A bit of a waffle review of my race day at Ironman Wales. The ups and downs and everything in between. Big thanks to @gavgmedia (Instagram) for the visuals on the day.
Several of my club mates who did Wales this year (and are very Ironman and Wales experienced and very strong swimmers) had same feeling after about 100m of the swim...."not sure I can do this swim". Loads of swim DNF's too. You smashed it Kellie! 💪
Nice bling 🔥 Congrats on an awesome race & fantastic time in tough conditions. I've signed up for Tenby 2025 so will have to start hitting the hills. It's all about the journey 🤙
Fantastic achievement! 👏 Don’t forget the swim elevation! 😆 And don’t forget to frame that medal and all the other bits and bobs to preserve the amazing memories of the day. Highly recommend Leah at Framed/Display with Pride in South Wales.👌
Huge congrats on this Ironman! Sounds like the course was a beast and you did an Amazing job getting through the swim! So inspiring that you learned to swim 1.5 years ago. I just learned a year ago and that’s the thing holding me back from from a 70.3 or full.
Fantastic job! The swim sounds horrendous. I was on holiday in weymouth the other week and the 70.3 was on. Ive got the bug for it by just seeing the race. Im going to do one before I'm 40! Love your videos very inspirational 🎉
The bike course isn’t as hard I don’t think. There are a lot more forgiving sections where you can build the average! The run course was harder but only marginally tbh, no hill as steep as the Queen’s Park one though! DNF rate is lower and the numbers don’t lie 🤪

Congratulations Kellie 🎉🎉 so inspiring 🥹 even with the pee story 😂
Love the pee story 🤣🙏🏽
You are such a rolemodel. Two months ago I decided to participate in Ironman Austria next year. You are a rockstar your journey is crazy 😍♥️🙏🏽
Amazing! Austria looks dreamy
Well done on the swim, I got kicked in the head twice and second lap was hard. I feel your pain. But hey you are an ironman! 😂
Amazing girlie 👏👏 if you’re not peeing yourself on the course you ain’t doing Ironman correctly
Sounds amazing! How do you rate it compared to Bolton last year?aside from lake vs sea?
