Thank you, thank you and did I say thank you ? I was bought up spotting at St Budeaux Ferry Road so the line to Plymouth was familiar, apart from starting at Victoria Road station. When we moved to Saltash, I rarely crossed the river except by bus (it was cheaper) and travelled this route far too late to enjoy the view ........ I could bore you with all the memories about Westerns, Hoovers, Peaks, late-night Rats and railtour Cromptons and getting foot-plate rides on the 08 shunting into the Bull-Point siding, but a great ride. Thank you.
What a shame that third and fourth generation DMU's lack the forward view of the line ahead from the leading carriage, which made travelling in these units such an exciting proposition!
It’s nearly 33 previous years ago that it happened on Thursday 12th September 1991. I was aged 15 years old at the time 🕰️. Ancient history. It’s a first generation DMU - Diesel ⛽️ Multiple Unit train 🚂 🚊 🚆 . Gangway within unit. The railway 🚃 track 🛤️ is single between Saltash and St Budeaux Ferry ⛴️ Road 🛣️. In the present 💝 days, there are second generation trains 🚂 🚊 🚆. 👍

The royal Albert bridge is the border between Devon and Cornwall
A real age of innocence and the only way to see a line properly was through the cab of a 101 and the likes....proper job!!
