Hi, I'm from South Africa...the tree is a shavebrush tree. The reason the talapia were not feeding is because they are guarding the nest ( patch of bare sand ). They hardly eat then, they have finished spawning. Fist talapia was a Redbreast end the other Mozambique or Blue Talapia....never knew Florida had them!! Great video💪🏻👌🏻👍🏻
We catch them in Hawaii canals and streams with bread balls. Eat the Invasives is a thing here. Large event for catch and cook. Fish, crab, pigs, goats and fowl... Plus fruits
@@SunsOutFishing also a South African here. Our record is 9 talapia species over a weekend fishing in Swaziland on a private dam. My favorite fish to catch in SA. You can cast a Mepps Black fury spinner past the nest a retrieve it over the nests. The fish will attack the lure to keep it out of the nest. Awesome video, thanks.
@@DVTREALMAN150 I am from Zimbabwe. One weekend we decided to go to Kariba to do a weekend of fishing. There were 5 of us. Our 4 day trip was reduced to less than 24 hr because the deep freeze we took with us was full in less than a day. 635 bream, tilapia, in total. It was a 9 cubic ft freezer. Sadly many of the fish we caught went rotten because we were fulling the freezer to fast.
The most important thing I ever learned about bow fishing is once you think you have aimed low enough, aim even lower. The refraction of light takes a lot of practice to figure out with depth.
What an AMAZING show! You always bring something exciting and new. and share great info! Missed you last week but this was worth the wait! Cant wait to see whats next!!
I’ve caught several tilapia using a weighted hook. Try and find something heavy enough that you can place it directly in the bed. They will immediately pick it up to move it, and that’s when the fun starts. I’ve even caught one on lure that was heavy enough to place in the bed. Once they pick it up set the hook.
When you interviewed the two young ladies and found out about the rescued animals that was a great turning point for your show, I found out about your channel from your friend Vikor from Landshark Outdoors you guys were fishing and catching Blackfin Tuna, Great Content!
Namaste the best way to catch talapia is using flour, we make dumplings with the flour and boil it half way cooked and then cut it up and put it on the hook and catch them with it.
Awesome video! You now have an Aussie fan! Go Florida! I have never used a bow and arrow to go fishing, man it's good to watch you guys. Thanks to the Lady who cooked the Talapia fish recipe. I am going to try it. Thanks a million!
The beds you are referring to are spawning nests. Tilapia likes to keep the nests clean. You can catch them by making the nest "dirty". Cast your worms past the nest, without the floats, and slowly pull your worm back into the nest. The tilapia will be pissed and will clean the nest. You know the rest.
Use a small hooks and one piece of styrofoam it's hate styrofoam more than worms especially if the tilapia have a red cheeks which indicates that they're in mating mode@@SunsOutFishing
Clicked for the absolutely mental title, and very glad I did! Amazing content for any channel, much less a relatively “small” channel. Keep up the good work!
That’s a Mimosa tree bro!! Super beautiful trees the blooms smell amazing. They’re all over the east coast. The blooms are usually pink or a really nice red
I've caught big tilapia on bread but when they are bedding I actually use artificial. This only works for the smaller males that are guarding the beds but they will attack anything u reel past them so I take a little grub crappie jig and cut the curly tail off so its very small and it takes a few cast but they usually always will eat it.
I have 4 cats … and I use cat talk to them during feeding time .. as well as tap my cat dishes together at the same time … they all come running …. And talk back … awesome
Tilapia like oatmeal balls, like carp. Take some quick oats and drop a tiny bit of vanilla extract and roll it into a ball. You'd think it'd get water logged and fall off, but they'll sit out there for a while and not fall apart. Also, it keeps your hands from smelling like fish. 😆
If I live in Florida I will be happy because a lot of free food I will cook sweet and sour tilapia so many food I will cook and eat..good video dude keep it up
Florida is pretty incredible for fishing because of all the invasive species (obviously not great, but you have to make the most of it). You get Talapia from Mozambique, armored catfish from Brazil, Peacock Bass from Guyana, snake heads from Vietnam, and native species like Gar.
Great work! What a good idea. I had no idea these fish had made it to FL. Like we need anther invasive species. Too bad, but at least you are making lemonade out of it.
well.. the first flowers you show, in México is called “clavellina“ in reference to a carnation flower.. the yellow ones is called “lluvia de oro“ or rain of gold and the tree is called guayacán or araguaney. Greetns from Guadalajara, Mexico.. nice fishing trips!!
Yeah they were super spooky in this shallow water. The net was a last minute buy from Walmart and it wasn’t big enough or heavy enough to get them this day.
What is better than meeting two hot young ladies with brains and big hearts. Taking care of sick and wounded animals is a tough job and the big heart is required. Then you top it off fishing. look it up, that's a good day.
When the Tila[ia are bed down like that they usually won't go after the worm as they are protecting the nest which is that bare sand at the bottom below them. The best is to use a panther martine classic spinner or a bumble Bee spinnerbait and bring it right over the top of the nest and they will attack it to protect the nest. Tha is the best way to catch them when bedded.
Tilapia are mostly vegetarian--and I have used twists of that green algae one often finds in clean streams. They suck it in and one has to be aware of the slightest pull on the line as they do so. A float might be a good indicator.
For tilapia u need the bread to float. Super light hook and don’t smash the bread on. Leave it fluffy on one side by the barb. Smash only a tiny bit around the hook shaft. Stay back so they can’t see you. Chum up the water with some bread before you throw the bated hook.
I have one in my front yard ..."The "powderpuff" is an excellent evergreen shrub for central to south Florida. The beautiful, flagrant bloom is a main reason for its popularity and becomes a magnet for hummingbirds. Native to Bolivia, the powderpuff has become a staple in Florida landscapes."
I just made a bowfishing video a week ago on my channel. So fun, hit two Talipia with one shot that day. Have made a few vids on bowfishing them. They will eat worms under a bobber, hard but it has to be deeper water. Always fun in Paradise. Hard to clean though. LOL...Good vid you two.👍👍

Good eating fish especially the big blue kurper oh we call them kurper in South Africa
That is a mimosa tree. We had a couple around the pond I grew up fishing.

Haha I was thinking the same thing!
Tilapia are mostly vegetarian--and I have used twists of that green algae one often finds in clean streams. They suck it in and one has to be aware of the slightest pull on the line as they do so. A float might be a good indicator.
Try using corn for bait. Drain a can of corn and bring it along to catch tilapia. They are known to be herbivores. Doughballs can work well also.
Good advice. I’ll try that next time 🙏
I actually slayed tilapia in south Florida with processed cheese on a small hook. In the heat oils leak off the cheese and drew them in like crazy
