That was AMAZING!! Good job and a HUGE shout out to your cameraman!!! That wouldn’t have meant as much without him.

Reminds me of my pursuit of ptarmigan in the highlands of Scotland, a few years ago. An experience of a lifetime, two of us and the keeper with his
three pointers, worked in rotation. A long hike to above the tree line and walking across the rocky scree. We both shot a brace each, birds were in eclipse
plumage, just like yours. Never to be forgotten experience, in incredible but hard to get to areas.

(10mm Glock, I assume)….I’m almost 73, bird hunted all over the Midwest for most of my life, but after watching this episode, I’ll stick to the Willow Ptarmigan 😂

In 2017 I traveled to the Kenai National wildlife refuge for a bear hunt. I did this trip solo and I'm glad I did because I really learned a lot about myself and the game I was after. It was a black bear hunt and I wish I had packed my shotgun because everywhere I looked there were ptarmigan and grouse. I was just above the tree line at a place called twin lakes. When I saw your video I thought to myself... Is that twin lakes? Everywhere up there above the tree line looks very similar and I know you guys had a good time. Now the place I actually bought property at is in Manley Hot Springs. That's the first place I ever shot a ruffled grouse and many many spruce grouse. You just kind of road hunt up there and it's very productive. Didn't take us long to kill a legal limit. Message me back if you ever want to come up and hunt a different part of the state. We have a place to stay at and I never charge a friend to hunt with.

30 miles on a dog in one day!?! Those dogs are gonna to be cripples before they turn 8. I've seen it happen. Mine has a max per day of 14 even though he'd gladly run twice that. You have to have restraint on the dog or the joints are going to be gone in their prime years.
