This song showed up at the hospital as I was holding my daughter for the very first time after she was born. God has a way of putting the right music in your life at the right moments in your life. Every time I hear this song it reminds me of that moment of unexplainable Joy that all parents feel in that magical moment.
The saxophonist probably doesn't realize that the intro phrase is already childish. Important notes are a half step off. There are too many such parts in this performance. That's what makes Satchmo's regacy a blasphemy. That's why Pat Metheny told him no.
@@hiroono1 The saxophonist was Kenny G. I thought he did a wonderful job with this tune! It is very difficult to reproduce a piece of music (with permission, of course), add to it, and get it right. Learning a tune like this, and playing it by ear on the piano, is a different thing, and ALMOST impossible, but I did it, after not seriously playing piano, since I was 10. The reason it's almost impossible, is that when you're listening to music on the stereo, when you hear it the notes change pitch ever so slightly, because of the shape of the ear drum. To try and mimic on the keyboard what you're hearing, you have to go up half an octave, before it "sounds right." The minute you do that, you end up having to play sharps and flats. My Father used to call this, "Playing in the cracks." There's that extra note in between each key, that nobody can seem to find . . . !

Well, I would play along to this song too. Who wouldn't? It's a lovely track. I often play like that at home, when I feel like playing some good stuff. Kenny G sold his recorded play-along - good for him. No one forced anyone to buy it. Kenny G is an OK musician and an OK artist.
