I get that there's a classic factor to Namorita's original design, but it was just Marvel doing a Supergirl. Like, "here's the blonde female cousin!" The blue look at least feels more unique. The face looks really good on her and the colours are just striking. I have enough New Warriors that I *could* start a New Warriors shelf. I have absolutely no attachment to Crystar, but I love me some sword and sorcery, and the figure is cool! But the standout for me is Power Princess. They really didn't need to go as hard as they did with her, but I'm so glad they did! She looks great, even if you don't turn her into Wonder Woman, easily the best Squadron Supreme figure by a country mile. I found the first Squadron pack on clearance, so I guess I'll be completing this team too! Definitely a surprise of a figure.
For Power Princess, I don't think they can really use 100% of the mold for another character. If they take the upper arms and upper legs (and sculpt new lower legs, lower arms, and torso) I could totally see this mold being used for characters like Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Titania, Valkyrie, Moonstone, or maybe even Shanna. Whatever the case, this is a great wave to kick off the year! Watching Robo's joy and noise effects with the Void is such a pleasure. He has so much fun just putting these together and handling them, and it's wonderfully contagious
Crystar would fit right in with Masters of the Universe characters. He has the aesthetic, similar naming convention, and a gimmick of some sort that other He-Man characters would have. I surprised you didn't compare this Black Panther with the old ToyBiz Sentinel BAF wave Black Panther, as both are based on the same source, though maybe you don't have that anymore.
Even though Sentry was a divisive character of the 2000s (understandably), the Void was one of the last figures I really wanted from Hasbro so I'm glad that he finally got made. Just a shame I always end up wanting the BAF more than the rest.😅 Solid wave though, thanks for the review. 👍
Great review, I hope they do a green bikini and flesh skin for Namorita. I also want a new body mode for Night Thrasher and Darkhawk for the New Warriors update
Objectively, this is one hell of a wave. Unique sculpts, excellent BAF, no MCU tie-ins, no Spiderman, Iron Man or Wolverine to draw the kiddies. This feels like a love letter from the designers to adult collectors, saying,"We see you."
A patron on Patreon put it best... "This feels like an older legends wave to me. In a good way." And I realized, like you, that it's not anchored to any one corner of the comic universe, or the MCU. It's just a healthy smattering of good looking comic characters.

This wave is like the Mindless One wave. It was a joy to buy them all. I can’t say that describes many waves previous in the last two years. Them being a fan channel exclusive might play into it. I’m not going to find them at deep discount because Namorita and Namor would have been wait for sale along with Black Panther. But having to pay full price isn’t as stinging as the Void is pretty fantastic! Interesting. Paid more and felt value. Hmmmm.
Fun fact! Every morning at midnight, Robo grabs 12 action figures, and chomps down on them just despite all the warnings on the boxes. This is a true fact, and you can’t tell me otherwise!
That Namor has some amazing Custom possibilities. There is something very Conan type Swords and Sorcery about him. He looks like he will pair well with that Epic HACKs Red Sonja coming in the Summer.

And, even if you do... Arm or Leg? You pick. So, when they announced Crystar... I almost s**t my pants. Just wish the DAMN helmet was removable! Well, can't have everything

After a dispute, they get turned into Crystal... and Molten Rock... which doesn't have anything to do with their birth names. Here's hoping we get a Warbow in this style! Green would look sick.

I was the comment thread starter* that James Gunn revealed Chukwudi “visiting GG3 set, and admitted he had asked to use Bug for ALL THREE Guardians movies, but was denied each time. Hasbro owns them, despite being Marvel OCs, and IDW still had publishing rights. Apparently, I’m told those rights, along with Rom, have now reverted to Marvel? Which is how Marvel is now able to publish a Rom tpb? *(some idiots got into an argument in my replies, James stepped in, I came back after a couple hours to find my little joke about Chuk playing Bug was blowing up and diverting attention to him actually playing HE.)
@@brainlock72 Hasbro owns the rights to the Micronauts. Bug is based on Galactic Defender. Making the Marvel version of him might be an issue I don't know. Other Marvel characters like Princess Marionette not based on the toys might actually be easier to get made I don't know. My thinking is since Hasbro makes Marvel and owns Micronauts there could be a chance for figures. I will never stop asking for them until they are made.

