I recommend getting two Russian Blues. I have a pair of them, brothers, and they light our days! Well-mannered, they don’t do naughty things. Very sweet and fun.
I had a Russian blue who crossed the Pacific with me on a 50 foot sailboat. He would come out and stand watch with me in the cockpit, getting on my chest every hour or so. What a great companion he was.
My Russian Blue loves to hunt and bring in mice which he eats………he refuses to go in his litter box……he goes potty outside. He spends most of his time outside. We bought a cat door for our slider so he gets to come and go as he pleases. He came out of the woods about 8 months ago. He was probably about 6 months old. Took a while for him to trust us. We think someone just dumped him off so he lived outside by himself for quite awhile before he found us . He’s a spoiled brat now but we love him…….he’s totally taken over our house and our hearts…..
I had the sweetest Russian Blue Kitty. The guy next door abandoned her to live in our neighborhood. Because she loved being here rather than Las Vegas. I took her over when she was 5 months old! I had her until Oct 5,2024 she got killed by a car a block away! She loved being outside and did not use a litter box. She always came home until 2 Saturdays ago. I am so So Sad😢 I miss her so much! How to find and get a new one? But 1st I have to screen my back patio. And I won't allow her to go out! This has been so painful😢
I have a Russian blue cat her name is Luna, she's awesome. I got her soon as she was weaned she is now 15 months old ,she high fives me she learns very easy.she has her routine. I love her
I recently rescued a polydactyl cat (all 4 paws) from work that is either a Russian Blue or a solid gray cat with all the mannerisms and traits of Blues. She's very special. Unfortunately, she and my other cat really want to be only cats, so my apartment now has 2 zones, each with its own cat.
I have had 2 Russian Blues. I had a girl from 2003-2011. She unfortunately had cancer: When she died, I didn’t have a cat. Until 2018 when I got my Henry. He’s 6 now and a total love
My Russian Blue was so excited to see me return home when I had to run errands. She heard me and mowed a high pitched excitement sound to let me know that she missed me and curled in a ball on my lap when I sat down in the chair.
I had a Russian blue. She lived to be 15 years old and I loved her very much. And she was a good girl. I miss her but I got my pretty kitty kid bit which is a😊 Maine Coon her name was symphony because she talked to me a lot so when you said that they're very vocal. Yeah symphony was very vocal. She was a very talkative cat and she always talk to me. I loved it that is my blue Russian with symphony, not the Maine Coon. Maine coon is tidbit
just got one (3 month old) few days ago. seems a normal cat to me. he just want to play all the time and follows us wherever we go. we can't even eat peacefully. every day is a challange.
#9 is so correct my baby goes out and brings back birds mice moles etc. I cant keep her the house but she does always come back and shes chipped god for bid.
I don’t think that the bonded thing is correct. I have a per bread Russian Blu and he was my mom’s cat till she died. Then I inherited him and ever since then he’s been by my side none stop. He’s definitely bonded to me. I only met him maybe 10 times before she passed. She had him from a young age till he was 3 1/2 when she passed. Now he’s 5 and he greets me and only me at the door and when I leave he watches me from our kitchen window to see when I leave. From what my kids said he was bonded to her too. He watched over her and stayed by her.
Point well taken cats do hunt in pairs!. I dont know which breed is more user friendly? A russian blue or a persian? Latley Im liking what I hear about Russian Blue because supposedly they are hypo allergenic. Not sure if that is really true because if a Russian blue kills a mouse which has been in the field would not that mouse befowl the cat just like any other? I love russian blues just
My Russian is not affectionate, she has anxiety, scared of me, runs away. She only comes to me when I am on the toilet or seating on the sofa. I can’t touch her if she simply walking around the house.
Me too! My Russian Blue, Wendy, she hates being held. She won’t snuggle with me and the only time I pet her is when she comes to ME. She’s very particular.
Yeah mine runs as if she scared. I got her at 4 months old. I think because she was older and experienced some type of trauma that has caused her to be this way. My other cat is so loving and happy all the time. She definitely miss out because I can’t bring her outside with me Or do anything special because she is jumpy and running from me all the time and it’s been 5 months now.
I feel the Russian Blue would be a good breed for me. However, it's difficult to find a purebred. I'd be concerned a mix would not have the same temperament as a purebred.
I have one I’m not sure what else he is mixed with however he is 4 months as of now and he is very calm and playing he likes to sleep with me or following me every I go
I have a Russian Blue, i got him at 8 weeks old and he is now 4, he is such a good boy and a snuggle bug, very vocal too.
