    Why pay $1400 a month in rent when that could be a mortgage payment for a 3 or 4 bedroom house in a nice neighborhood on the outskirt of Atlanta. In fact, in some areas of Metro Atlanta with a minimum credit score of 640, you maybe eligible for a USDA loan with zero down payment to buy yourself a house.

    • @ICONICPARIS
      @ICONICPARIS 6 ปีที่แล้ว +184

      Everyone doesn't want to buy a house.

    • @AtlantaHomesforSale
      @AtlantaHomesforSale 6 ปีที่แล้ว +153

      Pierre, you are correct. In fact, it is equivalent to some people who are comfortable building wealth for someone else and not for themselves. Doesn't make sense to me but we all have the freedom of choice.

    • @TheLassenman
      @TheLassenman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      I agree with you, why should you put your hard earned money to some landlord's pocket? But on the other hand if you buy a house you just pay your money to a bank etc. But for my self i'd rather buy a house than rent 1 if i could choose.

    • @AtlantaHomesforSale
      @AtlantaHomesforSale 6 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      The Lassenman, thanks for your comment. Yes, you are making a payment to the bank/mortgage lender each month but the only reason you are doing so, is to payoff the loan you borrowed from them to buy the house but each month you make your payment, you are building equity in your home. However, when someone rents, they are building equity/wealth for their landlord and not for themselves.

      Compton has always been spacious, acres of yard, and lots of land, and beautiful homes, what makes Compton “bad” is some of the people and the media
      who blows it up so that others are afraid and in return gives them room to gentrify. South LA and Compton are about the same.

      Its almost twice my mortgage for a 5 bedroom home. As an adult I realized there is no point to those big cities when you cant afford to do anything and you live by the skin of your teeth. We lived paycheck to paycheck in California making 75k a year. We left, i stopped working to focus on our children, my husband makes more here in Oklahoma than we made combined in California because of a skilled workers shortage and now we have investments and a savings account. I actually found a check on our counter the other day we hadn't deposited because it wasn't an urgent priority when it came in.
      No, there isn't as much to do here, but there is less crime, better schools and you would be surprised what not being poor can do for your mental health. Anyone who says money cant buy happiness is kidding themselves. Not worrying if your kids will eat or having enough gas for work is happiness.
      High cost of living states really trap people in cycles of unnecessary poverty.
