Flocker had a broken Zero who nobody knew how to mitigate yet, but for at least one shining moment superior skill showed. Still my favorite moment in UMVC3.
Justin Wong was definitely the MVP of this Evo. I watched him climb the mountain all the way to Grand Finals. While both of them played exceptionally well, Justin was definitely the crowd favorite and had the most momentum behind him. Also, shout out to Yipes. Best commentator in the business.
I never really liked justin, but all that changed in evo 2k13... I mean, i respect his game now. Look at his team... No doom, magneto, vergil, zero, morrigan but still got to the finals and almost won...

These two people playing have a ton of experience playing fighting games, especially marvel or previous iterations. Justin Wong, the Asian guy, has been playing in the scene for.. I wanna say at least ten years. These guys are the best of the best. If you buy this game, or have it already, its easy to pick up, so dont worry. none of us are nearly that good haha.
It's not about who was playing well, it was mainly about rooting for the underdog. It's like how people feel about Chris G. Chris G may be the best player in Ultimate, which is why he has no support. It's similar also to how JWong was treated during the Marvel 2 days. So the FGC is more likely to root for the comeback factor over the man who played almost every match near flawless.

Do you actually know what "colluding" means ? In the FGC, colluding in game means that you willingly pick an disadvantaged character against your opponent to offer him/her an easy win. And if your opponent wins the tournament, you get a share of the winnings. Wong picked the exact same team throughout the entire tournament and even made huge hype comebacks to earn his place in the finals. But he lost to Flocker who uses "unconventional" techniques. So, please stop name-calling.

A lot of practice, studying your characters attributes, mobility and characteristics, learning the BnBs, loops and "infinites" of every character, simulating lag in training mode, going against the best and worst players online and, most importantly, a lot of fucking patience. Things on UMvC3 go at more than a 100 km/h so you have to be willing to put in a shitload of work if you want to reach "pro" level.

Flocker had lucky mix-ups that year. The Top players trained to beat MorriDoom and forget about Zero... that's what happened. I remember Blocker had really amazing conversion from random hits that year, I know he's a good Zero, but that year everyone trained to survive MorriDoom.

They both played their hardest. Jwong came back with the reset to put flocker in loser's bracket. 11:36, akuma did the idgaf overhead chop not once to vergil, twice to hawkeye.....
it got reset because prior to this match he lost complete set to another guy but since you are not removed if you win the losers bracket (and he did) then he gets to keep going but flocker did not lose a single set meaning that when he lost to justin he still had one fight since the only bracket player for him to play remaining at this point was justin think of it as justin going into this -1/0 and in order to make things even he had to win one full set.
Fucking amazing game, flocker is real good, but it was seriously anyone's game. Justin messed up the combo at the end to finish zero in the last match. that seriously sucked...
He's more close to the people's favorite (other than Peter aka Combofiend) than Flocker is. To a lot of people, Flocker's basically just another Zero player.
Injustice is exactly the same with a bit more running away and projectile spamming. Some SF4 is alright when Akumas and Gens aren't taking off 50% of a health bar after landing one poke.
Well Zero is a really good character, you can confirm off pretty much anything and you only need 1 bar to kill, you just gotta put time and effort into it, but like a good many characters in marvel he is quite hard to fight against and is "cheap" but so is vergil, morrigan, doom, magneto, sentinel, akuma, wolverine, the list goes on. Heck even the hulk can be cheap, especially if teamed up with sentinel and haggar/wesker
I meant that Storm is low tier, I don't play Zero or Hawkeye but winning with them is easier because they are top tier (or at least Zero is I have no idea about Hawkeye)
Yeah good call...that IS the moment Justin gave it away. If he had used the bar, he would have killed Zero. He woulda switched back into Wolvie to get the incoming mixup on vergin. Justin was still sitting on X factor and a full team so he proooobably have got Vergin dead. Hawkeye Level 3 X Factor against Justins full team would only have gone so far. The match...and thus evo...woulda been Justins.

when you reset the brackets its a new match that's why it was 0-0 after the bracket reset
