Now that he's finished chapter 3, I hope Cy Yu watches the cutscenes for Camellia Golden Week as Anton had a major speaking role during it. The Zoom calls with the three factions we've befriended so far were amazing.
the comic in the 1st 10 minutes are what i live for. Cunning hares living in their dinky little atmospheric base just vibing. God i could watch an anime of them just living their life
Chapter 3 is top tier. Looking forward to seeing Cy's reaction to Chapter 4 (maybe I can catch that one live), and really looking forward to seeing where the story goes in the future
0:38 the only thing I remember about Chaotix is that, when they had them in Sonic Heroes, Charmy was portrayed as a little kid and the Archie comics had portrayed him as, essentially a adult. So since the Archie Comics had to like, keep their characters as least close to their video game counterparts if they could...........they basically had Charmy in the comics suffer SIGNIFICANT brain damage to make him more 'child like' despite the fact he was a adult in the comics.
And the fact that he was a prince with a loving gf,his whole life fell apart all because the devs decided to age him down For content the English manual for Chaotix said he was 16,I don’t think the Japanese manual cited an age though despite the others having one (at least if the wiki is anything to go by)
I understand some of the criticisms towards the TV mode. But honestly, hearing that they're planning on significantly reducing it if not straight up getting rid of it hurts my heart. Maybe I'm in the minority that loves that mode (tho I will admit, Arpeggio Fault definitely got so repetitive that I was drained by the end of it and it's probably my least favorite use of TV mode, despite the sweet hidden message at the end), but I genuinely think it's part of ZZZ's charm and uniqueness. I personally can't think of another game that has anything like it, and I absolutely love the clever puzzle mechanics they come up with for it. I feel like there is so much room for more creativity, compared to just "go beat things up again in reused environments" (listen, I LOVE the combat and how it feels, but...yeah. I fear it'll start to get stale if that's all we get). I really hope the devs don't give up on it entirely. It has so much potential, and I hope they can find a good gameplay balance with it and the combat 😭
So guy from the future here, they revamped Chapters 1-3 to have "Array Mode" be optional, and completely redid the gameplay, adding in segments where you run around as Eous in the open world to solve puzzles, and in the "Marcel Maze" which is basically VR Fall Guys for Bangboo. What won me over was in the last mission of Chapter 3. They took a shortcut through Tower B to get to the boss arena. The shortcut in question: disturb an Etheric thingy on a statue in the lobby, _flipping the lobby upside down,_ so they could run along the ceiling to the fissure. I liked the creative storytelling they did with the Array mode, but if this means they're going to do cool stuff like that, I'm more okay with it.
Arpeggio Fault is weird because there is a "hidden" quest that uses same mechanics but is way better done. Probably because it didn't have to fit into "gacha rewards" system. The quest even warns you it migh take 2 hours to finish. Forgot what it was called. The thing is it's a very simple RPG adventure with multiple endings ala Undertale. Was very fun. In contrast Arpeggio Fault was waaay too repetitive because you had to restart a build each run.
Only downside it using own units over trial, i feel like it make the story to easy, but end of the day, each thier own of course, still,a fun watch. I guess skipping over a lot of the story stinks a tad too, heh.
No tv's makes the future main story look really bleak. Like yeah TV isn't super fast, and side stuff was always better than main story stuff, but the solution isn't to make Main story even more RPGM yapping and simply cutting out the environment beyond a palette swap. The supposed "uniqueness" of hollows is reduced to a new background and enemy list, and maybe a one-off kinda half-baked minigame if we're lucky. We still have at least 3 more sections after chp 4 to round out the major companion hollows, three more chapter 4s is the ultimate lore skipper's dream... and will make everyone else just tune out of the friggin story. spoilers: People say ch4 has "good" pacing but like. Phaethon literally does nothing ludonarratively, and even Fairy barely does anything.
Sigh, the Son's of Calydon don't seem to like me cause I have failed the 50/50 on Caesar, Burnice and now Lighter and as a mostly FTP player this hits hard.
If you could only choose one member from each of the ZZZ Factions to be your husbando/wiafu, who would you choose? For me it would be; Cunning Hares: None, as I don't find any of the members as anything more than a friend that I'd have to look out for, but still enjoy being with. Bellobog Heavy Industries; Grace, her autistic tendencies as a genius mechanic would be fun to engage with. Public Security; Zhu Yuan, as her dedicated and talent for her work makes her a reliable person to work with, and her cute shyness is very enjoyable. Victoria Housekeeping; Ellen Joe, with her high performance ability means that I don't have to worry about her in most situations, and her inclination to wanting to spend life at low energy makes it feel like it would be cozy to just laze about with her. Son's of Calydon; Caesar King, almost entirely because of her Gap Moe. Section 6; Its currently a toss up to being Yanagi for being such a sweet and talented motherly character.
Ch4 has some really nice peaks and the rest of it is... ok... like, you blitz through the story, there's not actually that much lore involved (until the ending) and the environment feels dead even compared to chapter 2.
i hate how you have EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING WITHOUT EVEN HAVING PLAYED THROUGH THE STORY. Like goddamn you still have so many polychromes waiting for you.
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Without TV the main story really is just HI3 with less setup. Oh and with a worse-positioned MC because you don't actually do anything in game besides yap.

Camellya should've been a permanent event like the Cheesetopia one. Maybe they'll add it later
That event was so funny getting to see most of the factions we've made relations with all interacting with us there as well just hearing the chaos 😂😂

Honestly, unless it was live, I would skip the TV section in Vods, unfortunately for the TV lovers, the Majority out weighs the minority

The story is getting better. And I love it because this game is so cool

Is that a unique voice line for Yanagi + Zhu Yuan? I haven’t heard that one.
Ballet Twins Hollow remains to be my favorite Hollow and this video helped me remind that
*CY YU Vods* Hey, now that you're done can you do Lycaon's Story Quest please? that one'll make you swoon over Lycaon.
Half of me would like a couple agent story and part of me to contiune more main, lol.
MADE IT GUYS!
"Midnight fursuit"
Real
His reaction to Rina showing up was great😅
I hate the ballet twins if you do it at lvl 60. Cause you have to kill them both

This chapter had been so top notch
Your Lycaon impression was spot on
There's an argument for thracian being a 'better' boss than the twins but that's side story stuff!
No tv's makes the future main story look really bleak.

Not really, story is pretty fine without them

not to mention, now the main story is just objectively worse P5S

I forgot there were *2 towers* called the ballet *twins*

Lol you changed the team to Lycon and Ellan and didn't change the bangboo? Do you not have an ice synergy bangboo?

Wait, when I played this chapter TV mode wasn’t activated AT ALL. Is it possible to turn TV mode in story commissions?
is TV mode being removed for chapters 1 - 3 in 1.4?
Think its only for the 1.4 stuff and further not chapters 1 to 3. they aren't removing the tv parts just massivley reducing it.
Ch4 has some really nice peaks and the rest of it is... ok...

Everyone think Ellen was the strong. But twas corin who was the strongest.(cue Dio meme)
There is only ONE male person i would be gay for, have guess who it is
His burly doing chapter 3 I thought he was already done and further ahead🤣😎
