    to the west these are pictures, to Iraqis these are lost lives and families destroyed, a lost identity and a country that will never rest after a cruel invasion.

      Is that really what you people think? That Iraq crashed planes into America? Despite Dick Cheney, Blair and Bush admitting that it was a mistake. There's an entire paper trail where the US intelligence committee said it was nothing to do with Iraq.
      How can you justify this? Imagine if someone walks into your country and reduces it to rubble. What will you do? Exactly, when someone from the Middle East does something like join a rebel group, we call it "terrorism"
      Yet, if we do it we call it "defence".

    My family was shot at by ( I believe were the Marines ) in Iraq, yes, so one time I, my parents, and three siblings were in the car when my dad was driving in traffic and my dad was changing lanes passing cars until his car was the first one and I saw the soldier yell stop and had his hand out but it was too fast for my dad to react so they shot our car and then the engine smoked, we stopped and looked and they fled off when they knew it was a harmless family in the car. Luckily they shot at the lower part of the car and no one was seriously hurt, except my sister where a bullet scratched her foot.
    Edit: I was super young when it happened but my dad confirmed it was Blackwater who shot us and not the Marines

  • @sophiethepegasus
    @sophiethepegasus 6 ปีที่แล้ว +206

    The first action was to shoot? The first decision? They had no idea who was in that car, and they orphaned and traumatised 6 children. I want to know if any of those soldiers ever felt guilt for the despicable acts they inflicted on civilians.

    • @integradc5k24a2
      @integradc5k24a2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      You should watch the movie "Hondros" dedicated to him. It gives a good insight on one of the soldiers guilt, how he felt, and a recent interview of the little girl now at 18 years of age and how that incident has effected her life. You really gotta watch it if you wanna know more about he story.

    • @natalierozean5989
      @natalierozean5989 6 ปีที่แล้ว +64

      The soldier had a split second to make decision. Shoot or perhaps himself and everyone else blows up. You had years, photos and hindsight to reflect upon and judge his actions. Try to be empathetic to him for just a sec. ( mind you empathy doesn’t mean you would make the same choice), but put yourself in his boots... in his location... under those circumstances. NOT AWARE there were children, not knowing why they weren’t stopping ( and YES they indeed learn STOP in their language,their lives depend on not getting lost in translation), not knowing why they were erratically speeding towards them, not knowing if they have guns or the car is a speeding bomb... AND they are in a war zone. So most people would shoot first or be shot. I would, too. There are casualties of war. He did not maliciously murder anyone. This is war. Just put yourself in his place. If he would’ve been SOLDIER SAFETY FIRST and kindly pulled them over to ask questions and they had been armed or had a bomb, they ALL would’ve been blown to sh*t. And people would be calling him an idiot. You have the luxury of 20/20. He had a split second of WTF?!??

For the Americans, what happened to this kid is no exception.All American Presidents pontificate, "We are the indispensable nation."Which in simple englsh means, the rest of the nations are dispensable.

A little thinking would help you out you know.

      vote third party if you're honest. both corporate parties are in the pocket of military industrial complex, and are murdering millions every year to make more money. their grift is that they take money from you, the tax payers, give it to the military, military gives it to weapons manufacturers, and weapons manufacturers give it back to politicians, taking the cut, of course, but, at that point, the money has been laundered, and no one can say they just took the money from tax payers. except that's exactly what they did, with some extra steps. voting for third party means that the war machine would temporarily slow down, as people from green, people's, and even libertarian party, none of them as of yet have connections to MIC. I suspect they would develop some soon enough, but before they do, world would be allowed a breath of air
      and the propaganda piece that "voting third party is throwing your voice away" is bs, if you had third of congress/senate stocked up with people from third parties, neither dems nor republicans could pass anything unless either they united (formed a coalition), thus revealing that they are the same party, and being done for, or if they united with third parties, in which case, they would be forced to compromise, and would have to cut military budget, while giving americans what they need. so third party is solution both for rest of the world, as well as americans. and if president was the wrong guy, he'd be stumped every step of the way by the third parties opposition, and still part of two collapsing corporate parties

      Shanni Peettyson you killed, tortured and destroyed a whole country because a few people were killed in a terrorist attack on your country? That’s not fair. And btw it didn’t solve the real problems which is the lack of safety and security in America in all aspects. Research shows that smuggling harmful and dangerous stuff to planes is still manageable and airport security is unreliable. Also, many people die everyday because of bad health care and domestic terrorism aka school shootings. Your money should go into improving your own country rather than destroying other countries

      You should rethink your comment. It definitely shows that you know very little about Chris Hondros and what he was capable of. He was a badass photographer, one of the best photo journalists that had ever lived. He traveled around the world placing himself in the frontlines of almost every conflict that had occurred within the past 2 decades just to capture some of the most amazing photos surrounding war. Watch the movie about him and you will know exactly what I mean.

      The Iraq invasion was illegal and based on lies. The Americans had NO RIGHT to be there in the first place.
      "stuff like that happens" -- what a brave philosophy. I'm going to hire someone to follow you around and whisper that in your ear whenever anything horrible happens to you in your miserable selfish life.

      Vasting The first invasion of Iraq was American caused from poor foreign policy. Not to mention the over 180 governments the USA has overthrown since the second world war.
