It should be a standard sound generation for every EV including ebikes and mobility devices. It's a distinctive enough sound that it could easily become recognizable as an electric vehicle approaching.
t cakes I agree. It actually fits the car. A Tesla Model S should get a noice makers that sounds like a V8 supercar because it’s gas car killer. Jaguar I-Pace sounds awesome with that jet like sound that makes it look like a UFO which actually fits it very well because the car looks like a UFO.
Apparently tesla did something vaguely similar to this in their boombox update.... with external speaker and all (Which already existed in the car)... I totally would try the jetson sound!
@@Farie977 "poses risks" -- they're just afraid some jackass like me would change the "engine" sound to something like George Carlin listing the "Seven Sacred Words" on repeat.
Trying to find out where a kit like this would be available. I know that there are manufacturers that build cars that have these, but is there an aftermarket kit?
It is possible there is a CAN bus with speed or RPM messages. Tap that, code some micro with a CAN library and output the sound proportional to speed or RPM.
I was thinking about this yesterday 😂 This sound would be hilarious or a sound where someone makes the exhaust noises using their mouth. Either would definitely make other drivers laugh and put them in a good mood.
It's also part of the joke how electric car owner's INSIST in having internal combustion sounds on their electric toy 😂😂 otherwise it's just a remote controlled car sound Lmfao
It's perfect! The car's ridiculous. It needs to sound silly in order to truly to live up to what it is. Too bad BMW doesn't buy the copyright to the sound and actually use it 👍🏻
The government mandates such things illegally, because it's just a violation of personal freedom. If you like annoying cartoonish sounds use them. Why should everyone else obliged to bear such torture? You would be ripping your ears off after 20 minutes, by the way.
This is the only sound they should be allowed to nake. BTW, I think the current sounds in the US are loud and annoying. Government needs to stay out of this.
Too bad, unlike the space cars in the Jetsons the garbage cars we have today like this piece of junk are not even slightly futuristic. We havent made a futuristic car since the 1957-1961 era. Why would anyone even buy sometning like this?
@@DaveFlogaus Do it for real, how hard could it be? It would be hilarious! But not just a recording of that sound, but sounds synthesized by the car app for high fidelity, and programmed in a way so that the sound revs up as you accelerate, and revs down as you slow to a stop, for the sake of realism. It occurred to me only now I actually need this type of sound for my hoverboard. I bought it a few months ago for the sole purpose hauling my DJ rig (I'm a busker) in downtown Tokyo. I managed to jury rig it to a heavy duty folding luggage cart. It works great! For years, I've been hauling my rig on rough pavement and cobblestone roads like a slave. So I'm pretty spent even before I start the gig. On the way home is worse because I would be drunk and exhausted. Now, I'm stylin! Anyway, Shibuya is jammed packed with pedestrians and many of them have their faces buried into their iphones. It is so annoying when they get in my way. With a sound, they would hear me coming. My hoverboard has built-in bluetooth speaker, which I disabled because I makes a loud activation announcement on the train. I'll reactivate it today. And I have a soft-synth software called Native Instruments Reaktor. I'm going to look into synthesizing something close to Jetson's car.
@@DaveFlogaus I did it! I'm making Jetson's Flying Car sounds on my hoverboard, or at least it sounds very close. Now those iPhone a-holes can hear me coming and should get out of my way. I found this awesome synthesizer/sequencer app called Seaquence: you can adjust Notes/Pitch, Beats Per Minutes, attack-decay -sustain-release. Within just minutes of messing with Seaquence, I created a sound that's very close to Jetson's car. But just the percolating bubbly sound, it lacks the whining whizzing sound. I can't wait to try it on those annoying iphone pedestrians. I hope you do the same with your car, install a dedicated bluetooth amp and speakers in the grill, people will love it! I know I would.
Road rage would be replaced by road laughter
EVs should be required by law to make this sound! The world would be much funnier....😁
nah, just the i3.
Imagine Chicago drive-by shootings lmao
nope
I prefer current EV sounds over this
and safer for pedestrians while in a parking lot tbh.
Electric vehicles should be banned and replaced with nuclear powered space cars like in the Jetsons
If I ever get an electric car I want THAT sound :P. It's hilarious :).

now imagine 30 such cars at traffic lights. ;.)...
Hyundai is going to offer customers the option to upload their own custom sounds starting next year I believe. I'm in.
Hell yeah
That would go horribly wrong. We can’t have nice things. You know there’s going to be those people who abuse it or troll
I love it!!!

the i3 looks silly so the noise is perfect…..

I'll drive that exact car if it makes that sound!

EVs are required to make noise when in motion, so the factory sound could be altered with this.
@dingusmcgee9075 It might be annoying, but it's not pointless. It's meant to let pedestrians hear the car. EVs are too quiet without it
I have always dreamed of this, with the background music from the original Mario game on NES.
The place in the video looks like a place I used to live nearby to.
If I were so inclined, I'm certain I could find it.
Please be inclined and find out the noisemaker. :)

Sorry but I thought it was actually installed on the car with speakers underneath..not impressed :(

I would use that sound effect for one of my own TV show creations.

It is the sound of a vintage Jetsons cartoon “air car” overlayed on video of an otherwise silent BMW i3.
