    I have a BSP and a bunch of KORG Volcas. I want to control 3 different KORG Volcas with the BSP. How do I designate which sequence (1,2 or drum) on the BSP goes to a specific Volca? Is it just done by assigning the correct midi channels? I have a 3 way splitter...

    Hello ur video aged really well i hope u see this, i was wondering if this set up will work with keystep pro?

    • @wildaudiosociety
      @wildaudiosociety  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that own a key step pro, but I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't, unless you're talking about the midi splitter thing as the pro is sporting "real" midi 5 pin DIN plugs instead of TRS. You'd need some kinda spilter box to do the same thing. Arturia weren't quick enough for me with it's release - I got a Novation SL Mark 3 instead. But I do have 2 BSP's, 2 Keystep's and a keystep 37 and LUV'em!

    The sync out on KeyStep send midi like the a MIDI outup or only sync the clock? How to do that?

  • @rolandknaap4537
    @rolandknaap4537 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How can you make sure that if you use the volca keys and beats with the keystep that halfway the song everything is still synchronized and the beat does not come too late or early while the loop is playing?

    • @wildaudiosociety
      @wildaudiosociety  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you're using midi this a non-issue - all should start on the "one". If you use CV clock, press play on the volca/s before you press play on the BSP. I'll use mutes on a mixer, or the volume knob on the volca to bring parts in and out.

    • @wildaudiosociety
      @wildaudiosociety  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      in this setup, using Ableton...soundcard is a RME babyface with Behringer ADA 8000.I sync'ed the all video up with the master audio track later in an app called MediaEdit 3. But these days I just take the headphone out and send it the input of my camera - much quicker to put out something on youtube that way, and it's how I can record in remote locations with my portable rig. ;-)

      wildaudiosociety Another dumb question since I don’t really understand the routing of all this very well, but on a complex setup like this, which headphone out captures this whole thing?

    How do i connect set up beatstep pro , volca kick ,volca beats volca keys and td3 to be dawless

    • @wildaudiosociety
      @wildaudiosociety  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would use MIDI. You can get a six-way headphone splitter off eBay for about $2. You'd have to make or buy another two trs2 midi plugs as the BSP only comes with two. You don't have to settle the devices to separate MIDI channels. That would let you sequence 3 of the devices from the beatstep pro, and the for fun could get a clock from the BSP.

    I admire your work. I'm a beginner so my questions may be trivial for you, but I'll try ... Looks like you're not using Midi out on beatstep pro. What do you use Korg Sq-1 for? I thought about controlling Volca's by Sq-1 but you are doing it by beatstep, can I ask for clarification?

    • @wildaudiosociety
      @wildaudiosociety  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Bart Mar yep, so on this track the volcas are just getting a gate for timing from the key step. This lets me start each volca manually. If you use midi, they will start as soon as you hit play on the controller (in this case, the beat step, as it's 1st in the midi chain. I use the SQ1 as a modulation source. So in this track, I could plugged cv1 out into the filter of the microbrute to get interesting rhythms.
      If you look though my videos you'll find one when I 1st got the sq1 and hooked it up via USB and got working with my volca bass (which was connected via midi). But they were both going into my DAW (ableton).

  • @dj-7154
    @dj-7154 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    great video, but what happens if you want Ableton as your master clock and the Beatstep Pro is in USB mode? Everyone is buggered and the Korgs never sync. On going problem with Arturia. However it's fine in this mode but recording into DAW's when syncing other areas is always an issue.

      Sentoki Studios start the hardware 1st then start the software 2nd. Use a mio USB to 5pin midi wire to your synths Midi in. Make sure the daw MIDI set up read the Mio audio interface.

    How does someone with no experience get the Arturia keystep to work in Windows 10....Not a single video on youtube to show how this installs and works in windows. Right now I have a $118 paper weight. The users manual is useless unless your an experienced user. I just want to make some noise...Why things have to be so difficult? This should be plug and play or step by step instructions on getting this to work in windows....Any help or a video on the subject would be helpful....thanks in advance.

    • @wildaudiosociety
      @wildaudiosociety  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      at it's core, the keystep it the same as any other keyboard controller. If you're using it just via USB, the question would be, is windows detecting it? or maybe it's not setup in your DAW. I think you're best bet would be to describe the issue to Arturia's support. www.arturia.com/support

    Hi, if it's ok I have a question. I cannot sync my keystep to beatstep pro as master. The play/pause is just flashing on the keystep and is not recieving the tempo. It sync perfectly through Ableton Live, but I would like to jam without a laptop like your fun setup. I followed the step "how to synchronize" on Arturia's website. Any ideas?

    • @wildaudiosociety
      @wildaudiosociety  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Assuming you're not dealing with faulty hardware or cable, my best guess is that the dip switch on the back hasn't been set correctly. This is something I fell victim and did a video explaining this. Basically, I was reading the key on how to set the switches in reverse.
