    Take a look at our garden this year! 2022 edition. A lot of you have been asking me to show you what we like to plant or have in our garden. I wanted to give you a quick garden tour so you can see what we have. Nothing too extravagant but I’d thought I’d share. The weather was kind of interesting this year. The hot sun came pretty late so our plants had a really short life span. Some of the plants that did really well this year include: Banana tree, peppers, lemongrass, medicinal herbs, corn, and some tomatoes.
    Hope you enjoy seeing our garden.
    *This video was filmed the last week of September
    Here’s a list of our yearly must plant:
    -Green onion
    -Cilantro
    -Dill
    -Chili peppers
    -Tomatoes
    -Greens
    -Kabocha squash
    -Basil
    -Wax corn

    My Name is Cindy Her, I am a full time Pastry Chef in the Pacific Northwest and part time food content creator for C.HerCreations (C.HawjCreations). I specifically focus on Hmong food I grew up eating but I also venture into other South East Asian food as well.As a second generation Hmong American woman, my goal is to teach you what Hmong people love to eat, what we cook, how we cook it, how it has evolved, and how we enjoy it. I want you to learn a little bit more about the Hmong food culture and I hope you all stay tuned on this culinary adventure with me. As always, happy cooking :) -Cindy Her [C.HerCreations]

    Please do a video from the beginning of the process for newbies. Everything starting from the what to do with each of the different seeds to the harvest would be awesome! Please ❤

    Beautiful video! Your garden is so peaceful and your voice is very soothing. I hope you will make an updated garden video for this year. Also, I would love to see content about your mom's herb garden and all of her chicken soup herbs.

    I come from a very dysfunctional Hmong family. Being able to experience Hmong culture and food again from a safe place is very therapeutic. Thank you for your beautiful videos! ❤

    What state are you in or the zone? Can your mom show me how to grow chayote? I can’t never grow it but love the veggies. Love your garden and video.

    Love your garden and how you work with your mom. My mom has passed away and I really miss her in the garden. Very special what you are sharing with your mom. I adore your channel and look forward to all your videos.

    My parents use to garden all of the time. I wish I appreciated more when I was younger. Now that I’m much older and they’ve already passed, I long for all their fresh Hmong produce that was so easily accessed from our garden.

    Definitely took gardening for granted. I’m too lazy to take care of a garden. But one I hope to have a little garden of my own.

    Thanks for the tour. I remember last years tour. Again, I find very impressive Lemongrass. I didn't have time to grow them this year. Will Try next year maybe. My ginger finally looked very nice this year with some young pale creamy yellow- pink roots.

    Looks amazing! I wish that I have more of a green thumb, but as long as the current plants that we have are thriving with the help of my husband then it's a win 😅

    I came to know just lately that you are Hmong. I love watching Hmong drams on you tube , even though I didn’t understand the language. The Hmong actors and actresses are sweet so as you. Love your recipes and have been trying them one by one. Thanks for your Vlogs . Keep on rolling girl. God bless you always. But ,by the way where r u residing now. Since you r showing the banana tree. Must have had a very good climate. Happy New Year to you and your clan.❤ from Canada.

    How do you guys grow and keep you banana plants alive through the winter? Do put some kind of protection around the banana plants during winter? What kind? I am asking because I have a couple of banana plants that I would like to plant on the ground. This will be my first time planting a banana and in the Seattle area. Thank you so much

    • @CHerCreations

      My dad likes to cover the roots with any greenhouse plastic sheets through the winter. And when spring comes again, he will unravel it.

      @@CHerCreations Thank you for that information. I am going to plant my bananas in the ground and do what your dad do each winter.

    Tell me please. I saw you put lemongrass in a vase with water for the new season. So he's been standing for a long time? Until the new season? Or after the roots grow, do you transplant them into the ground and keep them warm until the new season?

    • @bmiles4131
      @bmiles4131 ปีที่แล้ว

      They like to be warm. You plant outside when it’s warm, dig up if it will freeze.

    • @bmiles4131
      @bmiles4131 ปีที่แล้ว

      And while in water, always change the water every few days. Fresh water has oxygen in it, old water will rot them.
