Interesting, my local gunsmith in hahira ga accuracy outdoors put a ballistics advantage 18in 1in7 6arc barrel on my ar and he was getting 1/2 groups at 109yards. Now I can get that sometimes but I am getting to shaky in my olden years. But I would say I can consistently get 3/4to1in at 100yards. But what's real cool is that at 420y I can hit the 1in dot almost every time.

@@headcarter4656 that’s some awesome shooting! I know every company can put out a dud product every once in a while. I think I was just on a roll finding them last summer 😂😂

I picked up some Amend2 6.5 Grendel/6mmARC mags and have had zero issues. They are designed differently at the top. The rounds don't alternate at the top, the top 2 or 3 rounds is more of single file and you get consistent feeding every time.

My wife has a Grendel Hunter 6mm arc 22 " barrel upper, with a 19" rail, SixFive Arms enhanced BCG, Spikes tactical ambi lower, Larue Tactical MBT 2s trigger. Hornady 103 ELD-X hover right around 1 to 1.1/4 Moa 5 shot groups. But 3 are always touching, & next 2 open it up to 1 - 1.1/4 Moa. We are very impressed with it.

Awesome! It’s definitely become one of my favorite calibers.
Did you see the last video on the EABCO 24” barrel with the Cortina Tuner break? I was about to give up on that one but the tuner dialed it right in. Repeating 3/8moa groups.
Heading out in the morning. Going to run it at 730 and 930 yards with the PRS guys at our range. Looking forward to see how it does. 😉

I have found that most of hornady's bthp bullets are inconsistent with their overall length and base to ogive measurements. Before you write that barrel off, hand lap it to uniform the bore. That barrel is mass produced and most likely has some serious imperfections inside of it. I would also check the silencerco break to see if there's any slight bullet strikes. I have found that sometimes the bore of the barrel and the bore of that break don't line up perfectly. This creates a vortex very near the bullet surface and will cause accuracy issues. That is if the bullets aren't hitting the edge of the break. The bullet may look like it's hitting the target straight but a phenomena called procession will cause poor grouping. It just means the bullet is wobbling and is flying unstable. This is just my two cents.

The 105 bthp is consistent if you handload them. I use them in my 6br. But the factory Hornady black 6arc loading has always had issues from the beginning

I have the same barrel in the 20in version. It shot the white box just under a 2in group but I can cover my reloads with a dime 3 shots.

I bought a CMMG 20” 6 ARC complete upper. I hope it’s accurate for me. I am still waiting on my lower to come in. I did purchase the Duramag 26rd magazines, I plan to load them to 20 or so. I heard all of the ARStoner mags were not very good. I kept hearing Duramag’s were the way to go. I also heard the CMMG 10 rounders were very good.

I found the 90 and 95gr Sierra balistic tip or the 95gr SST to be very accurate in my 6mm arc with a 24in barrel.

Getting ready to start ladders next weekend. Really looking for a load with the 108 ELD OR 103 ELDX. It did 3/4moa with the Barnes 95 LRX last weekend but that was a generic load i already had on the bench.

I was on their Pro-Staff Team for nearly 3 years. They screwed me (and a lot of other Pro-Staff members) hard on nearly a $1,000 worth of credit points, which were off MSRP $$, that I had accumulated over 1.5yrs doing ads and PR visits to new retailers. Gave me about 1/3 value when they closed the Pro-staff program down and started the Field-Staff program.
The stuff I have is all left over from then. I refuse to ever spend another dime on their products. Lol.
Their high-end stuff is good, mid-grade is OK and their low end is total. Crap on QC. I returned 3-4 items I got from them over the 3 years for bad QC and faulty performance. They started out good, then went cheap. Not sure how their new stuff is performing now though.

Over 3" with Hornady Black? It doesn't matter if that's the first groups out of the gun. Unless you have a loose barrel nut, brake or some other problem the barrel is a dud. I wouldn't waste another primer on it.

And this is why i didn’t buy into 6 arc. Unless you go with xcaliber or compass lake or a competent custom barrel maker and get a bolt headspace to the barrel, you’re wasting money.

    • @kentuckyrangetime
      @kentuckyrangetime  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I disagree. My first 6mm ARC build, using the 18” Odin Works barrel ($360 for barrel, gas block and XL gas tube and matched bolt) shot 3/8 to 3/4 moa groups right out of the box.
Also, the first 9 bullets types I reloaded for it, from 58gr Vmax to 115gr Berger all gave me sub moa groups on my first set of 5 test ladders. Pictures of all those are posted on my Instagram page from a couple years back.
What I’m discovering, at least for the AR platform, is It’s less about the caliber and more about the barrel manufacturer and the time they put into developing their product or just rushing it to the shelf for a quick sale. 😉

I found out the hard way, buy a bore scope because I was able to see the condition of the bore of the barrel…Savage 110 Tactical in 308W, the bore was a mess, chattered end to end…not in my life would I again shoot the rifle. Replaced the barrel with a Criterion barrel match-grade and hand-lapped. Buy a bore scope.
