And I was telling her, ‘open the door, leave, go with him!’ And then I realised I had my answer. I’ve now been with the man I ‘opened the door for’ for 5 years and we have a beautiful daughter and life together ❤
The love, longing and regret in this scene is unbearable. She's looking at Robert but also at the new life waiting for her. But life and circumstance prevent her from getting out of the car. An unforgettable scene.
Most of the time these days women choose the latter option, and it’s not what Hollywood makes it out to be. They usually end up with alienated children who resent them and a few house cats.

FOREVER LOVE
one of my favorite movies of all time, I just love Meryl in it
Still heart shaking for this scene. So so sad and emotional. 😢😢
NOW this scene is purely heartbreaking. But for me, she made a very sound choice.
a look of love hope and despair at same time, awfully sad moment, just that one second, you can or cannot do it !
What a powerful, moving scene. The last time they see each other and have to end their relationship.
It woukd have never worked out for them. Divorce, scandal, guilt, children or shame. It would have never left them.
Its an idiot's game to commit adulterous affairs if your married, even if its a passionateless one.
J'ai vu et revu je ne sais combien de fois ce chef d'oeuvre.. incroyable de naturel génial
What a perfection Clint detected!!! Thank you for Mister Eastwood
When he nods. His. Head. He. Knows the. Answer. So sad she was tied. By loyalty. Lovely. Film.
In a universe of ambiguity, this kind of certainty comes only once, and never again, no matter how many lifetimes you live.
This line will haunt me for eternity...
this scene make me cry
I still struggle. Life imitates Art.
I will never get over this.
Music was fantastic for every scene
Heart beating pulse racing I'm sure some of us can relate.
It may be hard or seem like the wrong thing to do getting divorced..... but when you find the love of your life... never let them go.... be free and live the one life you have happy with the one true love.... because at then end it will all be worth it
What about the fact that you would be committing adultery? If you are a Christian, this isn't an option, that is, if you intend to keep God's word and live by it.
Yes, absolutely!!
@@Sealust50Yes, in her case, she knew it would be wrong. Some people, however, should not be together. There are all kinds of abuse, and at least in some churches, couples are not to stay together if there is abuse. It is better to end it, before getting involved with someone else. In that case, you are no longer married, so there is no adultery. I think that was what she was trying to say to her children.
Beautiful scene! 😢😍
I'm 67 Blk female and when I watch this movie I cry. This movie makes my heart ache. She never stoppef loving her husband..she hung in there..that is what real love is all about..she made a sacrifice but in the end she wins..such a cold movie but heart warming
This scene reminds me of the love l have for my husband that l lost nearly 3 years ago to cancer. So hard to lose someone you love so much. That love never goes away.
I’m sorry for your loss. Your husband was a lucky man to have such love. While in your heat, he will never be far from you.
@@Paulco67 Thanks. You're right. He never is.
Wow! this scene...the rain , the pain...
Meryl is one of the best American actresses of all time 🇺🇸
one of the best romantic movie all the time
My mom made me watch this when I was 20 and had my heart broken by my first boyfriend of 5 years. I hated it at first then I got soooo invested and crying so much at this scene like everyone else ❤️
Wow. Brings me to tears
If someone says Eastwood can't do romantic dramatic roles, just show this film.
Un final rompedor, llovían lágrimas 😢😢😢❤❤
