- Hi you awesome folks and welcome back to the channel once again. today we are looking at the big boy outback from silky saws. This piece of bushcraft hardware is certainly hardcore enough to tackle even the biggest jobs outdoors being able to see ridiculous diameters of timber and the only thing stopping you is your own stamina. I hope you enjoy the vid guys. Till the next one. Stay crafty. #bushcraft #bushcrafttools #silkybigboy
Bought a Silky Big Boy on your recommendation. Overcame the shock at the price (being a tight Yorkshireman) but glad I did. One of the best tools Ive purchased! While it can't replace a chain saw it come s pretty close and is quiet, wastes less wood and has no running costs. Really glad I got one thanks Ste
Hey Jok great to hear from you buddy. I'm really chuffed you picked up the silky on my recommendation. It is a cracking saw even if it is a little on the pricey side! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Take it easy.
Big boy rocks. ♥️♥️
I don't have a silky.my 🪚 is a ibuprofen.
Great review mate. I’ve just got the Gomboy and already want to Outback Bigboy 2000. The Gomboy is great but I think the Outback Bigboy would be awesome!
Yeah the gomboy 240 Is a great saw. The outback is an even better saw! I carry mine on most occasions in place of the smaller gomboy, just for it's sheer performance. All the best bud.
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching 👀
I live up in the Boreal Forest region of northern Canada . Whenever I'm out in the remote bush I always have a Silky Bigboy Outback with me . I could write an essay on how really good they are and how they've helped me out of less that idea situations .
Well I can say it will definitely be in its element up there! Nice one pal. The guys over at silky certainly do make a quality saw you can rely on. Take it easy.
Very good video thanks for sharing your videos ain't been coming up in my feed lately sorry catching up now bud 👍
The channel was deleted again by TH-cam pal. I'm just uploading previous videos for now. Take it easy buddy
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors the buggers
It's worth the money. The Buck saws have their place but this is the best saw for carrying around.
100% it's a great value tool.
I have both the silky outback and the Agawa saws. The outback outperforms the Agawas but it does not stay sharp as long and replacement blades are almost as expensive as the saw itself.
I agree on both of your points regarding performance and high price on the blades, but in my experience, so far, the blade has remained extremely sharp! It has been used extensively throughout the winter months. Thank you for the comment and feedback. Take it easy.
I've heard that aged/dry hardwoods will dull it much quicker than cutting green wood.
Absolutely love the Bigboy Outback...
A replacement blade is half the price of a new saw👍
Is thé silky bigboy a good workingsaw ? I need a bugup Saw for cutting small trees and branches. In case i blocke my chainsaw.
The saw is actually designed to be an arborist saw first. It's definitely more than capable for down small trees. Take it easy.
Does it come with a carry case ?thanks keiran
If I remember correctly, it does come in a clear plastic case. Take care.
👍👍🙏🙏✌️✌️🌲🌳
I want wither a gomboy 240-10 or the gomboy outback which has the 240-8 blase
Can someone tell me which is the better blade please.
Hey there I think the 10 and the 8 are referring to the curved blade on the outback. The curved blade definitely performs better iny opinion. With the curved blade always being "in the cut" both are great performers, but the curve takes the win for me. All the best.
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors the 10 and 8 is re the teeth. Medium and course.
Cheers
@@dannyfryer7794 I stand corrected I will have to check myself cheers bud.
