Ive put bearings in my freezer and applied moderate geat around the hub with my heat gun. You can get the new bearing in very easily then.

A cheap bearing press will make your job much easier! Good video and explanation.

Knocking the bearings back in through the ring nut is a risky procedure... tight fit, and I couldn't get the bearing to sit below the nut - It jammed. Will have another try after heating the hub and freezing some fresh bearings tomorrow, as I am quite sure my mates very rust lock ring won't come out easily.

Thanks for sharing! I'm guessing it'll be the same process for a rim brake R24?

I wanted to replace my old DT Swiss 370 bearings to a hybrid bearings. How many bearings do i need to get for the front and rear? And what size and model? Thanks

Would it be important to take off the tooth-piece located in the drive side if I just want to service the bearings (cleaning and greasing them) and not replacing them?
I took my bike for service to a local shop and ever since, I noticed the axis-tube (where the bearings seat) is a little loose and moves, Is this ok?
    Thanks in advance.
