There’s this transition that happens when you listen to more songs like this by rhcp and especially when you hear John’s absolutely wild solo records. You tune into what he and flea are doing more and less into Anthony, and the band transforms into a completely different entity. John is like syd Barrett, Johnny Marr, Robert Smith, and Jimi Hendrix all at the same time. Even when they’re at there funkiest he still finds a way to channel all this other shit you wouldn’t associate with funk into it. He really changed how I hear all those artists I named too, like I never noticed how funky the smiths were till I got into john’s stuff. Imagine the smiths with Anthony instead of Morrissy!
Very well put. John's influences are so vast and he's a master at pulling from them but doing it in his own inimitable style.. it all just sounds like John. It's funny because the other day I was hanging out with a friend of mine who was showing me something he was working on w/ his electric guitar.. I said, "Wow, that part is very Frusciante-esque, I really like it" and he immediately understood what I was saying.
Frusciante is getting more love every day. People are finally recognizing him. He also has a hardcore fanbase for his solo music going back nearly 30 years.

This album is amazing
I like Kiedis' singing and whoever is doing the harmony vocal.

Its actually not really basic there is at least 5 guitar Lines. It needs two guitarists live with looping
I just mean music theory wise. The playing and instrumentation is certainly complex.
