I do remember. A bend of the knees and ‘evening all’
Our current police force are a million years from the bobbies on the street.
I was arrested the other night. I’m insomniac and sometimes drive about at night. It was 11.30pm and I’d just pulled out of the all night garage, to use their cash machine as I needed money for the next day.
I saw the police behind me, I ignored them. I’m taxed insured and my car had just passed it’s MOT.
At the roundabout, I went left, they went right. I was driving up the hill, when I saw lights behind me. I slowed down thinking they would drive past.
No. They stopped me. I was dressed in pyjama shorts, a hoody and a pair of flip flops.
They asked if I’d been drinking. I said no. They pulled out the breathalyser and asked me to blow. I struggled, I was shocked and I’m asthmatic, it’s hard to breathe out without coughing.
I was then put in their car and told I was going to the police station to be breathalysed as I ‘clearly was unable to provide a road side one’
They left my car parked on a verge.
I was held 30 mins before I was re breathalysed and guess what. It was clear and I hadn’t been drinking.
The frankly intimidating 6.6 officer, I’m 4.10, was not in the least apologetic. I told him he was stressing me out at the road side. He honestly thought I had been drinking, despite showing him my NA key rings. I haven’t had a drink for over three years.
I have written a letter of complaint. That a 58 year old woman can’t be out at 11.30 at night unless they’re up to something nefarious just reminded me of their behaviour during the fake pandemic.
I’ll bet the 2 hours they took to process my non crime, they could have dealt with real crimes and criminals

"Christian pastor arrested for making 'homophobic statements' after preaching from the Bible, says he was treated 'shamefully' - and was 'doing what my job description says'": John Sherwood, 71, was led away in handcuffs, questioned in a police station and held overnight after being accused of making homophobic comments outside Uxbridge Station in west London." 2. So where was the slippery Rees-Mogg MP during Andrew Bridgen's vastly important, detailed and factual speech in the House of Commons last Friday 17 March??
JRM certainly wasn't in the Chamber. Was this due to his moral cowardice and total lack of professional integrity as an MP the same as everyone else, or what??

The police have stayed the same, it's the demographics which have changed.

How about a report into the freaks and criminals who frequent the House of Commons and Lords. Now those results would make the Met police findings look like a Noddy tea party by comparison

Since the requirement of refrigeration MUST also include either a full backup to ensure the low temperature is maintained along its an audio warning of temperature rise AND - given the availability of data signalling- a warning to the provider of the equipment that immediate maintenance is required... OR just have the audio alarm with a spare fridge/freezer for some junior staff member to transfer the contents under security supervision.
A plan that any 15 year old could knock up in a week long science project!

I think that harking back to a nostalgic police force fondly is a bit daft if honest ! I come from Somerset and have a dear friend who was adopted and physically assaulted by her father and stepmother. She ran away from home , and was picked up by the local bobbies , and was taken home . One of the police officers asked if he could have a word with her in private and proceeded to sexually assault her in her own kitchen ! She was 12 and it was 1982 ! I’ve heard many more dreadful accounts from people about the Police over the years. I’ve also had the good fortune to know some very good , moral police over the years. I am not sure of the answer to this situation. Better psychological evaluation perhaps ?
