Thank you for this update of the culture. I'm 66 y/o and haven't been to Nassau since my pre teens. My father was Bahamian and my mother was African American. They met and married in the U.S and both have since passed on. I hope to visit again before I myself pass on.
We speak english but we have a strong presence of non-Bahamian cultures that have been integrated into our society...fun fact W.E.B Dubois cofounder of NAACP was born and raised in Bahamas
Thank you for sharing this my father is from and born in the bahamas but came to America and met my mom and was deported soon after I was born so I have no connect to my culture
So my mom is Jamaican and my dad is half and half Bahamian and Haitian. I know nothing about the Haitian/Bahamian side due to not being raised with my dad so I’m curious to know about these cultures
Having been to Eddies Edgewater Inn in George Town in the 1990s, I will say that not only is Rake N Scrape the saw ,drum and accordion but whatever anybody has brought to the party. Some of the best fun I have had.
My name is Michelle Deveaux my Father was born and raised in Nassau Bahamas I have lots of family all over the Island. You are most likely a cousin of mine.
I ♥️ this video, it was very informative, interesting, & amazing to see the different ways you can make music! I hope we can still celebrate even in this strange time! Your video is a Blessing & I know you are a CHILD Of GOD!!!! You are a Constellation!!!!✨💌📣🥰👁️❤️🎼🎶🔥🏹📯👂🏼🙏🏼
Ivana when Barack Obama became President 🇺🇸 I came to the Bahamas for the first time & I love it. I love Barack & Michelle Obama , I love The Bahamas & The Caribbean Nations so much . I never have childhood friends from 🇧🇸 in my life , I do want 🇧🇸 friends 😁 if I have my future home in Nassau or Freeport Bahamas I would opened a small film studio & would marry an handsome Bahamian & I dream to have a daughter
One thing I find evey intresting about different places of the world is how similar but also how very different the music can be, like their music had a touch that sounded like Mexican music
