Great video Mike, very comprehensive look over and test run in the dirt. Was at Milton CAT local dealer today, lots of iron in their yard as well. Enjoy your weekend, work safe my friend! Doug@ the "ranch"
Solid old rig, that's as new as I'd ever want in my fleet, I run between late 90s and early 00s for machinery. I've either been helping guys out or working across next to newer stuff a lot these past few years, seen newer electronics idle machines for sometimes days, and the repair bill requires a bank loan. Basic machine is fine, just some sensor or microchip that isn't wanting to play nice and the whole day comes to a screeching halt. I'll stick to my old wiring and everybody pointing and laughing. :)
Just like shopping for the DOZER and I got first comment again. Now, I'll watch it... OK, now I'm back. WOW, really good inspection. A must on that sort of investment $$$. YOU even pulled a WHEELIE with the thing. Can a THUMB be added? And OF COURSE, 'tilt bucket'! This was interesting and Thank You for sharing. Imagine the amount of money sitting on that lot? LATER! Sonny (CT)
I wish we had a dealer with that kind of inventory here. My grandsons would give up a day of fishing to go exploring with me there! Looks like a really solid machine for its age. Knowing it’s maintenance pedigree certainly soothes the throat when coughing up that kind of money too! Nicely done on your part!
The 321c& D’s are some off my favorite machines. I spent some time on them 2yrs ago on the Pa turnpike project. Very nimble and quick! Nice video Mike 👍🏻
My son calls those kind of trips "man shopping". Lol. My obsession with Tonka trucks started a really expensive habit. Good luck Jimbo and stay safe boys.
Iv ran a lot of cat machines their strong for lifting precast structures .some of my trucks have had cat engines . Their parts are a little pricey but their always available. It’s really all about the deal ! I’ve hammered those panels out with body tools before.
Yeah me too and panels can be straightened but if you get them for the right price it's worth this replacing them.. yeah it all comes down to the deal !
Cat’s are in general more expensive, but I gotta say, they aren’t afraid to stand behind their brand and back it. I’d say that’s a pretty decent deal if they are willing or sell it with 7900 hours with a warranty on top of it. Can’t wait to see her in the field.
Can't do the job without the tools which translates to FOOD on the table. Hey, a carpenter could bang nails with a rock but a good hammer works better. And on this, the TILT BUCKET is a MUST have! Take care. Sonny (CT)
Well its about 14 years old with 7930 hours to thats on average 566 hours a year not bad more then likely an owner operator machine not a highway construction firm owned it they highway firm put over 1,000 a year on an excavator. the machine weighs 51,000 pounds to the tag trailer behind the dump truck will not move it, even if the tag had 3 axles I would not want to move it with a tag trailer. But it can be done I see it, that's a lot of weight on a tag trailer.
Mind if I bend your ear about your experience with Milton and get some general advice? Looking to get into business for myself doing driveways/drainage/small excavation.
Milton seems to be a good company they always have availability of parts and service which is huge.. they also offer 0% financing on new equipment. But they also have a variety of used equipment that they will service and go through before they sell it to you.
@@DIRT-BOSS do you happen to know how flexible they are with people just starting out ? Thanks for the reply! It's awesome seeing videos from someone in the north east!
@@lucasaiken3978 Lucas what area are you from are you from here in New York I know Milton has other locations also if you're near me I can hook you up with the salesman and he would give you more input on that topic

My cat dealership must be massive because they have more graders in stock then that dealership has in every classification! Consistently has hundreds of brand new pieces of equipment.
I'll never own one, but it's great to hear your positive attitude and "getting at it" spirit....Thank You
Thanks buddy
CAT is the cadillac of the construction world.

Thanks Mike
Great job going over the machine! I loved all my time at the sticks of a 321D, definitely a nice machine.
Thanks appreciate the feedback

Yeah it seemed like a solid unit I have no beef with cat
I have to say, lots of guys like Cat, but after seeing your Komatsu dozer work, I would buy a Komatsu over Cat hands down. That thing is a beast
Yes I agree Thanks Dave
Great video, love your channel.
Thanks
Love pulling into the dealers and looking at equipment, the wife doesn't like it as much lol.
I know I could circle that lot six times and still want to go around four more times !

Mr. dirt boss may I ask a question is it possible to put a blade on the front of that 321C?
Well anything's possible but I don't think that would be cost-effective
Man I could spend a week in that equipment yard. Wife would want to kill me.
I hear that
I just got a 2014 cat 321 D lcr i love it do far tons of power
Good to know thanks
🔥🔥🔥 Fun Vid My Brother!!!
Thanks bro appreciate it It was fun
I would be a kid in a toy store 😂between all those machines
Yes sir
I have two 320 C we have had a lot of engine troubles with them .
Good to know I'll pass it along
Hi dirt boss. Just started watching your vids.
Excellent videos🤙
I run nothing but cat💪
Thanks buddy
Thanks for sharing your integrity about this piece of equipment.
You're welcome Dave
What would the price range on be?
I don't know what deal he made I didn't ask him at the time I was just there for the inspection and performance
What would you suspect the cost would be? Will be looking for a farm excavator for myself soon.
@@BobJones-eh1su for that machine you could get it as low as 40k beat up or up to 60k
Thanks
@@BobJones-eh1su Check the dealers website for your area. Most of the time they will put a price in there.

How does it compare to yours?
It's a different animal as far as smooth and controls it's the same The cat has more power obviously because it's a bigger machine..
I think you would be better in a JD or Kobelco. Just my PERSONAL OPINION. But look like a natural in that Cat.
Everybody has their preference
@@DIRT-BOSS I was a HUGE Cat fan as a kid then switched to JD. Each machine has it's own pros & cons.

Milton Cat??
Yrs sir !
It's always the best way to hide money is to spend it LOL Keep On Keepin On
Heck yeah !
I be like a kid in a candy store
Definitely definitely definitely
I'll argue that they are cheap to replace. On a mini, Kubota kx040 its $4k for new panels.
4K sounds steep for the little Kubota.. I've replaced them on my Komatsu machines before and they weren't much money.. but time will tell
@@DIRT-BOSS I was surprised by the cost too. Maybe its kubota asking too much. But I wouldn't think Cat would be cheaper.
Be aware of over heating with the 321c lcr

I could make you a deal on some new teeth for that bucket. Seriously.
Yeah I don't know what he's going to do I told him to have cat throw some new chompers on it ! You getting into heavy parts?
Jim will be doing a utube channel next.
