Quinoa doesn't need to be soaked if you are using a pressure cooker :) Plus, I would advise to not let it rest an hour after it is done. Natural release only needs like 20 minutes rest, if you leave it longer it keeps cooking. That is probably why it was mushy.

I love it when Tybee looks a little rough round the edges and his hair is longer. He's such a cute dog, and he seems to be well-behaved as well (a little excited maybe, but what dogs aren't). Dogs typically do a little twirl around before they (finally) lay down, but I think you know that. ;) My German Shepherd grew out of several beds along the way. We couldn't immediately get the big size because she wouldn't nap in a space that was too big, and putting fluffing in to make the space smaller didn't quite work here. That neck thing is typically called a "buff", it's a brand name and quite popular!

Oh my goodness I SMILED SO BIG when your mom drove through the big puddles on the side of the road. It's my favorite thing to do when it rains!
My trick for quinoa ~ just *rinse* (no need to soak) & drain, flash-fry (no oil needed; it just seems to crunch up the outside a bit to help with texture), add broth & simmer until 'tails' are seen ~ just like cooking rice, doesn't take long. Red quinoa has the nuttiest flavor. I'd check Target & Costco for a pet bed. Blessings! Jackie in NY state

I cook quinoa in a pot over the stove: while heat is off add water and quinoa to pot with water being double the amount compared to the quinoa, turn the heat to high, wait for it to come to a boil, as soon as it boils stir and turn the heat to low and cover the pot stirring occasionally. Once it's almost done cooking make sure to fluff with a fork. Works for me every time and not soggy at all :)
I got a bed for my dog at a website called In the Company of Dogs. He had hip replacement surgery and needed something sturdy and comfortable. It was expensive, but he has used it every day for five years and it looks brand new. The quality is excellent.
When you go to the bed section, you'll see they have options for every type of dog. There's a flat, comfy looking mat that's similar to what you were looking at, and it's on sale today. Nothing is too good for sweet little Tybee!

I have found that TJ Maxx has some pretty nice dog beds and if you don't find anything there, I have actually found that indoor/outdoor patio chair mats work very well as they are thick and large enough for a small dog to stretch out on.
I just wanted to tell you that since watching your blog I have been motivated to take better care of myself and one thing I have started doing again was getting up on my elliptical. I watch your videos while I kill my self on the ellipt and I soon forget how much I hate it bc I’m laughing along with you. Just for that I want to thank you. You are doing good work here with your channel and I am truly glad I found your vlog

I'm glad you liked Downton Abby. I loved it too! I think you will like The Crown as well. I always add a tsp. of Mrs.Dash Onion and Herb (❤️) to my quinoa (before cooking) use veg. broth instead of water and then add sautéed mushroom, celery, onion and black or navy beans once it's done cooking just FYI. Tuesday Morning and Kohls have good prices on pet beds and I have had good luck with the quality too. Happy Sunday Dr. Andrea! ♥️

Hi Dr. Dray! Love your blogs with your Mom and Tybee :) I love quinoa! I cook mine like you would cook rice; same water to grain ratio. Also, for more flavor, cook with veggie broth and some garlic powder (or spice of choice). I also find that fluffing it like rice and letting it cool down slightly will help with "mushy-ness." Prob more than you ever wanted to know about quinoa lol Thanks for all the info as always! Restocking my spf with Altruist...can't wait!

Quinoa is great! Best way I've found to make it non-mushy in the Cosori is actually on the non-pressurized rice setting. I also recommend not soaking it. And adding a 1.5: 1.0 water:quinoa ratio. That way it doesn't turn out mushy at all. Makes it better for salads :)

Steel cut oats are delicious. I like to make a few servings ahead of time and take it to work. I add dried cranberries, sliced almonds, cinnamon and nutmeg. Soo yummy

I've been watching a lot of mattress reviews (since I'm in the market for a new one) and I thought of you. Since getting good sleep is important to overall health and wellness, would you mind telling us what mattress gives you the best sleep?
Tybee is the cutest! We have had luck with dog beds from Marshall’s & TJ Maxx. They have a huge selection and aren’t too pricey. Hope this helps🐶
Love quinoa! And mixed with red beans! Yum!!!! I may have to invest in an instant pot. I'm going to review what I would cook in it first so I don't accumulate another kitchen appliance! Your mom's makeup has been looking extra nice. I wonder what kind of foundation she's wearing. Tybee looks adorable! I let my dogs be a little fluffy then shave them down to fairly close. But I guess it's pretty hot consistently there. Loved the storm! We got about 3 minutes of rain today. Thanks for the Sunday vlog!!! Those dog beds with half a flap over the top allows them to bury themselves. They like that.

