    Even though I'm familiar with the basic masks from LR, it's still good to see you go through each option, Jim. I'll have to say Luminar has nailed it with easy-of-use masking. And to think I struggled so much before trying to master masking in Photoshop! Now with this capability, I have no need for Topaz Mask AI.

    Compounding the masks is a really good tip, Jim! Thanks for sharing, as I've found that with the imperfect current iteration of the tool I was having to brush in/out a lot of places in the image where the AI mask wasn't perfect. This helps a LOT! Even if I have to brush things now, I'll save a lot of time.😀

  • @fjperras
    @fjperras 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Awesome presentation Jim, well done. One quick observation, you can stack as many instances of brush/linear/radial/ai on your masks but once you start stacking, you can't seem to go back and move a previous instances of radial and/or linear. Better place it well before you start stacking. Another observation, radial mask provides you with yet another neat alternative to do dodge and burn while waiting for the actual tool ;). Thank you so much for sharing.

  • @Lysander-Spooner
    @Lysander-Spooner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I put in a feature request with Skylum to make the Linear Gradient and Radial Gradient editable at any time. This would be functionally equivalent to the way these masks work in Lightroom. The way Skylum has them now means if you click to commit and move on another tool and want to go back and move the Linear or Radial Gradient you cannot, you have to delete and start over.

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When I activate the AI mask function, it takes 8 minutes to analyse the image.
    Is it that slow for everyone else?

      Wow that seems really slow. Depending on the image, it is slow for me sometimes, but never like that.

    Too bad one had to guess how to use these trolls since they're is no manual. There's a lot more this can do that you didn't cover. Unfortunately, everyone is going to spend hours guessing these features.
