As a Christian, I found this very interesting. Due to overwhelming negativity of the media, and stigma around the religion in 'Murica. You don't often get historical accounts of other religions, its predominantly "this religion is evil, cus it ain't ours". I really enjoyed this look at the Muslim faith. No snarky remarks, no harsh criticism I appreciate Khan for doing this historical time line, despite what could be said / happen in the comments section. More stuff like this needs to be talked about.
Refreshing to see someone research the stuff themselves and keep an open mind, rather than being forcefed drivel by the media and spouting the same.
You should live in Syria and let the Syrian Christians should live in America. Just wishing.

I actually live in Canada, and we have one of the largest allowances for Syrian Refugee's in the world, at the moment. I was just saying the predominant American media has a tendency to spout the Islam is evil, which is rather false. Islamic fundamentalists are, which isn't fair to damn an entire religion for. Even George Bush, back when 9/11 happened, said this, plus intolerance just breeds hate.

Why Christians r so jealous? Whenever i saw a story of jesus theres not a single muslim who mocked Christianity. Whenever i saw thr story of my beloved prophet Muhammad. Theres always sum Christians who luv to rage a crusade in the comment section.
It's the internet, it is a messed up place what do you expect from these people. People who criticize other religions only show the one face of the box and I am not talking about Christians only I am taking about all of the religious people and athiests too these include Muslims too.

Muslims in general don`t care to learn how Christians, let alone Jews view the Abrahamic Religion. Its logical for christians to read into a newest Abrahamic religion that claims to replace theirs as the true final final religion.
Muslims on the other hand, can completely ignore the existence of all Christian and Jewish writings as unreliable/fake..etc...so your observation logical.
The true issue I see with the Abrahamic religions in general, is that its subjective, and each individual can make a different reading of each scripture. Just read few comments below and you see people from same religion or same sect within that Abrahamic religion, argue on what Allah meant here and what this hadith meant there...etc.
This way of the Abrahamic creator to communicate with bani adam is unreliable...using books ? scripture ? today we have USB flash drives and TH-cam to store a message for eternity without such man made discrepancies...if you spend any time thinking about it, it becomes difficult to have faith in the Abrahamic version of The Creator (assuming this concept can be understood by mammals such as ourselves), for making such choices when he allegedly attempted to 'communicate' to us his 'Message' (Many would say him having a message for us in itself is proof the claim is false)

- All mosques before 710 AD were pointed at PETRA
- Mecca was first shown on arabic trade maps about 900 AD
- The Quran was very likely changed often after Mohammeds death

Jordan Hollins As Mr. Khan says in these series, we Muslims believe in the same chain of Prophets (sent by God to guide humanity and warn them of the hereafter) as Christians. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses etc
The main difference is, we believe (and I think Christians agree to this too?) that the original Bible was changed, edited by people and thus, the original message of God was lost with that.
Then later people started calling Jesus the Son of God (which the Quran in Chapter 19 'Mary' denies, saying "It is not befitting for God to take a son" meaning, God is so perfect, almighty, above all things, why would he need an offspring, a child?)
To us, the Quran is the last universal revelation of God through Muhammad (pbuh) for all humanity and to this day not even a single dot is changed in it.

As such, now we've reached the point where we have each started since the start of the second millennium for Christianity and the start of the first for Islamic Faithful. The crusades of Christianity where knights slaughtered many all in the name of God, it's all happening again. Only this time it is led by a man who is cowardly in his ways and lacking in wisdom and courtesy.

Lots of respect from a Sikh. I knew much of it and I learned more. I so much believe that the people who misunderstand Islam are mostly Muslim themselves. Muhammad challenged the current system then, where people were oppressing each other in name of religion and idols. He said there is nothing but one God and asked people to give up all false rituals and beliefs and follow God. He preached, spread love and truth and also fought against injustice. His fight was against people who oppress other in name of religion, who spread hate and evil. The true people of God were named Muslims. Now here is the main problem. When Muhammad said no one but a true muslim will go to heaven, or a muslim is true God's servant or a Muslim should marry only a true Muslim, he never meant a person who only believes in Islam, but any person, with any name, in any place, who do good deeds, believe in one God, under any religion, is a Muslim. Muslim is not a species or breed, but a terminology. Same is for a Sikh. Any person, anywhere, who believes in one God, do good deeds, is a Sikh. A Sikh means a student of a Guru. You follow your Guru, you are a Sikh! Not needed to be in Sikhism. So why to wish the world to follow Islam? Why to dream that? Why so much being behind it that many have killed others, many have convinced others, many have requested other, somehow, to follow Islam, to become a Muslim. Though there are many muslims through out the world if a Muslims means to do good deeds and believe in one God. (Awwal Allah Noor Upaya, Qudrat Keh Sab Banday. Aik Noor Keh Sub Jag Upajiya Kaun Bhale Ko Mandhe? God created light of which all the beings were born. And from this light, the universe; so who is good and who is bad?) Get open to others, get accepting, not only tolerate but understand other religions, many are saying same what Muhammad said, accept other people with heart, don't create a barrier by yourselves differentiating yourselves on grounds of righteousness and believers and see the difference. The world will know you, embrace and love you people, not only, but those amongst other people of God. Lots of love.

