Dj Ellie- El.....thank you very much for making this video! I just bought this unit a week ago and could not get it to work on PC mode, was on the phone with tech support and they could not get it to work on PC either. They sent me another one and the same problem. Now I came across your video and now I know what the problem is...I need and unlocking device. So I say again... thank you very much for making this video.
these units are in my basement. now in germany they are going for, get ready, 1700k EACH. this is nuts. i paid 250 each for mine a long time ago. i would like cdjs but aint paying 3kach for them. i use vdj and play house. im wondering if i should just use these again as midi. and connect them to my djm 750mk2,
Hi I just bought numark ndx 500 and M6 mixer i need to connect with Serato dj..what do i need? Midi usb controller and usb port? Any midi controller? And serato dj pro?
@elliel2k2 the rerloop flux is 3 channels, right now I have the sample output connected to the third channel , but I would like to put a deck there, I could buy another turntable and do that but I was just wondering if I could get a small player instead like the numark
They don't connect to any controllers , they link to the software via USB cables (hid mode) so you can use any controller or Serato enabled mixer. As for Serato dj lite I'm not sure as I've only used Serato dj pro. In hid mode (internal) the ndx500 controls the virtual decks in the software.
This is crazy cause I have the exact players with the exact same mixer. And trying to go digital. The names DJ Mike J. And I'm trying to add digital to my cdj. If possible can we connect to discuss a few things
What device do I need to connect my 2 ndx500 to pc using serato dj Pro(please can you explain so I can buy one if needed). Both say connected D1 & D2 but I can't do anything else. Both set up same as yours via USB. I also want to connect 2 pioneer SL500 Turntables.THANK YOU
You're going to need a sound card, with mine I used the Akai AMX. You're going to need some type of mixer with a sound card, the decks control the virtual decks in Serato but they have no sound card. Now whatever sound card you get mixer or box (Denon ds1, serato box)you're going to need a 4-channel version if you want to use cdjs and turntables, 4 units 4 channels weather it be cds or / and turntables.
If you are using and sl2 box no need to run RCA cables for ndx500's, they operate in hid mode (USB to pc). With that configuration it's either or, you can't run dvs and hid at the same time. SL2 box is only 2 channel operation. If you had a 3 or 4 channel box or mixer you could mix and match but a 2 channel box will only open up 2 channels in serato.
You could do what your trying to do if you had a 4 ch. Serato box or mixer, you then open 4 decks in Serato and assign ndx500's to any deck of choice via USB while running your turntables as well.
@@elliel2k2 that’s what I assumed actually. I think I might still get a NDX500 anyway because it gives me the option of HID, USB sticks and CDs in one unit and I mostly want it for the USB feature so I can mix vinyl and digital without my laptop. Thanks for the response!
@@la_clave same here, that's all I do now myself. If you want to add numark ndx500's to your current setup it is possible, you just can't do it at the same time with a two channel serato box.
I use a pair of reloop neons to trigger serato pad fx. Any sub controller will do ie; pioneers ddj-sp1. The fx's come from the software and ar not actually on the device, the device is just a trigger.
Im having problems connecting them to Serato Dj Pro, I made a Serato time code disc (Wave file or ISO) but when inserted in NDX it says "empty" and I have no control of Serato DJ. I'm using Rane Serato Scratch Live box. Can you assist? Thank you.
cespaillat11 I run mine in hid mode (usb cable only) with my Akia AMX or Denon DS1 box , no difference. Now i to have recently upgraded to Serato DJ Pro and no problems yet. I haven't used the control cd since i purchased the ndx 500's, hid mode is very easy and tight integration with Serato dj. Link all devices to pc via usb cable, press source button twice to the third source option, press eject button to cycle thru desired deck selection and you good to go. Simple as that.
DJ Ellie-El Thanks for the prompt reply, I currently have both decks linked via USB hub and Scratch Live with USB directly to PC. When in MIDI mode they display "connected" but I have no functionality within Serato. I also have the AMX and that one works, but it keeps crashing on me so I switched to an Numark M6 mixer. I will try again later today. Thank you.
cespaillat11 notice in the video i use a reloop neon , what ever the player doesn't do i use the neon for ie; fx, samples & auto loops. I do use the player for manual loops. I use to set this up with my ds1 & a mixars cut mixer but right now i have a flawless performance out of my akia amx so much so I've added turntables for an interchangeable setup. This until i get my djm s9 or mixars quattro. But for now no crashing or functionality problems to report.
cespaillat11 lol not be funny, but i could have told u that long time ago. SL1 box & ttm 57sl are no longer supported and can only be used with scratch live.
Jonathan Smith in this video I have the 2 ndx500's and the reloop neon connected to a USB hub and the mixer via the Denon Ds1 connected directly to the laptop.
Hey guys. If anyone could help. I'm struggling to beat-match songs that have different bpm's. Those with the same bpm sync perfectly well. Please help. Thanks.
I don't personally know how to explain it but I suggest watching a tutorial from either we are crossfader or digital dj tips. I myself am ol'skool, I learned the old fashioned way by looking at others (live) asking as many questions as possible, then going home and practicing over & over till I got it right.........oh yeah near 40yrs. Later I'm still practicing ☺️
@@bulumkoposwayo6194 it's not that I don't know, I just don't know how to explain it via a comment or video. As far as beat matching with the ndx500's again I had a lot of HAND ON practice with other previous cd players and controller (emphasis on practice)
I have trouble mixing with my numark ndx500 players, especially due to the bpm's instability either through USB memories and CDs, since it is impossible to square both songs for this problem. Anyone having the same problem? any solution?
@@tommyhil7331 to me for the money, yes it's worth it. More so for the Serato DJ control rather than the CD or flash drive use, it's a budget friendly version of a more expensive pioneer CDJ or xdj.
Best video out there explaining the use of the NDX 500 with Serato DJ!!!
Thank You, had to feel my way around due to lack of info.

This works straight out of the box without serato as well on Virtual Dj
Hi I just bought numark ndx 500 and M6 mixer i need to connect with Serato dj..what do i need? Midi usb controller and usb port? Any midi controller? And serato dj pro?
I'm running two turntables with the reloop flux in in DVS mode can I use a CD player as a third channel to control deck 3 in serato
@djmunster the reloop flux is only 2 ch. I believe, if so you can only access 2 channels in Serato.
@elliel2k2 the rerloop flux is 3 channels, right now I have the sample output connected to the third channel , but I would like to put a deck there, I could buy another turntable and do that but I was just wondering if I could get a small player instead like the numark
@djmunster as long as the flux opens a 3rd channel then I don't see why not. Any channel visible in Serato the ndx500 can connect to via hid mode.

P.S. the best option today I recommend the Numark Scratch (mixer), it has everything you need to pair with a pair of ndx500's, it's only 2ch. Though.

The NS6 is the unlocking device, it's a Serato controller. The ndx500 would be just a CD player without it.
