If you were to buy the hustler, you should consider making a v pusher that you pick up the same way as you pick up the hustler, with the spikes. You could carry it uk there on the unwrapped or it would be a very cheap item you might risk leaving up there
Love watching remember my grandad feeding the cattle never get tired of feeding the cattle down in Kent they used to get brewers malt feed a company called James done the delivery later on life
Nice video Phil. Thought the comments section was actually very interesting, helps viewers understand why ye are working the shed/bales the way ye are. There is obviously a lot of thought gone into how ye work the yard to make it as cost effective, time efficient and sustainable as possible. Keep her lit 👍🏻
We have a tub feeder with a sliding door one side and a conveyer another. Works for both feed passages with walls and ones without. Worth considering when ye are upgrading. Looks like the hustler will work fine anyway.
Using hustler 15yrs now only put 7 knives in baler stack single on ends when feeding just put on end take plastic an net off scoop over an scoop up an load job. Done got mine account of bad back best thing I ever done
Phil use the old single slats and a few loads of hard-core to make it accessible for the keenan and get rid Messing with all them other yokes You must have a lot of silage being pulled into the slats.the diet feeder will work their with the feeding tray tucked in.wishing you and your family a great new year 10:31
Working well now 👏👏 if you cut 1/3 to 1/4 of the wrap and net off the top then flip it over to put in the hustler it will all stay together, the munted bales take less off. 👌
Ref feeding beet & barley with the hustler. Could you get the tub like your old fert spreader to rest on the side rollers just above the belt on the hustler. When filled with barley and or beet the V bottom this will all a much better distribution when feeding out. more carrying capacity, easier filling with the small teleporter, no loss of feed (especially barley) when on the road and this tub can be lifted out when feeding bales. Also an idea for Hustler to add value to their machine .
Nice vid Folks... lots to think about... 🤔.. Maby a hydraulic bale slice to split the bales in the pass... Or a modified rear muckspreder similar to Drews Farming Life.. works a treat in there courts... feeds both sids at the same time to.. so no running over the feed.. stay safe 🏴
Curious to see if using a small/medium size tractor with the the hustler on the 3pt. hitch would be easier in a tight space and maybe easier on fuel. We make our silage drier and store our bales on end so they stay rounder longer. Merry Christmas from nova scotia.
takes a tractor with a bit of weight to use one .......they are not light and are mounted far out from the tractor , and with a wet bale on board they are heavy ...............but they are a mighty machine in a narrow passage .............
Seems to do what you need so worth looking at the financials alright. That’s said woukd an upgrade of the straw chopper to one that could handle feeding silage be a better option especially if you could put in ration and beer. I think most can feed out both sides at the same time. Worth looking at wheedled silage pusher as they should be able to fit on any of the front loaders
I don't agree that tub feeder takes more maintenance, but i need not tell u another machine in the yard means more problems. Imv stick with what your doing but avoid the grape ( called pike in cork).💪
Looking at the shed I think I would look at knocking the back walls out and putting stone down then fitting feed barriers with feed troughs I think it will give you more room to work and you won't need to keep pushing up as they can reach everything we've got tham and they work really well
We bought a diet feeder about 6 years ago and we couldn't even use it as it was to awkward to get in to the shed the layout was the problem if we had a door at each end of the building would have been a great job for us but only a door in the middle of the shed so it left to much turning around and fucking about it's all about the set up of the yard and building's if you do have the set up your limited to what you can do
Could you weld up a few pieces of flat plate, and some tube to make a V shaped pusher that would slip over the tines on the LX104 ? You could unhook the unrola part, and slip the bale tines into it, and just use it to push the silage to the side. It wouldn't need to lock in, since the tines are long enough and you a pushing. And it would be "agricultural" enough that no body would probably steal it, it would only have scrap value, and small enough you could probably hide it anyway.
Good video Phil , I’m not a farmer meself but an idea I had meself for graping in , would some form of a brush/pusher that you could pick up with the rustler bale spike , it could work
You are favourite farmers in the world 🌍 we just love the craic and content 😌.We love seeing all the animals and liv we will keep watching 👀 .So Happy New Year and good luck 🤞.See you in 2025 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
trying to chop up bales with one is hard on the machine and hard on a tractor and takes time .........unroller is much quicker ...... have one here feed 500 surplus bales out with it in a narrow passage ........ all on a clapped out same tractor that u would not tie a dog to ............on 25 gallons of diesel ...........!
@@georgedoorley5628 we have a red rock vm12 on our same 90 from 03 nearly on 8k hrs never missed a beat on it mixed twice daily and never done no damage other than a couple blades that were thin anyway
@FARMERPHIL3690 have you thought about getting a feed pusher would be worth it for pushing up the feed or maybe it's of no use to yous just seems it would be a cleaner job

