I hear what your all saying & i agree but montale vetiver & patchouli is the exception to the rule
Tonka is often used in today's perfumery to create tobacco accords. Natural tonka bean has cherry and tobacco nuances on its own.
The natural Tonka is amazing... nothing like the sweet Tonka they try and pass off now a days
Fidji was one of my mums scents when I was a child. Never knew the history of that and YSL Y. Thank you for that. I’d love to hear your hall of fame review on that one 👌

Never smelled Mancera, surprisingly.
Never came across them in stores and don't feel like I want to bother getting samples online.
One day I'll smell them at some random store somewhere in the world, wherever the universe sends me to smell Mancera's.
Stay away.. as long as you can... cherish it

@@RamseytheRam yeah there was very few I liked in passing smelling some. Very sweet but of course the women liked it. I hair don’t like a lot of synthetic plastic smells. I can’t wear Angels share anymore & Grand Soir … really have to be in the mood for it . But it’s like a sugar cookie = grand Soir
luckily i only fell for the "mancera is niche!!" trap only once (hindu kush)
p.s. so i got the youth dew...gonna have to agree with Mrs. Lauder lol, opium smells super, super similar. the devin took me by suprise with the quality of it considering its the 2010 reformulation, could swear theres oakmoss in it (it is on the ingredient list). very happy with both. looking forward to the blind sniff stream! cheers bro
Opium definitely took a lot from Youth Dew and I see why she was so upset ... especially because Opium became one of the best selling frags in the world lol
Had a Mancera cedrat bois decant - it was ok but I haven’t brought it. Your nose doesn’t lie, it was average.

I hope you read this review. I have a bottle of tonka cola and the juice is a darker color than your sample. You might want to look in to that.
Juice color can change depending on how much air has been let into the bottle

They can't all be The French Laundry. Sometimes you just want Taco Bell, ya know? 😂. I will admit I am in the ignorant category. but in my own defense, I don't have a "mission" except to smell interesting things. my bias is to love cola, so I am pretty pleased by Tonka Cola as a fun scent. to me, it's not a panty dropper because it's kind of an absurd scent, but it's a fun one I love. i also think the fact that you hate it makes this all more interesting. i get that there are refined tastes that develop, but it's all subjective, right? I know the Ariana Grande fragrances are sweet nonsense, but they are still fun. since I am not trying to get laid, I am just trying to smell fun and weird stuff. I agree Enigma

The only Mancera I actually like is INTENSE Cedrat Boisee. I can't stand the rest lol
Never smelled it... is it better than the OG?
Much better than the OG in my opinion. Well the intense is an extrait with a similar scent profile but it's blended better, smoother, lasts longer with a pleasant trail and it's not as loud as the OG
I just tried this last Friday! I'll never be a fan of Montale and Mancera. They smell synthetic to my nose.
That because they are synthetic... good for high school and college kids but not for us

As it dries down? Like a dried down Mancera isn’t like 98% of all the other Mancera’s 🙄 After a few hours the only difference is the bottle they came in, imnsho.

You were brave to actually put that on skin. I smelled it on a blotter and was appalled. Obnoxious and TACKY were the two words that came to mind. I haven't smelled many Mancera's, because the few I have smelled have just been... bad. And this was no exception.
My skin is ☢️ after today 🤣
Chocolate Roses, Chocolate Greedy, Cafe Intense and maybe Dark Aoud were the only tolerable ones I’ve tried from Mancera/Montale’s lineup of literal hundreds lol. Pierre Montale/Mancera’s true identity should be unmasked and he should be placed on Interpol’s most wanted for the crime of creating all the rest of them, however

Everything from Mancera is exactly like this Tonka Cola concoction, these perfumes are made to be loud and be noticed from far away. They are overly synthetic and just lack any refines and even creativity. I washed my hand right away after trying this one and red tobacco too.

100% there's a lot of ignorance with other reviewers, I have a hard time believing everyone's just full of sh**. It's the same in various groups online, people hyping stuff but very obviously haven't tried anything beyond the juvenile candy scents. And to be clear enjoy whatever, but please have enough awareness to not proclaim it the greatest of all time when your experience is limited to pdm, xerjoff and mancera.

Actually, I can say I liked Tonka Cola. I bought a clone, Cherry Cola. I enjoy it. It smells happy and dries down to sweet vanilla, one of my favorite bases. That's it. I know Rams much prefers something based off of bodily waste from animals or rotting fungi on woods, and that's ok.

Can’t be as bad as Kouros or Drakkar Noir . Tonka Cola is a synthetic mess but I can much better tolare it than Kouros which to me smells like a guy trying to cover his BO with perfume without taking a shower
Everyone's nose is different and also where you are in your journey matters. To me Kouros is a masterpiece... one of the greatest designer fragrances of all time
But you can't go straight to it... it's like trying to beat the final boss as soon as you start playing the game 😆
And Drakkar Noir revolutionized fresheness In the 1980s
