Illinois and Kentucky were never finished, but were canceled in 45 and also 58 when the project was revisited. Fun fact she was never commissioned so never received her prefix (USS) .

Kentucky was about 50% complete when work finally stopped on her. There are plenty of photos of her hull be launched before she was laid up. Illinois didn't make it too much farther than the keel laying. I think she was like 20% complete when work was stopped. She was broken up on the slip. What's more interesting about these two was they were most likely going to have a very different superstructure configuration than the previous ships. They would have looked a lot more like the Oregon City or Des Moines class cruisers than the earlier Iowas.

Nope USS Wisconsin was due to being rammed by a friendly destroyer..... they cut away the bow and took the Bow from the Unfinished USS Kentucky. Which is why Wisconsin got the nickname WisKy
It did end up being a bit longer because of it though.

I remember in the mid 70's visiting the "Mighty Mo" in Bremerton, WA. when she was mothballed. She was berthed next to the carrier Oriskany. I have some pictures of her and the Oriskany beside each other. Both of these ships are immense in size, the main batteries of Missouri, anchor chain and the shells carried were impressive. The spot of the signing of the end of hostilities between Japan and the U.S. I also have a picture of, to the right of second main battery turret.

USS Missouri also took part in regular coastal bombardments in the Korean war along with the help of cruiser Helena diverted attention away from the Incheon landings, making way for the Eighth Army offensive. She was also the last battleship to take part in combat, during the Gulf War she fired her main batteries more than 750 times and launched 28 tomahawk missles!

To comment about the Kamikaze damage on the ship, you are correct. On board they have a display talking about the incident and showing the famous picture of the plane about to hit. At the impact point, if you look at the side of the ship from the deck you can see the upper lip of the waterway is dented in for a good 20-30 feet. From the water, you can see the side plating dented in closer to the waterline in the same area. This damage was superficial and never deemed worthy of repair so she still wears the marks. The Kamikaze pilots body was found in the wreckage, the Missouri's crew gave him a proper military burial at sea.

Im guessing after all the games i have played and seen Iowa’s on full reverse and Max range most people would not have the skill cap to use this ships full potential. Play this ship allot on the pc version and the radar does come in handy. One can easily chase a dd out of a cap. Sometimes just the threat of the radar is enough without even using it. In my xperience its a good ship for aggressive moves, one just have to be able to plan 4 steps ahead at all times and it will be fine. Cant wait to Get this ship on console aswell💪

How is the credit earning potential? One of the things that made the Missouri so great on the OC version was is it PRINTED money. I had matches where it would earn a million silver. When the Missouri came out on the PC Wargaming had a deal with Steven Seagal. You got him as a captain complete with voice over and he was named after his character in Under Siege. In port he would walk around the exterior of the ship and do various things. I used to make Steven Seagal fat jokes all the time and say the easiest way to find him when the ship was in port was to see which way the ship was listing.

Gg Spartan. Not sure what to think about this ship. The radar is ok but I agree with you that it should go out further, maybe 12 kms. Let the Russian ships be different. I wish there were more consumables for it and the rest of the US bb line. I think at t7 there should be 4 x consumables and some unique to their country. I think 30k is ridiculous for the ship considering how long it takes to grind for steel. I'm now at 25k and I was keen to get the ship but now after all the hard work to grind for steel, I think I might hold out since I already have Iowa. I heard on pc the ship origanally came with a captain, it was Steven Segal and he use to walk around the deck of the ship. This was a reference to the move under siege. Pitty he's not included in legends it would have been cool.

Its a collector ship. As someone that mainly playd DDs I don't care that this ship has radar. I don't care that a Cleveland has radar, you properly play around it.

Something was really peculiar about that P. Bag. Everyone was shooting at him and no one was getting hits. Even when he was fouled in the boundary. It was like he had some kind of super dispersion booster. Most of your shots were bracketing him. Smells like a hack to me.

if it's an Iowa class BB, i'll grind for it. my only disappointments with the Missouri is it has less hit points than the Iowa... why is this so? I thought premium ships were fully upgraded so I'd expect that it had the "Iowa hull" upgrade which brings it to a base hit point of 70000 and with Sims as commander, up to 72K something hit points. I also don't understand the shorter range. The Iowa can reach up to 20Km but this only goes 19.5Km... not a big deal but why? I don't have the Missouri yet but if the next ship will be a New Jersey or Wisconsin, I would check the stats first when I can afford the ship.

The Japanese (Aleutian Islands) and the Canadians/British (burning down the capital buildings in the District of Columbia, but politely saving all books and promptly returning them) are the only instances I can think of were the United States were directly threatened. The standard was to let the Canadians, British, French, Polish, Russians, Australians, Indians, New Zealanders, South Africans, Czechoslovakians, Swedish, Dutch, Belgians, Yukoslavians, Kroatians, and the list goes on... do all the leg work while the US enjoyed war profiteering and in both WW1 and 2 entered only after they were engaged (Lusitania/Pear Harbour) when their ego was hurt and the odds were favourable for them.

Right it had nothing to do with the fact that America was in the midst of the Great depression following WW1 and no one wanted to go into another war.
Why should we go halfway across the world to fight "Europe's War" is the way it was perceived.
In the end once the US got involved directly it vastly turned the tides of the war in the Allies favor.
Also what you call war profiteering was the only thing keeping the Allies in the war until we showed up.
If not for the Supplies the US was shipping to the Allies they would have been forced to capitulate

I'd definitely take this over the Iowa, but since we have Georgia it kinda makes this ship redundant imo. However if this would have been a campaign ship, and Georgia was a steel ship then things would have probably been much different tbh an ppl would have been grinding steel with alot more effort. I wonder if we'll be seeing coal to earn ships in the future?