Have a Hustler. Great machine. Drop the wet bales onto to it with all plastic on. Cut plastic all the way around and take off top plastic. Only plastic that will be left will be under the bale and that normally stays on the hustler as it sticks to spikes. Much easier roll out bale when not broke up
A bit of a mad idea by myself but I'll throw it in, if you took out the barriers and put in 4 ring feeders, try divide the shed someway with them, drop in the bales from each end of the passage with the boom of the loadall. I know that you can't access the back door without putting in some hardcore. I've come to the conclusion myself that there's no comfort feeding bale's in a narrow passage .
bale un roller is the only machine for a narrow passage ...........have one here and it cuts out the heavy forking .......they work best with dry unchopped bales ........you would think it was put out with a diet feeder its so even all the way down the passage ....
@georgedoorley5628 Yes they're good but costly and another item to be maintained on the farm and eventually it will have to be replaced by a newer machine, Also he has to feed bales everyday. These boys will be busy come slurry time, they need a simple system that they can feed bales twice a week and cattle will have access to it without the need for forking.
Great video again Phil. I love the way you explain things and give the reasons, even for me a non farmer it’s good to have. Thank you x
If you were to buy the hustler, you should consider making a v pusher that you pick up the same way as you pick up the hustler, with the spikes. You could carry it uk there on the unwrapped or it would be a very cheap item you might risk leaving up there
we found if you stack the bales on there flat rather than on the round they keep there shape better for unrolling them
The way you are feeding them now is working well .Great looking silage.
Love watching remember my grandad feeding the cattle never get tired of feeding the cattle down in Kent they used to get brewers malt feed a company called James done the delivery later on life
You could do with a silage shower phil
Great videos well done.stay positive and keep farming.

All the best Stewart family and associates for the new year.
The problem lads is the shed was designed for a time when men weren't afraid of forks. 😂😂😂😂😂
We have a tub feeder with a sliding door one side and a conveyer another. Works for both feed passages with walls and ones without. Worth considering when ye are upgrading. Looks like the hustler will work fine anyway.
Phil put a V type pusher on 2 tube to fit in the spikes so you can push in before putting in meal and silage👍
Happy Christmas and a happy new year to all of the Stewart family.
That's a very nice feeder you have there famer phil martin flaherty. ❤❤
Happy new year to you and your family Phil

Phil get a bucket of waste engine oil and brush it onto the cattle with ring worm great job
I've just bought one for bedding sheep & feeding cattle
Bales are very usefull to help manage grass

Great Job Philip
For the amount of work you currently have for an un-roller a good second hand one would make sense in my humble opinion.
good s/h one nearly as dear and there is no finance on a s/h one ..........

