@ yep… just make sure you can ship what you need to where you are going … when I used to fly, I would call the place I would be staying and ask if I could ship items there… once I had permission, I would make arrangements for my luggage to be delivered and picked up after arriving … saved sooooooo much money doing that…

I'm addicted to these debates, particularly with Sen Hawley, I'm sitting here in Europe and can't get enough of him. As for the airlines, I'm convinced this is happening here too, Easyjet, Ryanair, and all other the European so called discount airlines, it's disgusting.
My roommate and I flew Spirit from Orlando to New Orleans. Spirit there and Frontier back. We had 1 checked bag and 1 carry-on. Our tickets were $123. With taxes and "fees," the total was $400. Pick your seat, but there are no "free" seats. Hawley is 100% correct. It's a miserable experience flying today. It feels like a game of "how can we screw the customer?" Obviously, they haven't changed their policy because this just happened in November. We don't even need to discuss the customer service.🤦♀️ From the ticket agent to the flight attendants, power-tripping bullies.

Yes the fees change for gender…. I’ve gone to sites enter information, and gotten results then changed servers on my vpn, went back and reentered my information for the same flight, day and time and only changing my age and gender,,, THE FEES WENT UP…. They charged more for females,,,

Flying used to be an absolute pleasure when I was young, and I happily travelled the world. I don't fly at all now, because it's become a stressful, and miserable experience, especially given I'm disabled, and find all the queuing very stressful. People should vote with their feet, and demand a far better service, before we start to fly again.
I have only flew on Spirit Airlines 2 times and I have to say, those were the 3 worst flights I have ever flown. I can't see how that they can stay in business, and why do people fly on Spirit Airlines.
We have this problem with Ryanair and EasyJet in Europe. It's a lottery as to the final costs of a flight. When booking online they add charge after charge and the final cost is substantially more than the original advertised price. Then at the airport if your bag is not to their liking you're charged more. I do not use budget airlines anymore, I find the final price is basically the same when using a quality carrier. If we don't stop using these airlines and hitting them where it hurts, this unethical price fixing will not stop.
I had an American Airlines Flight Attendant physically move my mask up the bridge of my nose & threaten me verbally because I moved it down in order to breath better in 2020

I had the worst experience at Dallas airport. Took almost 3 hours to find our gate. FINALLY found someone that showed us where to go. It was awful! The planes were disgustingly filthy! I remember pre-911 flying all the time. I flew 250K+ miles every year back in the mid 1990s. My luggage always weighed more than 50lbs (never a problem), my Carry-on was the same size as what the Stewardesses used (never a problem). We paid a ticket price and there were NO OTHER FEES unless we had to check TWO bags, and most of the time they just waived that fee. We were permitted two carry-ons (Laptop and Overhead). Now? That costs more than the ticket itself. Heck, back then if we were bumped from a flight they put us up in a local hotel if the next flight was the next day (with transportation to/from the airport), a food voucher for the airport, and a flight voucher valued up to $400 for the trouble of being pushed to the next available flight. Heck, many played the game of WANTING to be bumped because it was lucrative to do so. Now? "Get off...". sad.
Frontier Airlines charged me $200 for a checked bag. Only because I didn't check in online. From New Orleans to Philadelphia. One bag. One way. The ticket itself was over $200. These airlines are extorted us. Period.

I remember pre-911 flying all the time. I flew 250K+ miles every year back in the mid 1990s. My luggage always weighed more than 50lbs (never a problem), my Carry-on was the same size as what the Stewardesses used (never a problem). We paid a ticket price and there were NO OTHER FEES unless we had to check TWO bags, and most of the time they just waived that fee. We were permitted two carry-ons (Laptop and Overhead). Now? That costs more than the ticket itself. Heck, back then if we were bumped from a flight they put us up in a local hotel if the next flight was the next day (with transportation to/from the airport), a food voucher for the airport, and a flight voucher valued up to $400 for the trouble of being pushed to the next available flight. Heck, many played the game of WANTING to be bumped because it was lucrative to do so. Now? "Get off...". sad.

Frontier Airlines charged me $200 for a checked bag. Only because I didn't check in online. From New Orleans to Philadelphia. One bag. One way. The ticket itself was over $200. These airlines are extorted us. Period.
It was torture on Frontier. They left my baggage out in a hurricane on the tarmac and everything was drenched. Never again
This is why more whistleblowers wont come out...because they have no one backing them or shielding them from harrassement. WHY? BECAUSE THEY THINK THAT LAW IS ONLY FOR THOSE THEY THEY DEEM FIT OR FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT...ABOVE THE LAW INDEED! EVIL NARCISSISTS!

Frontier absolutely does it…..happened to me …not charged in Philly….. on return I was approached and she demanded that I pay for the same exact bag I had with while boarding in Philly