Belief in God and religion are two separate things. Religion is what you do believing in God. How your belief in God affects your decisions. Its the set of rules you develop and follow it. Honesty can be a religion. Helping others can be a religion. Work can be your religion. Many things you invent, many you discover that already exists in world. Its very simple thing, we make it a taboo. And then we know that taboo as a religion. The religion which becomes bigger than God itself. If you acknowledge, you will know that Guru Nanak, Muhammad, Jesus didn't actually wanted to make a new religion, but to abolish the current ones and make people just believe in one God. Slavery, idol worship, false beliefs were religion of Makkah in those times which Muhammad tried to resist and asked people to just follow one God and do simple good deeds. Slavery, untouchability, dowry, sati, false beliefs and rituals, forceful conversions was a religion in India, which Guru Nanak resisted and asked people to believe in one God/Allah/Waheguru with simple and good deeds.
Now if you want to call those changes brought by these prophets as religion, then yes Guru Nanak made his own. Trust me, in those times, in name of Islam and Hinduism, people where doing all those horrible deeds which neither of the religion was made for. And Guru Nanak was an enlightened one, had his own revelations from God and walked on path of bringing the change. The society was so misunderstood with religions that Islam and Hinduism was no where in its original form. It had very much become a place like Makkah and needed a change. Guru Nanak clearly announced, God is neither a muslim, nor a Hindu. There is just one God, and we must just follow his path. Trust me, from where ever Muhammad was watching this, would have taken a relief as people were doing all sort of things in name of Islam which he never asked them to. It takes a moment for a belief to turn into blind belief as there's a very thin line in between. And that had happened. Same like in Makkah, many people liked his views and many opposed him. People who followed him were called as Sikhs(student) and they formed a religion. It took almost 200 years for it to become a religion, with invented and discovered set of values that people follow like believing in nothing but one God, respect and accept all religions, never ask anyone to convert, selfless service (langar), die for others no matter what religion he/she follows, truthful conduct etc.
By saying such things do you know how ignorant you appear towards the whole world? So you thing nothing but Islam is right and true, no one but Muslims will be accepted later, all others are going wrong and will be losers? Does it make any sense, even with the logic and science of a religion? Very truly said by Guru Nanak, God is neither a Muslim, nor a Hindu. He is not at all interested in your religions. He is interested in your deeds, your devotion towards him and more importantly how you treat his creations. By saying such things you are creating a barrier between you and world. Like all others, world want to befriend muslims, be with them, embrace them. But you are so blindfolded with self righteousness and ignorance, that people step back from you. Some day visit Golden temple Gurudwara and see how many Muslims offer their devotion there, because they find Allah in Sikh scriptures too. Stop arguing on ways to believe in God, ways are not important, belief is.
So your saying 'your devotion towards him and more importantly how you treat his creations' is the ultimate guidance , say some thought his 'devotion' to God could be done through causing chaos , using drugs and telling lies , based on that I disagree with you and believe there's a wider moral code than what you say

This is a direct clarification from God that “fight the disbelievers” refers to the hostile disbelievers, not peaceful ones.

And in Quran 9:29 he tells Muslims to fight Christians and Jews until the Muslims get paid money. Nice to know that Islam is similar to Christianity in encouraging humanity to love one another. After all, God loves us all regardless of who we are.
That's not true. I'm not religious. I'm neither christian nor muslim. There's a huge difference between christianity and islam though. The difference becomes obvous when you compare the life of Jesus and the life of Mohammed. One person is pretty much just a peacefull preacher. The other person is a warlord, a politician etc. In other words in mohammed we have a person, who killed other people and he was deeply involved in politics. Now for most muslims mohammed serves as a role model. So it's not difficult to see why for most muslims their religion is political as well and why for many muslims killing non-muslims really isn't that much of a deal.
And i'm not just saying that. Look at what the penalty for apostasy is. Look how homosexuals and atheists are punished in islamic countries. And look at surveys of muslims views in those countries. Do your research. Islam is a very complex subject, there are far more extreme muslims then most think and terrorism is far from being the only problem in islam (for the west).

Who Built the Kaaba in the first place and why was it a religious cite ?
Why was Quraysh tribe in control of Mecca, and Why only they held the Keys of Kaaba ?
Where Did Abraham leave his wife and son, Hagar and Ismael, according to Bible?

Only one I remember right now is the kaba was built by a prophet and his son from the early ages as an order of God
The kabah was built by Adam (A.S) and the angels so he could worship God
The custody of the keys of kabah has a long story... Long story short after Abraham rebulit the kabah he held the keys and the generations possessed it til the generation of Quraish came and Muhammad was also Quraishi
It's not in my knowledge about where did Abraham left his family but the fact is they lived Arabian peninsula and Abraham was mostly not with his family as he was in search of God

Islam is very badly misunderstood. The "AllahuAkbur" joke is not funny and just mean. A few people may do bad things, but people have to look beyond that. If they do, they will see the beauty of Islam :D
I did look. I found the Kitab al-Hudud, which is frankly anti-human and evil. It shows Muhammed condoning a man stabbing his wife to death because the man afterward claimed that "she had slandered Muhammed." That is unacceptable to any peaceful person, and it's not in the Quran. The Muslims who seem to be actually peaceful are the ones who reject the Hadith (non-Quranical sayings).
CT, Hadiths, from what I understand, are little short narratives that were made after the death of Prophet Mohammad pbuh and are just strings of stories that are suppose to help you understand morals of life and such. In no way should it be taken as holy words.
You're right. I took my explanation from the Shi'a perspective since it's mostly what I know.
Any version of Shia that permits apostasy without jail/killing is probably acceptable as a religion. Some schools of Shia seem to fit that. A person should always be free to turn their back on a religion or pick a different one. After all, isn't "faith" the first pillar of Islam? A person isn't choosing to believe if there's no choice allowed.
