    Just for the record I bought a Pepsi bezel for my Amphibia and decided it would look better on my blue Komandurskie and to my amazement it fitted perfectly. It matches the Red star on the dial and gets lots of admiring comments.

    Just thought I'd comment on this. I've received this model about 3 days ago, (I've now arrived at 3 vostoks in a very short time!), (just one more in the post as we speak!!), and have put a watch timing app on it for the last two. It has been 100% accurate, with no + or minus result to the second. This is 'out of the box' and not adjusted by me!! I've done the same mods as this, aside from I'm on a black nato, and it's the best looking watch I've ever owned!
    Anyone who says these are toys, is in denial about the costs of boutique watches IMO.
    Anyway, love the channel, so keep it up!!!

    These watches were designed for the military in the USSR, it was impossible to buy them in the store. They donated for good work, this is a legend and not just a watch. This is pure mechanics

    • @andrewd7586
      @andrewd7586 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Конь Впальто It was possible to buy them however on the Ruski black market in 1990!!!😎 I was in the former USSR then & was on a Contiki tour. We were approached by young Soviet soldiers in casual clothes asking “Would you like to buy votch.”... Yes that’s bloody ordinary Russian I know but believe me it was real cloak & dagger stuff then🤣 I bought maybe 6-8 watches & gave them as gifts once back home in Australia. Da I still have an original Vostok that still keeps great time👍🏼

    I did exactly this on my Amphibia 42 last night following your and other video's instructions and placed a Stainless CROWN FOR 71, 42, 96 cases and upon insertion I turned the crown counterclockwise upon insertion to ensure all moved smoothly and properly and I didn't turn clockwise nor release the spring holder until the crown lifted slightly while pressed against the threads of the case hole for it and then dropped (making dead clear my threads were completely aligned). I then turned the crown clockwise until it threaded fully down to the case when I released the stem holding spring. I then quickly pressed and instantly released the stem spring twice more to ensure it had sat properly and fully.
    I then unscrewed the crown, backed it out just a tiny fraction and turned it clockwise to see if the mainspring wound and it did. I then pulled the crown a little further out to try and change the time but at no position did the time change... and the entire crown and stem pulled completely out of the watch.
    I did the same twice more but with the exact same result.
    Am I doing something wrong, or is it my new crown has a likely defect causing the problem? Because this is in no way normal to be able to hand wind the spring but not change the time...

    Looking good 👍🏼 After I watched your initial video, I went looking for a Vostok. I settled on buying one from Meranom. I got a 160 cased one. Whilst there I looked at his other bits. I also got the stainless steel crown, and bezel. Also the 160 didn’t have the dial I wanted but meranom sells all the dials too, so I picked one I liked. They are only a little over $5. He also offers a service for a.m. extra $5 to fit al the extra bits before shipping. And for another $5 he’ll replace the dial too. So all in it still only cost me some $111. Still waiting for it to arrive. It left Russia’s on the 14th, so any day now… fingers crossed.

    Superb 👍 You saved me buying a pre-modded 710634 and a factory version, I like the watch with and without the modded bezel so now I can interchange them myself seeing as you made it look so easy. Might pick myself up the 710059 with the ‘savings’ cheers 👏

  • @fatkev1983
    @fatkev1983 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got another one... I just bought a 090660M, a nice heavy duty satin butterfly mesh bracelet, and a chunky satin replacement bezel with typical black Seiko SKX insert. I might throw in a new crown. I also saw replacement metal movement spacers... but that is probably a step further than is necessary for my vision.

      +fatkev1983 nice one! Nice clean dial. I am tempted to swap for a black date wheel. And try to find a caseback which lowers the profile.

    i got the same - 710 case, same bezel and dial on a black nato with brushed hardware /the iron loops on the nato/ and i just can't get enough of it. Probably thats why i ordered another .... those vostoks.
    Mine was running +45s a day, i adjusted it once with a slightest touch and for 3 months now it runs +3s a day. amazing isn't it /i mean the watch, not my skills :)/

  • @fatboab2181
    @fatboab2181 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Got exactly the same watch from a company in dresden, Germany called AM-DIVER already modded. New black and silver bezel and a brushed case. Bought a black rubber tropic strap and I have a scuba dude caseback coming from meranom. Also ordered a komandirskie and a new bezel for it as well. Shouldn't have, but you're only middle aged once. Love the t-shirt by the way. Didn't know the story but looked it up and it's a ripsnorter.

    Good video, definitely worth watching, thumbs up! One thing I don't believe you mentioned is the little retaining ring that runs on the inside track of the bezel. Its important that its not damaged and that it stays in the small groove in the bezel in order for the bezel pop back on. Also SOME sellers who sell the replacement Seiko style bezels don't provide the small wire retaining right so its important to take care of the original and properly install the bezel retaining ring on the new bezel. The retaining ring is usually a brass color, I think it's visible in your video just after you pop the original bezel and flip it over... at the 1:59. I'm also hooked, I bought one Russian Vostok, then another and just purchased my third.

    • @JustOneMoreWatch
      @JustOneMoreWatch  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man! Thanks for watching! You are correct! I didn't mention it in this video, but do in my Next Level Vostok Addiction vid where I mod a 420. Again, credit to Neal Rogers who dies a video on the importance of the ring. Cheers and happy modding!

    • @JAMaxeRestoration
      @JAMaxeRestoration 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll check out your "Next Level Vostok", video. Hey let me ask you. You changed the crown and answered someones question as to why you did that, you said the new crown is stainless. I'm wondering if you know what the original crowns are made from, chrome plated brass like the bezel?
      Also was your replacement crown also wobbly like the original crown? The wobbly crown is one of the the features of the Vostok's that I like and if in fact it works as a shock absorber like they claim... it's brilliant!

    • @JustOneMoreWatch
      @JustOneMoreWatch  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +JAMaxe Restoration yes mate, old one is chromed brass, new one still needs to be pulled out to its limits to engage, thereby minimising the chance of damage the crown stem if knocked. Soviet genius!

I tried to contact the seller, but no answer to my email which has me worried. Should have stuck with Meranom.com I guess. My Komandirskie is still on my wrist after buying a few months ago. It's still keeping perfect time to the second which amazes me still. Hopefully the Amphibia will be just as pleasing IF I receive it! Keep up the videos my friend.

    Is that an actual SKX bezel or just deigned similarly, just bought a Vostok and looking to get into modding.

    Could you possibly link the store where you bought the bezel?

    Are there specific things to look out for when choosing a bezel for s specific body?

      Loudinkooks go to meranom.com the possibility offical site of Vostok watches. Search for crowns or bezels or straps or whatever others mod you can think of. Front , back, case, hands. The list of bits for sale will come up. The description will list which body type the bit is compatible with. Reading the watch description also on the site will clue you in to what the bits description is talking about. Be aware that lots of stuff is out of stock at the moment, COVID-19 seems to be a problem in Russia as well.
