Thanks for sharing. Uiteraard geabonneerd.
great video. tip no256- open the oil filling cap when draining, fill the filter with oil before putting it on. oil level must be checked on the center stand according the manual.
I agree with the above - top up cup not loosened can create a bit of vacuum so it's good to let the air in - same rule for tanks or radiators. I also warm up the engine before oil change so it flows better as well as flush the engine with a bit of extra new oil before putting new in. Does anyone know what's the oil expansion ratio between cold and hot for measuring correct level and should it be measured hot or cold according to manual (am looking for one for F800GSA Adventure 2014)?
Buenos notches 😂. Lekker bezig! 👍🏻
Hoi Erik, zeker doen.
Can someone explain why some have the led strip light with the two smal circle brights near the radiator and others like this one don’t? Is that the adventure spec or maybe a US spec? I bought a 2015 F800 GS adventure back home with the help of my dad. Still haven’t seen it in person. Can’t wait to ride it!!!
Great Video !!! Question as far i see oil filter torque are 11nm but…. On oil filter specs Mahle OC619 type BMW oem Torque its 20nm … i wonder why this difference..? Ill apprecciate your comments
I did the service today. With the machine at operating temperature the oil level in the engine was at its maximum, and I used 2400ml of oil (original BMW 15W-50)...
Hallo old mechanic.
Hi Ziad, in my point of view its the best of both worlds, and for a good prize too. With full synthetic there is the possibility (with a wet clutch) that its simple to slippery, and the plates starts to slip you know. The Castrol that I use is, for me, just the best. I never had a problem with it and my own R1200GS has barely any oil consuption, so why change it to another oil ? But if you want to use full synt oil, go ahead 😉👍🤛🏍
@@johnpej122 they recommend 10W40 for colder climates and 15W40 for warmer climates (atleast for my 2009 model) Full synthetic shouldn’t be used according to BMW. My Manual actually says to only use non synthetic oil, but BMW also specifically tested and approved Castrol Power 1 4T for the F800

Do you have a vide to change the spark plugs to the same bike - F800GS?
Why do you use 10W40 instead of 15W50 as described in the BMW manual?
It was 10W40 before. BMW changed the recommended specification....
My 2014 F800GSA uses 15W50.
Hi, nice video. Do you known what size is the crush washer?

Good question, I always go by the BMW official workshop manual and inthere is the torque for the oilfilter which is 11 Nm 😉

Super leerzame video!
how much oil was it in total (with new empty filter)?
Hi Chris I never look how much I put in, as I am filling it up to the right level you know 😉

That oil looked very dirty. How many miles/kms since the last oil change?
Hi David I don't know. It was maintained by a BMW dealer..
I was thinking the same thing. Oil looks like the engine is kaput. Silver shavings. Also manual suggesting 15-50 oil, any reason for 10-40.
@@dirtgarageman Depends on climate area...
@@dirtgaragemanmanuel suggested 10w40 before, BMW changed it at some point
