HIV, which stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is a virus that attacks the immune system, specifically the CD4 cells (T cells), which play a crucial role in the body's immune response. Over time, HIV can destroy so many of these cells that the body becomes unable to fight off infections and diseases.
HIV is transmitted through the exchange of certain body fluids, including blood, semen, vaginal fluids, rectal fluids, and breast milk, from a person who has HIV. The primary modes of transmission include unprotected sexual intercourse, sharing of needles or syringes among drug users, and transmission from an infected mother to her child during childbirth or breastfeeding.
The progression of HIV infection is typically divided into several stages:
Acute HIV infection: This occurs within the first few weeks after exposure to the virus and may present with flu-like symptoms, such as fever, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes.
AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome): If HIV is left untreated, it can progress to AIDS. AIDS is the final stage of HIV infection, characterized by severe damage to the immune system. Individuals with AIDS are more susceptible to opportunistic infections and certain cancers. While there is no cure for HIV, it can be controlled with proper medical care. The standard treatment for HIV involves antiretroviral therapy (ART), a combination of medications that helps lower the viral load in the body, maintain a healthy immune system, and reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to others. It's important for individuals at risk of HIV to engage in safe sex practices, get regular testing, and seek medical care if diagnosed. Early detection and proper management can lead to a healthier and longer life for individuals living with HIV.
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) that can cause serious health problems without treatment. Infection develops in stages (primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary). Each stage can have different signs and symptoms.
Syphilis does not turn into HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Syphilis and HIV are two distinct sexually transmitted infections caused by different pathogens.
Syphilis is caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, while HIV is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. Both infections can be transmitted through sexual contact, but they have different modes of transmission, symptoms, and long-term effects on the body.
It's important to note that having one sexually transmitted infection does not cause the development of another. However, having one STI can increase the risk of acquiring another, as certain behaviors or factors that contribute to the transmission of one infection may also increase the risk of others. If you have concerns about STIs or HIV, it's essential to practice safe sex, get regular testing, and consult with healthcare professionals for accurate information and appropriate care.

Get tested after 90 days of exposure. Use condoms during oral sex as well.

After exposure i did all the test after 100 days all non reactive or negaetive...what is the accuracy of this ....then any test required future without any exposure can u pls reply

    • @staysafekerala

Testing negative for HIV and syphilis after 100 days post-exposure is a very encouraging sign. However, to ensure accuracy, it's generally recommended to get tested again after 3 months (approximately 90 days) post-exposure. The vast majority of HIV and syphilis tests are highly accurate after this window period, with modern tests detecting infections with a high degree of sensitivity.
For future testing without any new exposure, it's typically not necessary to undergo further testing unless there's a specific reason to do so, such as engaging in behaviors that may put you at risk for HIV or syphilis infection. However, it's always a good idea to discuss your individual risk factors and testing schedule with a healthcare provider, who can provide personalized recommendations based on your situation.

Syphilis is primarily transmitted through direct contact with syphilitic sores (chancres), which usually occur on the external genitals, vagina, anus, rectum, or lips and mouth. Here’s a detailed explanation of whether saliva can spread syphilis:
      ### Transmission Through Saliva
      1. **Direct Contact with Sores**:
      - **Yes, Potentially**: If a person has a syphilitic sore (chancre) in their mouth, syphilis can be transmitted through direct contact with that sore during activities such as kissing or oral sex.
      - **No, Not Typically**: Saliva itself does not contain the Treponema pallidum bacterium responsible for syphilis in the absence of sores. Therefore, casual contact like sharing utensils, drinking glasses, or kissing without sores present does not transmit syphilis.
      ### Key Points
      1. **Kissing**: Syphilis can be spread through kissing if one person has a sore in their mouth. The bacterium can be transmitted through the contact of mucous membranes.
      2. **Oral Sex**: Oral sex can transmit syphilis if one partner has a sore on their genitals, anus, or in their mouth. The bacterium can enter the body through tiny cuts or abrasions in the mouth.
      3. **Saliva Alone**: Saliva without the presence of sores or blood does not typically transmit syphilis.
      ### Prevention
      - **Avoid Direct Contact with Sores**: If you know your partner has a syphilitic sore, avoid direct contact with the affected area.
      - **Regular Testing**: Regular STI testing and open communication with sexual partners about STI status can help prevent the transmission of syphilis and other STIs.
      - **Barrier Methods**: Using condoms or dental dams during oral, vaginal, and anal sex can reduce the risk of transmitting syphilis.
      ### Summary
Saliva alone does not spread syphilis. The primary mode of transmission is through direct contact with syphilitic sores. If sores are present in the mouth, syphilis can be transmitted through kissing or oral sex. Using preventive measures and seeking regular testing can help minimize the risk of transmission.

Balanitis is inflammation of the foreskin and head of the penis, and it can have various causes, including infections, irritations, or other underlying medical conditions. It's not always associated with sexually transmitted infections (STIs), but it can be in some cases.
If you have had unprotected oral sex and are experiencing symptoms like itching, it's essential to communicate openly with your healthcare provider. They can perform tests, evaluate your symptoms, and provide a proper diagnosis. Be honest with your doctor about your sexual activity, as this information is crucial for an accurate assessment.
Remember that seeking professional medical advice is crucial for any concerns about your sexual health. If you're unsure about your symptoms or diagnosis, it's recommended to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized guidance and appropriate testing.
