I appreciate your honesty about what you really think of this song . I feel the same way about Free Fallin and What a Wonderful World. I hate both of those songs so when people ask me if I know how to play either of them I just flat-out say "no" ; )
Thank you! This accompaniment is slightly different from "Feliz Navidad." Great to have both! Having lived at the beach for 30+ years and listened to numerous musicians play at local beach clubs, my guess is "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison was your most requested song on the cruise ship.
Fun tutorial. You mention he was a baritone (me too). The lower octaves best match my voice. But is it better to play in a different octave (in my case higher) than you sing in for a contrast?

Definitely sing it in whatever octave is most comfortable to you. I jumped octaves a few times since it was so low for my voice.
