I'm so sorry for the woman, when she realised what happened, it's Heartbreaking.Very respectful and distant reporting of a critical situation.

Thank you Chris, only 4 stories have affected me in 15+ years. This was one of them.
Three other seasoned camera crews were also emotionally affected, when it's our job not to be.
      Sometimes's it can't be helped.
I spent some hours carefully thinking if the "incident" would be shown.
The reason why it was left in wasn't to show her heartache, but to show what emergency services experience daily.
My thoughts go to her and all the family, but my hat goes off to the man who walked straight into the water knowing what he had to do.

Thanks for your reply on this.Sometimes were human after all , this won't prevent us from being affected in some Way ,even with professionalism and emotional distance.Sometime in Past ,I had spoke to a EMS and he said, its ok to have sympathy for someone ,but he can't do his Job feeling pity for his patients.Helped me to understand keeping this emotional distance to things happen in our world.

I commend the first responders for administering compressions, although the outcome was already certain.

Did the riptide get that man? That distressed, horrified scream @ 2:30 tells you exactly what happened. That sound will haunt all who hear it. No need for words or narration here. Poor lass...

Cold water drowning patients need to be rewarmed from the inside out so ASAP transport is what should of happened sad really maybe a volunteer dive team should be created to respond apart from municipal teams.

Great rescue and policewomen have compassion. In America policeman have no feelings at all. I don’t understand two things: First, why there’s a diving are next to fishing net and 2. Why the diver didn’t have a knife to cut free any robes/nets?

Its not a fishing net, its a shark net which is stopping the sharks from entering. 2nd. Some rescue divers do have knifes or tools that are able to cut stuff.