Big Lots is another great idea.
The only way I like quinoa is with oatmeal, chia seeds, and cinnamon (bring to a simmer for 3 min.). I freeze in hockey puck size portions and when I want to eat it I add almond milk, flax seeds and a sweetener and microwave. Quick and easy breakfast. 🙂

I simmer the quinoa in a small saucepan for fifteen minutes on top of the store, it cooks up great. The only downside is you need to watch the stove, not as convenient as the cosori for sure. Your rain is amazing from drought plagued California!

On the Quinoa the best Quinoa is to be had from Costco. The Kirkland brand Quinoa from Costco is the best of all the different Quinoa’s that I tried. Also try adding Turmeric to your Quinoa when you cook it it gives the Quinoa a nice flavor. Also a little pink Himalayan salt and pepper and some vegetable broth. I use the better than broth that you can also get at Costco and comes in a jar. But the Turmeric makes all the difference with the Quinoa.

Our dog will walk around and walk around 3,4,5 times and using his paw scratch up his little throw blanket until it is just right and if it doesn't feel good he does it all over again. It's a dog thing. Woof...
DOG BED FYI... we have a 27 lb Springer Spaniel mix and he is 25" long from his neck down his back to where his tail begins (I had to buy him a raincoat LOL). His bed is just like the one Tybee has and measuring the bottom attached pillow, it is 25"side to side X 20" back to front with 8" sides that dip down to 5" in the front. He absolutely loves it. The one he has before was too big and when he curled up, he took up just half of the bed. He loves the sides, he lays his head on them and I think they might feel more secure knowing that there are sides so they don't fall off the pillow kind. It he wants to stretch out he does that on the floor but I have seen him in his bed stretched out with his head laying on the side. Hopes this helps.

OMG! I remember those Houston streets when it rains. Try looking at Big Lots for doggies bed or even Tuesday morning. I’m probably a horrible person for this but after about 2-3 months I toss my puppazina’s bed . I refuse to put them in the washer. Now I have a mini dachshund under 10 lbs so I pick her beds up at Walmart for under 6.00. He is just so adorable!
Hi Dr Dray, I love your Mom's matte skin look, once again! Have you ever tried the red variety of quinoa? I buy it at Whole Foods in the bulk bins. It is very crunchy, not mushy and slimy like regular quinoa. It's quite enjoyable in the morning as breakfast. PS - I buy my cat beds at TJ Maxx, good quality at good prices!

Soak quinoa? Never heard of that. You used to have to rinse it, but now company's do that for you. I love quinoa, micro greens and tofu in a spring roll dipped in Thai peanut sauce...yum!

Doc. You and Mom could consider getting Tybee a bed suitable for a medium-sized dog and put a blanket on it in the winter. That way he will be able to spread out, and roll over on it to change positions. Perhaps the size suitable for a Labrador might work.

Cheapest dog beds are Walmart, TJMAXX or Homegoods. Make sure to get one with a back on it not just a pillow type. Tybee's breed types like to curl up agains the sides and backs. Like he has now but bigger. Hope that helps
Cindy Pope good point. Also because he is crate-trained, he is accustomed to having some kind of barrier. Dog crates function, in a dog's mind, like a den. The bed should feel that way to him

My chow mix, furry dog prefers to sleep on the ceramic tile floor. Beds are too hot for her! If we have a colder day in the winter, she’ll sleep on carpet. When we had our chihuahua, cheapest bed I found was Walmart, but I would imagine Costco has better quality. Enjoyed the vlog!

In your opinion, to treat acne would u recommend a treatment cleanser and gentle moisturizer or a treatment moisturizer with gentle cleanser?

Are there any sunscreens specifically for the scalp? BTW, Just got my Hada Labo foaming wash and it was moisturizing. Thanks for all the tips and guidance. Kim

I get my dogs pet beds from TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, or Home Goods. Favorite bed is from Amazon it’s called Best Friends by Sheri ortho comfort deep dish cuddler. We also have shag faux fur donut same company my fur babies fight over these two beds. Have held up great getting washed every week.

FaithFitHealth She doesn't advocate wearing makeup as there is no makeup that is actually "good" for your skin. Better to moisturize and go natural.

Omg, I've never been able to find a good bed for my pup (she's a bit bigger though [60 lbs] and likes to "nest," which can take its toll on beds). I'm probably going to shell out some dough here soon and get an expensive one. I got a good one a few years ago from costco that lasted the longest. But, I've moved and no longer have a costco in my area. :(
Several of our dogs did the turn circles and plop down routine when getting in bed. We called it "houndwounding".
I like dog beds that have a removal bed cushion. That way you remove the part the dog lays on for washing and not the entire dog bed.
