My exact thoughts. This is a second chance theatre, i.e. a sketch he just sorta did as part of a talk show after not really ever being in that role, and he still kills it with his acting skills!
a person like Jason Sudeikis is what SNL is missing right now.... he can just go on and on and keep things funny... and that's why he is starring in big comedies.
Yes and the sketch is better than 90% of the sketches of the past couple of years. It’s also better than about 30% to 50% of the sketches back when Jason was on the show.
This shows that the process for picking which sketches make it to the live show is in perfect. I’m not saying it’s a great sketch, but there is some funny material in there and A lot of the lines are kind of funny and Jason makes the vast majority of the sketch funny.
Jason Sudeikis and Fred Armisen are awesome. Also, Lutz messing up and Sudeikis add libbing that juggling with words quote were the best thing in the sketch. Why didnt this air on SNL during their time there will always be on my mind.
Well the sketch is really long for your regular SNL sketch duration. Maybe they couldn't find a way to condense it and maybe it took up too much time. Maybe it bombed at dress rehearsal (some audiences can be really humourless) as well. But its hella hilarious, the messing up of the words, improvisation and giggles all make it even better. Also Fred's silent role is brilliant.
***** Yes. I remember Seth saying to Jason that the reason it got cut several times was that it was practically just a Sudeikis monologue and they couldnt have him just doing that. But I can recall that in recent times, Bobby Moynihan and Cecily Strong do those sketches where they get fired and go on a rambling on all the cast members and those dont get cut. I guess Seth changed his mind after Jason. Not hating on Seth or the getting fired sketches. Both are super funny. But I guess I really like Jason and this skecth
***** watch the Sudeikis interview on Late Night and you'll se Seth and Jason talking about the sketch. It was a while ago. Funny stuff that interview. They show a GIF of Jason at the oscars too
"Plus you smell...awful...like old sex had drunk...old sex had...like eggs...like old eggs... Like old people having sex with eggs in a bag of horses**t" Yep, made my whole day worthwhile :D
Haha, great sketch. I thought for sure this would be a five minute sketch, then a five minute interview, then a minute of the theme music BLARING at the end (1 out of 3). Because I thought there's no way a sketch that lasts for 11 minutes would be good. But I was wrong! Good one.
Lutz! I'm very impressed with Fred Armison's extremely straight face. Cute sketch -just a bit too long but pretty funny. I'm glad Seth does these recreations of sketches we've never seen.
I just watched a bunch of these "Second Chance" sketches & this was the best by far... this was the only one where I don't see why it didn't air, it's much better than a lot of things that did (the others were kinda amusing, you can see why they didn't air, the funniest part being the Q&A where they talked about how they bombed)
Yes. So, let's reiterate: The flyer has been up for 24 months, half the amount of months in which he has moved around between 8 different cities. Now, I'll admit that I'm confused....confused what you are confused about to begin with. Did you somehow think the math didn't work out? How many months do you think are in one year?
I absolutely loved this sketch but It wouldve been great if, at the end, Fred Armisen stood up and started juggling and said he just learned how by watching TH-cam or from some other website.
That music man. I know I'm beating a dead horse here but... It's so loud, and that's just it. The music at the end of the clip with the picture of you and you've got your arms crossed and it's too loud. Again! My cat is now awake cause of that music volume level. The whole rest of the clip was great. Again I love Fred and you were also in the clip. Mostly just at the end with the dang loud music and all your arms crossed up wearing a suit and smiling all photo shopped, looking good I might add. Don't ever even think of replacing your photoshop guy cause what ever you're paying him he deserves more. Just please would you at least consider lowering the volume! I'm starting to think of giving a thumbs down. However, I love Jason Sudacus, "seven minutes in heaven" and of course Fredrick Armor son. Do it for my cat at least. I can't sleep so I watch the clips and the the music is too loud so my cat can't sleep. For the love of Pete (that's my cats name) lower the volume. God bless
This demonstrates how talented Jason Sudeikis really is. It takes a great talent to drive a sketch alone for that long.
My exact thoughts. This is a second chance theatre, i.e. a sketch he just sorta did as part of a talk show after not really ever being in that role, and he still kills it with his acting skills!
Nah, that cardboard cutout of Fred Armisen really carries this sketch.
Fred Armison doesn't say a single word and killed it.
I thought they were going to find out he died until he moved his hands after Jason took the laptop away
Do you know who played the guy with the lady? He looked familiar
a person like Jason Sudeikis is what SNL is missing right now.... he can just go on and on and keep things funny... and that's why he is starring in big comedies.
He's not that funny and he's not starring in any big comedies. But he is married to Olivia Wilde so it's all good in his life.
SNL is great right now
SNL sucks these days. I guess SNL is still good if you are in high school 😣
@@MysticDonBlair ok boomer
lol yeah and I bet the period you love took place while you were un highschool
The way Jason was able to make me feel for him in the beginning when he saw no one took a tab from his flyer.
It’s the Ted Lasso sad puppy eyes at 1:39 🥺. The whole audience awww’ed for a reason. Me too.
I love how Jason and Fred were both killing it on completely different ends of the spectrum

Oh really? I didn't know that. Yeap, the 'firings' sketches are indeed quite similar to this.
***** watch the Sudeikis interview on Late Night and you'll se Seth and Jason talking about the sketch. It was a while ago. Funny stuff that interview. They show a GIF of Jason at the oscars too
Ha, lutz didn’t mess up. He nailed it.
You know, I can see why they didn't put this on SNL, but this would actually make a pretty good ten-minute play.
Well, Jason is a sports coach now
This shouldn't be called Second Chance Theatre. It should be called This Is What Lorne Michael Sometimes Has To Deal With It.
Or how about Sentences The Structure Of Which You Totally Messed It Up?

