My wife and I both have disabilities and we each have a parking badge. However, our handicap isn't obvious. Unless you know our medical history. Which is nobodies ones business. That's why i no longer go to them (tried - barely made it in the door). Took about an hour and a half to walk in and get to the first store after Macy's. Smelled like they had a perfume battle and that did it. Almost had to call for help (at least someone that could get a wheelchair for me and get me the hell out of there) Stage 3 copd and a screwed up spine changes your life. I've had my placard and been on disability since i was in my late 30s. Don't ever judge a book by its cover. What passed me of though is when I'm waiting for a spot to park in and someone comes from the other way and takes it - then they run (literally) into the store! I put my day on hold and trap them in so i can make their day take a little longer since they're in such a rush. They don't like me afterwards - but hopefully they get the hint to quit using someone else's disability for their benefit

My MIL had MS and some days you couldn’t tell. She had a limp neck that on good days she could wear a brace to hold up and walk normal but could get half way to the store and struggle to walk. She could not drive so I drove her. She would pit her placard in the window so I could drive her where she needed and park close. Once a woman ran up screaming at me for not being disabled. At the time I had a brace on my left leg and had crutches. So I slowly got out. Grabbed the crutches and walked my MIL in the store while she stood there still screaming at me. Why interact with them? Just ignore them roll up your window and get out of the car. You don’t have anything to prove so why argue.
If she comes to me like this and speak and I would be quiet then let her waste her breath until she sees me signing ASL with my friends and said “what did she say?” That would make her feel so embarrassed for sure and walk away. So, my elderly Mom was in the hospital. I came into town to assist matters- my elderly Dad says take his car to the hospital as it has a handicap license plate. I parked right up-front door in handicap spot. I felt guilty- so I limped when I walked out of the car. My Mom was asleep- so I limped back to the car and moved it out of the handicap stall. To be fair, I have severe chronic pain which is an invisible disability, I appear "normal" whatever normal is, and have a disability sticker.
I'm not bothered as often anymore but people used to question me as well.

So, my elderly Mom was in the hospital. I came into town to assist matters- my elderly Dad says take his car to the hospital as it has a handicap license plate. I parked right up-front door in handicap spot. I felt guilty- so I limped when I walked out of the car. My Mom was asleep- so I limped back to the car and moved it out of the handicap stall. Some people abuse this- but this guy appears legit-from his commentary- she's a nut case.
