  • In this video we take a look at the 2 panel death card of Karl Strobl, a Fusilier in Kompany 12 of Fusilier Regiment Feldherrnhalle, part of Panzergrenadier Division Feldherrnhalle. He was killed by a shrapnel wound to the head at Auwere, near Narva. The division would be destroyed for the second time at Minsk only a few months later. #ww2 #militaria #sterbebildseptember

    An interesting example to a unit that doesn't come up too often, thanks for the upload Humble. Concerning Ancestry updating cards, another reason might be that someone has corrected a mistake with his name so when you searched a second time, that is why you found him. You have probably noticed that on occasions the translation of the information on the card is way off.

      Hi Will, I hadn't thought about that but it's certainly a possibility. Like you said, sometimes those translations are quite inaccurate.
