Skylar S. I see, but still. Don't you think that was a little involved just for that? Because you can kill/kidnap her at the school by luring her to a non-populated area. I just think there's no need to kidnap one girl for ransom, only to let her go free, all just to lure another girl back to her house. I get the feeling the developer just created this elaborate scheme just for the sake of giving the player something interesting to do. The logic is a bit iffy to me. My main thing is that the mode is called "befriend". So I thought that would be like a non-lethal mode for people that don't want to murder her to take the more morally correct route.
+Rattmaster86 The Befriend option does end without bloodshed. Markiplier did the Betrayal end option. Yandere dev has mentioned repeatedly, Yandere-chan is a monster. Even if you don't kill Kokona, Musume (the kidnapped girl) is traumatized for life. Yanderes are psychopaths, that's why there are few ways to settle things peacefully. The only "morally correct" route is not implemented yet, the Matchmaking method. Yes it seems kinda complicated, but to quote Yandere dev "getting away with murder shouldn't be easy" and murder isn't the only option.

Well, in the final game, it will take EXTREMELY difficult to get away with your murders, due to a high amount of witnesses, and how you have to find your supplies.
That's one of several ways you can kill her. This is safer, but at least you don't have to clean all that blood on the ground or messing up her mind from day to day

I get the feeling the developer just created this elaborate scheme just for the sake of giving the player something interesting to do. The logic is a bit iffy to me. My main thing is that the mode is called "befriend". So I thought that would be like a non-lethal mode for people that don't want to murder her to take the more morally correct route.

Yandere dev has mentioned repeatedly, Yandere-chan is a monster. Even if you don't kill Kokona, Musume (the kidnapped girl) is traumatized for life. Yanderes are psychopaths, that's why there are few ways to settle things peacefully. The only "morally correct" route is not implemented yet, the Matchmaking method.
Yes it seems kinda complicated, but to quote Yandere dev "getting away with murder shouldn't be easy" and murder isn't the only option.
