When alternating current passes through the field winding, magnetic pole axis shift from unshaded part to shaded part because of shaded coil. This shifting of magnetic axis is the very cause for acting rotational force on the rotor. So shaded coil is used to create this rotational force (Torque) by shifting the magnetic axis of pole.
@@atclasses236 yes you are right. Actually hysteresis motors working principle depends on continuously revolving magnetic flux. Usually shaded pole principle (Using shaded coil) is employed for this purpose as explained in the video. Alternatively stator winding of the type used in capacitor type motor may be used giving capacitor type shaded pole motor. Both methods are appropriate for hysteresis motor.