Great video Phil. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Merry Christmas to you all, looking forward to seeing you all again in 2025.
Look into the IAE ones. They are very good and can spread straw into pens too.
Love the videos. We watch every Tues, Thurs and sun.
Insightful story. Tks
Looking good

Any news about restoring one of the old tractors
Hi farmer phil use yard scrapper push in small bits silage no need for grasping in small bits with hand fork works wonders
Why don't you push in the silage with a wheel or a v pusher
I think it works well for that shed its getting use to it 👍
Have a look at Lodemaster 3000 fo Gate side unloading meal from the gater with a bit of adaption
Can you use the bale unwinder on the small jcb where it's not as wide you wouldn't be driving over it.
Hi farmer Phil that was a great job with your cattle and keep up the good work with fresion cattle and 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

It looks like it may be worth trying the side roll bars lower down.
Nice one Phil & Liv

Fk machinery dose one that spreader straw 5 meters and also puts out the silage as well looks a good job

Why don't you get a diety feeder for the lifts of the tractor Phil
Good video Happy Christmas 🎉🎉 🎄
Why not a tub feeder that will do all the feeding in both yards?
You could do with a pusher like ifarm we farm uses
Merry Christmas
Would you think about getting a beet chopper for the front of the teleporter
I don't agree that tub feeder takes more maintenance, but i need not tell u another machine in the yard means more problems. Imv stick with what your doing but avoid the grape ( called pike in cork).💪
The only downside is daily feeding up n down the road . When you go back at slurry it’s a lot for Liv to handle 👍🏻
i see your a fan of the holly
Use the bale unroller to put bales into the Keenan if needed
Gh engineering Co Tyrone 3 pt linkage tub feeder is the way to go
Works well, though a used 10m tub wouldn’t cost much more and be more versatile. Might get 2 days out of a full tub
Even if it only holds 3 bales, at 36hr feedings you would miss a sunday and wednesday visit
Get the silage tested .
Id love to see how good it is as it looks lovely stuff .
And you may buy that unroller .
Get it as a santy present 😂😂
Just a thought how about up dating the straw blower to a newer machale or tegal that can handle silage bales? Really enjoy your channel!!! 🇨🇦
Happy Christmas and Happy new Year.
Wouldn't be too worried about the feeding set up . Have seen and done a lot worse. Keep up the good work lad
Fair play . God loves a try er
Well done Phil
Head bar for them cattle needs to go 4” higher, there growing well
It looks more hassle than it's worth to me tbh and I'd sack your bale wrapper aswell. Top man though keep the videos comming
It does works just practice and it will be a good job
Has the holly cleared up the ring worm yet
Does that jcb have a flow dial ? I know the 320s in work have a dial u can turn the aux right the way down like
For the cost off one off them a bale splitter would do the job there perfectly. The hustler looks very awkward there and it looks slow to feed.
Hi Phil, good video as always.

Just bust out back wall of both sides or 1 side and easy feed them

being just two bales can you manualy roll one out each side?

Don't stop making videos
buy a 4 in 1 bucket for your handler far better job for feeding bales my opinion
Well come ji
Straw chopper will take a silage bale but you still need telly because bales stacked one to try out
Given you have a mixer wagon, why faf on with the Hustler?
Is the theft that bad in your area?
I guess Johnston has a deal at some point :)
👍
Will look forward when tanks be misked these tanks be a few load of water round bales 😢😮

Did cattle eat the sun flowers bale a few weeks ago
could you make a pusher to fit the hustler spikes would work well
Think there will be a deal for the new hustler there its definitely doing the job for you
If Bale's were stacked on their end might stay rounder for that machine
they would .........they hate miss shaped bales ........and not too fond of wet silage ............likes unchopped dry silage the best
Good stuff..thought a second hand tub feeder probably wouldn't cost much more and be an even better job.
The upkeep on one would be more with more to go wrong

Using one loader to load up another loader is quite comical😂
Bale spliter half t drama
Be perfect for that shed 👍
no good in that narrow passage
Looking to me it would work better if it feed out back to front in stead of side to side
3:54 no I wouldnt go wild 🐂 😅 ether
6:57 I hope someone got u a belt for Christmas
Have ya anything useful to comment about p…k
@ his arse crack is out in every second video so all I said is I hope someone buys Phil a belt to keep his jeans up and his arse crack of the camera
That isnt the machine for the job unfortunately. Nice silage
