This is so cool. Great to see it in action and I can't wait to roll my Bus over (sounds strange when you say it out loud). For anyone awaiting updated drawings/CAD - I'm lagging a bit as things are a bit busier than expected. I'll get it out there as soon as possible!
@@Vangabonders someone posted a full 360 rotisserie like this on r/vwbus a few weeks/months ago. While still fairly simple, a full ring just feels daunting. This will be a great reference for the community.
Have you rotated the rotisserie on all of its sides? It may be more than a one person job to rotate to the last position? Very cool and handy. Thanks for the great video!!
I think I’m going to attempt to make a set of these too, thanks! Dumb question, but do these fit from both sides to rotate the bus in the other direction?
Hey Im trying to build this. Ive look between your screenshots and the pdf you shared but I dont see where it mentions the angles of the cuts. Can you point that out for me or list the angles of the cuts?
I am going to be building your rotisserie soon, and I haven’t been able to get a clear image of the 5 sided plate (that attaches to the rear) is it possible to send me a clear copy of it. Thank you, I enjoy your posts. TH
Awesome video. Went to order the material here, but realised that I wanted to be able to flip it both directions, so I would need to do the bolt on rear plate instead of welding. I'm not an engineer and I wonder if there's any risk of the 2*2" tubes being too weak when drilling. The original has 2*1".
Indeed in order to flip you would have to bolt. I don't think the 2x2 tubing would be a problem drilled but I am also no materials engineer. You can always go with the original 2x1 as its been shown to work just fine!
@@Vangabonders Thanks. They don't have the 1*2" here, but I can probably find something to insert to reinforce it. My first structural build, so I am probably a bit overly cautious.
This is a brilliant and simple concept.
Excellent job.
It has worked great for me so far!
We see "Jack" back. Makes me think, "The Shining". Definitely use the leg technique over the back.
I like to equally strengthen both haha
Great job! I thought it would be a complete circle. I like the use of less material and space with the same outcome.
I definitely love how little material it took. It would all fit in the backseat of any car
This is awesome I am a welder and I can appreciate this.
Now the fun work begins. Looking forward for the next video. Jeff with the 62 VW bus from Niagara falls Ontario Canada
I'm surely excited
Genius! 71bus, Mesquite Texas

@adamstagnaro Looking forward to the revised CAD plans. I'm currently restoring my 1972 T2. Thanks again for the videos @vangabonders
@@adamstagnaro hi how did you go with the drawings/ CAD design
The difference that made to the restoration. And you wouldn't have any trouble selling it if your sure your never going to flip another bus.
Brilliant
My man
My man with the plan
Love tour videos lots of good information on them
More to come!
Good job, works well in the space you have.
This is sick, great work. Way simpler than I pictured in my head. I might to make my own now.
That was my hope when I made this video! That people would realize how easy it really is to make a rotisserie. It’s definitely worth it already

Hulk mode: engaged

Mate thank you what awesome little jig I’ll give it a go should help an tone 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻🤟🏻
It is certainly worth it
Dammit now I've got no excuse not to build one. You made it look easy!
I didn't make it look easy, it IS easy! Good luck
Very nice it is different from most rotisseries I have seen ,great job
That is awesome!!!! Well done! You're pickin up them skills! I say bring in a Vanagon or an old Square back next time around
A high top vanagon would be cool. Synchro maybe
Very cool and clever , wish I had one when I was doing my 68 earlybay
I love it already! Glad I did it
Carry on man,Carry on.
Yet another great video! You are a beast!
Thank you! I try lol
Thats Awesome Mate, well done.
Perfect 🤩 just like Mallory 😍🏴
Very informative
The kombi bench presser :)
Haha that’s me
thats a nice rotisserie! good job :)
Thank you sir!
Great build. I need one of those
Yes you do!
fuck yeah dude now youre set!
Its making my life so much easier!
I like the subliminal messaging on your drink can!
Haha gotta do what I gotta do
is there something like this for the type 1?
Yes and they’re way easier to make since they’re so much lighter/smaller
@@Vangabonders you have the link to it maybe?
@@Thomzombie303 www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4926187 try that
Did you all ever get those plans in CAD? Will buy if so.
❤
Right back at ya

Indeed the further you go the harder it is to rotate, but nothing that two people can't handle pretty easily!
I think I’m going to attempt to make a set of these too, thanks! Dumb question, but do these fit from both sides to rotate the bus in the other direction?
The front rotates as is, in order for the back to rotate you have to bolt it on rather than weld it like I did.
6:30 - that kid on Christmas morning excitement lol

@@henrikbergman4055 it's not very heavy at all once you have everything stripped. I don't think you'll have a problem at all to be honest
Awesome. I need to make one for by Orange 73 Westy. Would you be open to selling these after you are done?
I’ve thought about it. I could always make you your own set. I might give these to the local VW shop
If you open up the hole it becomes loose
Nice work, but I surely did cringe when you lifted the back end with your legs and it wobbled!
I still cringe remembering that moment haha
