      keewaydin33 thanks for watching! Might just have to do the Jeep while it’s damaged lol. Repairs could take a while.

    Great walk around of your trailer. I love the struts that you put on your lid. I need to do that to my lid. I made a trailer about like yours to get towed behind our JKU and JLU.

    Awesome! Both the Jeep and trailer, did I see brakes on the trailer? What about weight? All kitted out how does the 3.6 handle it? Do you have a separate daily driver?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! It had a hand brake but I remove it. Those drums are empty.
      My 3.6 has no issue with it, the 4.88 gears are helping.
      I don’t know how heavy it is. I do have another Jeep as a daily yes. 21 Rubi - a couple of videos about it on this channel if you are curious

    Cool trailer and setup. I boughtva roof top tent off a friend and he threw in the trailer. It's still OE spec with the military wheels and narrow tires and the pintal hitch but I plan almost all the same mods you did.
    Did you change the axle and hubs to fit those wheels? Did you beef up the springs and suspension at all?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Springs and suspension are still stock. I just used hub adapters to change the bolt pattern to a Jeep TJ pattern as that’s what I had these rims from. I also trimmed the fenders.

    I like it, thanks for the walk around. Going to get a Gobi rack and do the RTT first but this is a pretty nice setup without spending big $ on a manufactured trailer. That being said, have you had any negative issues with the Gobi? So sorry for the front end damage! But it really shows that bad things can happen at any time. Glad no one got hurt.

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions

      The Gobi well worth the wait and the money. It is a top notch quality rack! Couldn't be made better!

    great video!!!!! Q: Does the weight of the tires affect the performance of the vehicle?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cristian hamed yes, but in a good way. The tires allow the trailer to absorb a lot of rough terrain. Since they are light truck tires, I only run about 8-9 psi in them and they barely even bulge out, so they perform really well on and off-road without the need to inflate and deflate.

      229Reaper thanks! No not right now. This year I wanted to try the trailer life to compare to previous years and I think I like it better. Of course it has its own drawbacks but overall I like the benefits of the trailer more.

    Ever think about drilling some holes part way through the boards in the back so the bolts can't harm ur gear? It'll give just a tiny bit more room, but would be flush with the back. Just a thought...

    On the subject of lifts, what does your Jeep currently have on it?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      dhillhouse1 Dhillhouse I have a 2” lift in front and 3” in the rear with HD OME coils and Teraflex shocks all around. But with all the weight I’m thinking about add my 2” spacer to the rear again to give it a little rake back.

    I like it, simple, lightweight, inexpensive and camo.....could get a gladiator too!?(expensive) I know....Chris Shontz just installed a 17 gallon aux tank to his jk FYI...

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Archangel yes a Gladiator will eventually be in my future, but not for a few years. Definitely want the diesel. Yeah I saw Chris’s new fuel tank. It’s exactly what he needs. I have about 10 jerry cans at home so I’ll keep it old school for now lol.

    Try airbags for the back of the Jeep.

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simon Elenor I have put the Teraflex spacers back in the rear for a total of 5.5” of lift.

      @SimonElenor 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NorthBoundExpeditions ah ok. Was just wondering as airbags allow you to keep it low and adjust up when you need it. However looks like you go everywhere with the trailer.

    Do an axle flip to gain a few inches between the tire and fender. Here's a link to TheDIYMechanic on how to do it th-cam.com/video/pt8TSbSLke8/w-d-xo.html

    Don't need hudge tires on a trailers

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrJeep75 I disagree. This is an offroad trailer so It crosses the same terrain the Jeep does. First of all large tires provide more ground clearance for the axle, second of all, they level the trailer out to the Jeep, and third, small tired would look pretty dumb.

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wadewilson8583 Thank you! Keep in mind this is in Canadian Dollars too. This trailer is so rugged, it's nearly indestructible and still fairly light, compared to some of the crazy expensive ones that cost more than some cars. If you have a little bit of DIY skill and a vision to build something, then DIY is definitely the way to go.

    Adapters are dangerous I wouldn't run them

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adapters might be dangerous on vehicles, especially Jeeps with large tires that offroad, because of all the additional stress put on the balljoints and adding additional potential points of failure. On a trailer where there is no driving force at all coming through the axle, no ball joints and a total weight of less than 2000lbs, these adapters are having the time of their life and pose absolutely no danger!

    • @MrJeep75
      @MrJeep75 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NorthBoundExpeditions there dangerous on everything also put extra stress on wheel bearings I seen so many of these fail even on trailers just like yours you couldn't pay me any amount of money to run those stupid things people that run them are just as stupid with no brains or common sense
