He hasn’t quite got his meow down.. he’s being raised around chickens so he sounds like a chicken sometimes. He is my life 🫶🏻
Although we've always assumed them to be Russian Blues, we have been informed that my family's two oldest cats, Simba and Sabrina(pictured above as my handle picture), are far more likely korats, and given the research I've done I have to agree!! By no means purebreds, they both still have giveaway korat features, such as the heart shaped face, large round green eyes, deceivingly HEAVY, shiny silver coat, chatty and personable but still jumpy... they're coming up on 13yrs old and they're both still going strong! No idea how their ancestor could have found its way to Arizona, but couldn't be more thankful that they did!🐈⬛💓🥰✨💖😻

It definitely doesn't surprise us that you originally thought it looked like a Russian Blue. But yes, we definitely agree she has a more likely heart-shaped head, more triangular than the typical Russian Blue. To think that the genes of a Korat (native to Thailand) came all the way up to Arizona sounds crazy, doesn't it? Thank you for sharing all this with us. Crazy cat I thought my boy was half Russian blue half siamese! For 7half years! Now I know he's half korat not siamese! An ore couple introduced them to us in 1959 ! The thailand king told them korats are God's so they must not be bred to any other cat breed! This non cross breeding makes them rare worldwide even in thailand!My Boyd sister died of a genetic korat neuro paralysis disease at age 7! She never had seizures!so they must be tested for this! My boy looks just like a korat I got him for free! My boy is about 20 lbs he's a preemie! He's the sweetest smartest fur baby! We cuddle not play much due to my disability! He loves my friends extremely disabled son! He talks lots to me! He was abused for the first 6 weeks of life! We literally saved each other!
We adopted Earl (4 or 5, seems to be pure bred Korat) from friends who had 3 aggressive females that did not like Earl. He was underweight and had injuries on his left side including nerve damage. Our old boys, Danny (14 yr Russian Blue), and Pete (13 yr Orange medium coat, may have some Egyptian), took him in and made him their brother. His weight has doubled and with therapy he is a cute bowling ball running around. These descriptions of Korats in both appearance and behavior are accurate! I would adopt a Korat 10/10, they are awesome.
I was in the market for a young cat. A friend called to say a young cat was found and was I interested? I always wanted a gray cat with green eyes ... this stray was gray. Assuming she was a Russian Blue I named her Natasha!! Now that she is 3 and I have looked at hundreds of RB's I finally realized that she is indeed a Korat!! I am so glad that I am retired! She would be so lonely by herself!! I could have named her Dara!!🐈⬛
Welcome Diane Sutton !! How nice of you to have accepted her into your home and taken care of her. Dara is not a bad name at all, but Natasha sounds like a beautiful name to us. There are very interesting cat coats all over the globe but gray cats have that special and mysterious thing about them, don't they?
What a really beautiful 🐈, related to the Siamese cat which is very interesting. Wow the eyes are mesmerizing, what a cool color. Talk about an old breed & that you couldn't buy but given as a gift only. Smart as well & easy to train. 🐈 can be trained also & listen to us.

Listening to Jimi Hendrix, met him & his father in Seattle also saw the band in concert a few times, excellent concert ' s ( they don't have concerts like that anymore period) so sad & now they serve alcohol at concerts, not good for the people who don't drink & whoever did that should have their head exam, really bad idea. Almost summer solstice longest day of the year & in Alaska we don't get dark outside, dusky. That's so cool it's already light out at 4 am also still have my first Hendrix album from the 60 s. The earth is moving again wishing it would come to fruiton but it will, forgot to tell you that I can feel the earth since I was very young, was only 3 day off from 2018 so it's not done yet & Alaska has more earthquake ' s than anywhere in the 🌎, actually most start here & my Aunt lives in California so she thought that they had, found out we get about 100 up here every day but our state is huge. Can feel even when it's small & no one else can so they think I'm crazy until it does then wishing they had. I'm sorry about talking so much hey have a peaceful day.

@@ABC_animal_kingdom seen alot of the northern lights, one time after work in Anchorage we were going to the valley an hour drive & the sky was a red northern lights all the way to home where are camera was so got some killer picture ' s that morning about 5 am, got on the roof of the trailer & pointed the camera straight up into the red northern lights, it was just awesome. Summer in Alaska is why I stay up here plus don't have to see very many people Anchorage is one of the big cities but still it's not really very many people. I left Boston in 1978, was in that blizzard which shut down Boston for two weeks, we had to dig the cars out because we were walking on them also born in a blizzard, Elmendorf Airforce Base 3:12 am almost born in the back of the Studebaker I think that would have been cool, not Mom I was the first born.
I not sure what my cat is but my husband brought my smokin joe too me when he was 4 weeks old his mother was solid black with a fine coat she had 4 black kittens like her and then smoky the only grey one. Then the next litter was the same but the grey one was a girl which was his sister she looked a little different in the face then him but she was,too feral. Petsmart has him listed as a Russian blue but just from what i have read and seen on the korat it looks like my cat.