Man i love me some New Warriors almost as much as Uncanny Xmen. I really wish they would of given us a pink skinned blonde pony tail Namorita. Also I wish we could of got some telekinesis effects for Vance. I am still waiting for Silhouette and Turbo and I would be happy.
I've always loved a skinny vision, even though it's not accurate to anything. I have just always drawn him thin, makes him look alien and has a nice silhouette compared to his Avengers friends But this new figure is more accurate being thicker

Regarding Crystar, how is the durability of the clear plastic (especially around the joints)? As a Transformers fan, you tend to dread clear plastic as it's prone to breaking. However, I know ML plastics are much softer.

This will be in the next Play Day marathon but I based in a gloss black, airbrushed SpazStix Ultimate Mirror Chrome, and then hit it with SpazStix 15259 Candy Yellow that comes in a spray can.
I just got my Crystar to finish it, less Black Panther - I actually LOVE a lot of this wave even though I wouldn't have bought some without the Void BAF. Crystar was a great callback to my childhood that I'm not glad I have. And the void fig turned out to be really, really great! And obviously Power Princess is a total knockout - INCREDIBLE! - and Justice is the other star of the wave. Namorita is OK...a bit small. And I think Vision is fantastic (but I still might like my Retro card version best).
So I'm not a big Marvel Legends collector, it's one of the smallest parts of my collection. But I gotta say, this is the first time in a long, long time I was so excited for an entire wave. In fact, I think the last full wave I bought at full price all at once was the X-men Apocalypse wave. This wave is just awesome to me, very little has to do with "classic" Marvel except for Vision (which I'm super happy with, one of my favorite Marvel characters) These are just fun figures, I put the Justice head on my Gambit figure, the Justice body is pretty cool just as a superhero costume, Power Princess is awesome, the under the sea people are cool looking, and Crystar is just AMAZING!! The icing on the cake is how awesome the Void figure is, I put him on my "random huge figures" shelf rather than my Legends shelf, because why the hell not
It's not classic Marvel, but it's a classic Marvel Legends wave. No media tie-in, no theme, just a bunch of nice looking figures thrown together and BaF'd up. Makes it feel throw backy.
I’m pretty sure those flat hands of Namorita aren’t a new sculpt. Didn’t they come with the 2014 Black Widow? I know she had fingerless gloves without any sort of hinge joint.
I've got half this wave, rest when I get paid, but it's very rare I get a full one. But I actually love them all, especially the BAF! Great video as usual Robo👊

A rare Wave I actually bought complete. I have 3 Marvel Earth's, this gave me my 3rd Vision, Justice and Namorita to complete my New Warriors, even though this isn't really the Namorita I wanted, the Namor is somewhat Futuristic looking and my 3rd Marvel Earth 818 is a Futuristic Earth. I got 2 Power Princess to finish my 2 Squadron Supremes, and I use Crystar as WW2 Hero Blue Diamond in my WW2 Invaders. I used to have the old Crystar but I lost him when I moved from California.
The 90° hips piss me off! ...yep, that's what I said! Not that it isn't a good thing, but WHY ISNT THAT STANDARD WITH EVERY... OR MOST SPIDERMAN FIGURES?!? ...I'm sorry for yelling. 😂😂 Sik
Namor - I still say that head looks more werewolfy than anything else. Kymaera - that not Nita, that’s Kymaera. Justice - this is second version of the Pérez designed costume for Avengers. I think for Avengers Initiative? Added white belt, and I think gold stripes? Panther - I could pass, but I probably won’t. Vision - now I want to see him in “Jolly Rancher” clear colors, like ToyBiz W7, to go with Justice’s Pérez style. Which would work even better with…. Crystar - too cool for school. Even if he is hard to see on your background. No He-Man to pose him with? And yeah, I’m hoping for a Martinex using his limbs, at least. Zarda - kinda sad you didn’t say she’s wonderful. 😉 #LowHangingFruit #KaGeDance I’m getting extra for another Amazon custom. Already using a couple other taller MLs and a WWE Chyna for other Zarda’s. Wow. Marvel Legends made a fantastic Wonder Woman. I don't know if anyone remembers them, but Sonic Drive-In used to give out tiny little translucent plastic animals for kids. The plastic on The Void reminds me of those.
Namorita's open hands are reviews from MCU Black Widow. And I was going to pass on Namor, until you mentioned a likeness to Chris Cornell. Now I'm going to go out and grab the Cornell Namor, because I'm still a Grunge fan.
I modified my Void Namor into a classic Namor. Used acetone to remove the beard and mustache, and pulled off his hair. With the beard & hair removed, he looks very much like your classic Namor, as I suspected. I sculpted classic Namor hair onto of his head, and yep--it makes for the best looking classic Namor so far! I then trimmed off the spikes from his bracers and greaves, and it came out looking like a classic Namor with black pants, which I quite like. I'm in the process of completing this custom--still have to paint in his pupils, and paint his hair, but it looks fantastic! Waaaayy better than any previous classic Namor! I'll post pictures on my Twitter (X) account next week if anyone's interested!
Definitely getting Power Princess and maybe Crystar, he looks kinda awesome.. I'm not a big reader but those look kinda cool, if I find them on sale I just might grab 'em.

