I am Italian and I live in Rome. I have a 2004 Suzuki Wagon r+ and I love it. If I wanted to change it for a similar one I couldn't do it. In Italy they don't sell these types of small cars derived from Japanese kei cars. If there was one like this Suzuki Spacia I would buy it tomorrow. It makes me angry that the diffusion of this type of car is limited by prejudices regarding their aesthetics. I find them marvels of technology and pragmatism. It makes me angry that I can't buy one because I don't like their shape. I hope that one day a Japanese car manufacturer will have the courage to export a kei car model to Europe and Italy. I looked into importing one into Italy but the problem is not getting it delivered but rather that it cannot circulate because it is not approved to European safety standards. How stupid. There are many videos on TH-cam that demonstrate the opposite. These cars are as safe as those on European roads. Suzuki! Nissan! Honda! Courage! Export these cars to Europe! Or make sure they are approved for the European Highway Code. Ah! I forgot! Put the driver's seat on the left.
@eronedalessandria5914 Kei cars were created due to Japan's narrow road widths and low annual automobile taxes required. With a limited seating capacity of four passengers and a low price, kei cars hold more than half of the domestic market share in Japan. Kei cars are the best choice for so-called second cars. Until recently, kei cars were never exported, but they have recently become popular overseas as well. If your voices become louder, they will be exported to countries where they are needed. Thank you for watching.
@@JapanNewCar I think they are banning imports of kei car because if they were allowed to import them, they would sell so much that they would destroy the American and European car industries. Safety should be the same as German smart cars.
2 million yen is $13.894 US. 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers is 60 miles per gallon. If the US were serious cutting oil imports they'd allow these cars to be sold here. Horsepower for Kei cars is limited by law in Japan but that doesn't mean it would have to be in the US. I'd buy one in a heart beat.
The removable basket is such a unique feature, you won’t find that on most cars, these kei cars, though not really powerful, definitely have more character than typical cars❤
@BeGoneGeist When I slide the rear seat forward, it hits the back of the front seat for me who is 175cm. It is tight, but not impossible to ride in. Thank you for watching.
Theres a few surplus dealers of suzuki kei cars, minivans and trucks in the philippines. Really cheap too. Ranges about 3000 to 5000 USD. Too bad the philippine suzuki has limited option on cars to sell.
@creestee08 3,000 to $5,000 is very inexpensive! In Japan, it is very difficult because the price of vehicles is rising more and more due to the rising cost of raw materials.... Thank you for watching.

I really regret that you can't buy them in Europe. You can drive a 20-year-old junk car, but not a kei car. Why? It's beauty and practicality in one form. Who needs a car that goes 250 km/h if there is nowhere to go? We're all stuck in traffic jams or driving at 50 km/h. I want it (with the steering wheel on the left, of course :)
@SawomirPaliga-io3mt Many people want a left-hand drive light car! They seem to be getting popular outside of Japan these days. Thank you for watching.
