Tatum had possession. it should've been a no call with the celtics on a fastbreak the other way ideally and with the challenge, even with the celtics winning the jump, should've been automatically celtics ball. imagine as well if JB complained about those 2 hits to the head like lebron did with his no-call. i'd bet a ton of money JB gets a technical.

you could think of it this way. if the refs properly called a flagrant foul on beverly on the jb rebound and putback before the laker's last possession, the celtics would've retained possession and the lakers would've had to foul. you can scour other highlights as well and JB was hit twice on the head in this game. 1 was a regular foul, 1 was a no call. according to the rules this season, contact on the head is an automatic flagrant 1 (much like the whole you can't step under a shooter's landing spot). it can be reviewed for possible flagrant 2 if there's windup, intent, etc. everybody's focusing on that last lebron no-call but ignoring the 2 flagrants JB should've gotten. this is why you see JB signaling that he got hit on his head/tapping on his head. that was supposed to be FT + possesion for the celtics.
@@goblinfn4461 i think this is a lesson on how to work the refs. lebron, say what you will about the man, but just showed a masterclass about how to work the refs without getting a technical. the only other player in the league who i think is as good at him at that is draymond green. this is why even if the basketball purist in me is annoyed when tatum complains to the refs, i understand why he does it. lebron, green and others gets away with it. it takes work but there's rewards to be reaped later on. of course ideally, i'd rather the officiating be fair and no one gets superstar calls or calls because you manipulated the refs but this is a sad fact in the nba.
