I am truly amazed by the evolution of Junkanoo in the Bahamas. Throughout history, Bahamians have demonstrated their ability to adapt to trends and embrace diverse cultures. However, witnessing how Junkanoo has transformed from an African tradition of rebellion to a vibrant cultural expression that showcases the creativity and musical talents of our people is truly spectacular. The parades, like Junkanoo in the Bahamas and Gombey in Bermuda, serve as a unifying force, connecting us as a people. As a proud Bahamian, I am particularly delighted by the way this parade has uniquely identified us and shed a positive light on our cultural heritage.
Still marveling at their choreography and creativity. I'm a Saxons fan but I love Junkanoo overall. I really have to commend One Family months later and I have this on repeat.
That was beautiful choreography and costumes! I've been to Freeport, but never to Nassau. One day, I will have to come and check this festival out! God bless from Florida!