"it's very specific and i just came up with it" omg lutz!!!
Jason Sudeikis is a force of nature.
I would gladly take juggling lessons from Jason Sudeikis any day.
+Maia Bracamontes For real, is juggling lessons a euphemism for anything? Sign me up.
KimSuecutie I just feel really bad for him:(
Yea, Juggling DEEZ NUTS.
Weird
Can't believe it took a year before somebody posted a "DEEZ NUTS" themed response when it was teed up like that, LOL!
This got amazing when they started to screw up and improvise.
True.
That was really impressive .
"Plus you smell...awful...like old sex had drunk...old sex had...like eggs...like old eggs... Like old people having sex with eggs in a bag of horses**t" Yep, made my whole day worthwhile :D
"your ability to whip up, turn a phrase... the way i juggle balls, the way you juggle words..." --this is why they are amazing improv players
I don't know the original line, but I'm pretty sure that was 10x better than it lol
This is why improv always beats sketch in my opinion. Almost no comparison sometimes.
pihla01 Quote of the century
Did anyone see the flier "Need help with your taxes call donald."
Arthur BRIAND No! Nice catch!!
I lost it when o'brien reached for the VHS flyer.
Wow I never realized this was 11 minutes! It flows so well. I'm still shocked that it didn't make it on SNL
Too long, maybe?
I've been binge watching every snl video with Jason in it
I’ll take juggling lessons!! I just don’t wanna see Jason sad like that again 😭
10:30 = Sudeikis's reaction when Seth told him this sketch was finally going to air
Sudeikis’s Ted Lasso character is somewhere in there. He makes this look effortless.
never seen Lutz really laugh before, as a 30 rock fan it made me so happy :)))
Do you know who played the guy with the lady? He looked familiar
"...dogs bark at you..."
"Cats, too."
😂😂😂
I want sure if that was planned, or if it was another mess up where a line was missed, cried didn't seem to even Google
This is a great sketch, probably a bit too long for SNL. I'm just so impressed by Jason's acting.
Great improvisation by Jason!
I love these SNL cast They are amazing Thanks Seth Meyers for this
Do you know who played the guy with the lady? He looked familiar
Mike reaching for the used VHS player always cracks me up
From juggling coach to football coach, Jason really has cine a ling way
im glad this didnt get shortened and put on snl so we got to see it in it's full glory later here
"this is not even on" bit...totally improv.
If you look close you can see Fred almost breaking.

Emphasis on 'BLARING'.
This is better than a lot of what is currently aired on SNL. Excellent sketch, wish I'd seen it ten years ago.
This was epic. Thank you, Seth Meyers! Thank you for supporting the craft!
i was really hoping the punchline was gonna be that he didnt actually know how to juggle
That would have been perfect
Same
Every flyer has the same phone number. Shoutout to the props department for making jokes too.
I fucking love Lutz, always funny as hell
10:31 I laughed so hard. he's dimple is showing while crying
i’d like to see more second chance theater it’s my favorite
Awww,I missed Jason
You always take the first tab to create the buzz and perceived demand.
Lutz! I'm very impressed with Fred Armison's extremely straight face. Cute sketch -just a bit too long but pretty funny. I'm glad Seth does these recreations of sketches we've never seen.
I saw Renaldo and Aleki in the into. PLEASE bring that back. That is my all time favorite sketch and it never aired.
I can see why they rejected Jennjamin Franklin, but this was pretty good.
Thank you!
Fred Armisen and his Laptop bahahaaaaa
Fred Armisen is hilarious even without words.
i laughed so hard. more than any sketch from snl in the last few episodes
Having seen a few of these Second Chance sketches, I get why they were cut, but not this one. This was really good.
Fun to see the improv part of this, but the other 10 minutes made sense why it was cut from SNL
I wish Mike O'Brien was still on SNL
That makes two of you. (the other person is Mike O'Brien)
Katie Hoer him and Brooks Whelan.
I'm 2:45 in and this is already better than the entire episode of SNL that Cameron Diaz hosted at the weekend.
Yep, this season of SNL is probably the worst one so far
So true
matilda290 it's not all bad sarah silverman's and jim carrey's were great.
When he tears off some flyers, it should have revealed another juggling lessons flyer from a different person with all/most tabs pulled

The flyer's been up for two years. But he's lived in 8 cities in the last 42 months.
He lived in 7 cities over 1.5 years, then moved to the current city
Yes. So, let's reiterate:
