I find it hard to use my voice properly. If someone asked me to sing 'normal' to test my range, I would probably have 2 octaves. But if I'm messing around with different tones and approaches, different genres of music etc, I can mix way up my head voice and probably sing closer to 4 octaves. After years I've still never been able to incorporate the mixed notes in a reliable way into my register, and when I attempt covers I mimic the singer's approach and it usually doesn't work.

Wassup just a guy with a normal range coming through in a sea of people with monstrous ranges. F#2-G#4(chest/mix)-Eb5(head)-G5(falsetto)On good days I can mix up to an A4 and my head voice goes up to F5(singable, not doable) but that's pretty much about it. (Before puberty screwed me over I was able to go up to C6 in falsetto, but here we are now🤦)
try using a different tonality when approaching higher notes. Think Britney Spears esk or a better example is Rose from BlackPink. When I sing high notes, using my normal tone I can't hit them but if I try to adopt a different tone I usually can cause it forces me to use different muscles
I had my choir teacher do this for me, and I finally found my range. Eb2 - D4 chest, and Ab5 top. This video was really helpful as it allowed me to find my range.
I sing in a band and have watched a couple of your vids.... sitting her in my little studio....not so warmed up I got to a doable A5 and down to a G2.... again "doable" But as you said on any given day, (especially 2nd set into a gig)...I likely could get to a singable Bb5. Great information to have in my pocket. Thanks.
Tara, it would be great is you did videos covering certain voices such as the Basso Profundo, Counter Tenor, and Contralto. Sorry Soprano's, you already get enough attention.
Would I be correct in saying that the difference between my doable and singable ranges are much greater? I can get up to C#5, but I think my singable range is best if I stop around the A4. Is that common?

I love these guys
let's wait till these dudes claim they can vocalize up to a c8 but can't even handle a b4 properly. #sipstea
A man in these comments claimed to be able to hit a G6 in 'falsetto'.
Um...no. lmao. That would be whistle, not head voice. No man on Earth is singing to G6 in head voice - not Vitas, not Dimash, no one. It ain't happening. If you heard it, or saw it, then it was definitely whistle.
Your comment proves accurate.
@@blackcoffeguzzler G6 in Falsetto, that dude is an alien hahaha
Its possible. My male coach can do those Ariana like falsetto notes up to an Ab6.
@@Das644 ask him to drop a cover and we shall see! it's not about hitting the note, it's about how it sounds. everyone can scream and hit notes above high C, but that doesn't mean they got it.
@@pipocasmith9222 that is actually true. But people do not scream in falsetto🤣😅. He isn't a singer singer just a vocal coach.
Omg....Tara you need to watch Dan Vasc doing bring be bact to life....amazing. This is all I'm going to say. A must watch, ha has done many covers, from metal, rock to musical and operatic....a must watch.
I've got loads of "doable" notes, but I don't think I've got any "singable" notes- (not that anyone else wants to listen to anyway!) 😂
Lol I’m sure that’s not true!!
Hahahahahaha
AHHH Jeremie I miss your training so nice to see these videos you def helped me focus my range :)
I badly want to know my range but I don't even know if I am singing the right note
Get a pitch app and find a viritual piano with the keys labeled on them and test it!
@@pinesyeet what is a good app?
@@isabellarios2005 If you search for "chromatic tuner" in the Play Store (or apple store I guess) you'll find apps that are for tuning instruments etc, these work great! I prefer one named "Chroma | Chromatic Tuner". It has a green and white logo and is from a publisher named "CoffeePods". As for online piano, go to www.onlinepianist.com/virtual-piano . Hit the button named "letter notes" and hit the "zoom out" to get a full piano. When you press a key, the whole name of the note played will be displayed in the top left. :)
Should add that the piano probably works better on PC than phone though.
@@pinesyeet thank you so much
way to go Jeremie!
I’d love to get you in for a vocal one off lesson to get to the meat of your issue and get you some actionable steps and warmups that can help! Call or email us at 404-437-7919 infor@tarasimonstudios.com
Thanks I did get a lot out of this... Thanks for sharing
I can´t reach those LOW notes....imposible under the F#2. Congratulations!!
Even with that head voice....I can´t get over G#5 AWESOME!!!!
I like your videos: personality, coaches, and advice. Maybe I'll be a student one day. From one who will die trying to sing, love it. God Bless+
Wow! I don’t think I can go that low 😂 I believe I have 4 octaves
Tara! You just with wits, gusto and zest!!! What a delight! I’m a Baritone with some mezzo on falsetto and whistles, I’d love to be tutored by you eventually. Kudos! Subbed 🙌🏻
doable: D#2 - G#4 / singable: maybe F2 - F4...?
I always wondered what my range is and what kind of singer I am... male btw XD could it be considered barritone? I'm very bad with high notes for sure...
I have that exact range and am very much a baritone...There's a good chance you are, too!
E#4 being F4 lol
@@andresn695
You're absolutely right ^^ I meant D# of course
edit: wait, no... now I'm confused... I meant F4! thinking is hard... especially in the morning
Ow!!!! Thank you so much you're my friends
I am 3 months old and my vocal range is E1-C9
Plus the entire english keyboard.....
girl i can do a-1918 to c26626
Amazing talent groomed by amazing teaching!
When I sing (in the car) a high pitch song, I feel like I can get more baritone afterwards. Would doing the head voice exercise first allow for a lower chest base results?
I’m not sure if that would bring about the desired result. However, you should call or email us and we can get you set us for a one off voice lesson to hear what you’re doing and help you correct/improve upon it with techniques tips that you can actually use across the board! It's because you're more relaxed after sustaining higher notes now going to a more comfortable tessitura your voice feels that release.
I've been practicing for 2 months now After watching theses videos about extending your range and I'm thankful for these people that inspires teens like me... And now I'm about a note close to this man's range... I was a baritone btw
(Before puberty screwed me over I was able to go up to C6 in falsetto, but here we are now🤦)
Try to use twang it should help a lot.I can go to B5 in high mix
My chest range is the same as yours but for some reason I have a very large falsetto range
try using a different tonality when approaching higher notes. Think Britney Spears esk or a better example is Rose from BlackPink. When I sing high notes, using my normal tone I can't hit them but if I try to adopt a different tone I usually can cause it forces me to use different muscles
I dont want puberty to hit cuz right now i can hit notes above high c and i dont want to lose that lmao
I love your teaching . lots of stuff to learn
Please react to demi lovato 'anyone' live performance at the Grammy's 2020 please.
On my list sweet pea!!
I had my choir teacher do this for me, and I finally found my range. Eb2 - D4 chest, and Ab5 top. This video was really helpful as it allowed me to find my range.
Omg you should really react to la'porsha Renae from American idol.... Please.
Thanks.
He sounds like John legend
This was so much fun to watch, you guys are the best, thanks for the giggle 🤣❤
Tara, it would be great is you did videos covering certain voices such as the Basso Profundo, Counter Tenor, and Contralto. Sorry Soprano's, you already get enough attention.
I love this video thanks Tara and jeremie
Would I be correct in saying that the difference between my doable and singable ranges are much greater? I can get up to C#5, but I think my singable range is best if I stop around the A4. Is that common?
Yes, it’s not too much lower than your doable and that’s the idea.
I have no clue what's going on, but I still enjoyed watching their chemistry.
3:39 was my high limit
And C#2 is my low limit
