This is Side Two of the stereo LP 'New Zealand Steam Safari' [ZTR 136]. Recordings made by John Mann, Keith Southern and Nancy Southern. This side consists of on board recordings of the 'Safari Special' behind J no.1236 piloted by Ja no.1250 as the train climbs up to the Raurimi Spiral and the National Park station.
The recordings have been edited by Peter Handford for the Argo label in the UK. The LP was released in 1973.