I just had the Mezco stand punched between the body and cape for Vision and then Namorita's hair just balanced on top of the peg on that same stand.

It's just a Mezco stand that's pinched between the body and the cape. It's stiff enough to hold it in place.

So I'm not a big Marvel Legends collector, it's one of the smallest parts of my collection. But I gotta say, this is the first time in a long, long time I was so excited for an entire wave. In fact, I think the last full wave I bought at full price all at once was the X-men Apocalypse wave. This wave is just awesome to me, very little has to do with "classic" Marvel except for Vision (which I'm super happy with, one of my favorite Marvel characters) These are just fun figures, I put the Justice head on my Gambit figure, the Justice body is pretty cool just as a superhero costume, Power Princess is awesome, the under the sea people are cool looking, and Crystar is just AMAZING!! The icing on the cake is how awesome the Void figure is, I put him on my "random huge figures" shelf rather than my Legends shelf, because why the hell not
It's not classic Marvel, but it's a classic Marvel Legends wave. No media tie-in, no theme, just a bunch of nice looking figures thrown together and BaF'd up. Makes it feel throw backy.

I’m pretty sure those flat hands of Namorita aren’t a new sculpt. Didn’t they come with the 2014 Black Widow? I know she had fingerless gloves without any sort of hinge joint.

A rare Wave I actually bought complete. I have 3 Marvel Earth's, this gave me my 3rd Vision, Justice and Namorita to complete my New Warriors, even though this isn't really the Namorita I wanted, the Namor is somewhat Futuristic looking and my 3rd Marvel Earth 818 is a Futuristic Earth. I got 2 Power Princess to finish my 2 Squadron Supremes, and I use Crystar as WW2 Hero Blue Diamond in my WW2 Invaders. I used to have the old Crystar but I lost him when I moved from California.
The 90° hips piss me off! ...yep, that's what I said! Not that it isn't a good thing, but WHY ISNT THAT STANDARD WITH EVERY... OR MOST SPIDERMAN FIGURES?!? ...I'm sorry for yelling. 😂😂 Sik

Justice - this is second version of the Pérez designed costume for Avengers. I think for Avengers Initiative? Added white belt, and I think gold stripes?

Vision - now I want to see him in “Jolly Rancher” clear colors, like ToyBiz W7, to go with Justice’s Pérez style. Which would work even better with….
Crystar - too cool for school. Even if he is hard to see on your background. No He-Man to pose him with?

Wow. Marvel Legends made a fantastic Wonder Woman.
I don't know if anyone remembers them, but Sonic Drive-In used to give out tiny little translucent plastic animals for kids. The plastic on The Void reminds me of those.
No plastic capes "Edna Mode"...Cloth capes yes....wired!

Namorita's open hands are reviews from MCU Black Widow. And I was going to pass on Namor, until you mentioned a likeness to Chris Cornell. Now I'm going to go out and grab the Cornell Namor, because I'm still a Grunge fan.
I modified my Void Namor into a classic Namor. Used acetone to remove the beard and mustache, and pulled off his hair. With the beard & hair removed, he looks very much like your classic Namor, as I suspected. I sculpted classic Namor hair onto of his head, and yep--it makes for the best looking classic Namor so far! I then trimmed off the spikes from his bracers and greaves, and it came out looking like a classic Namor with black pants, which I quite like. I'm in the process of completing this custom--still have to paint in his pupils, and paint his hair, but it looks fantastic! Waaaayy better than any previous classic Namor! I'll post pictures on my Twitter (X) account next week if anyone's interested!
We need other Atlantean characters in figure form like Attuma, Krang, Byrrah, U-Man, Llyron, too many to name
