Stuff being recorded on materials or in methods that didn't have the best shelf life cause no one really had longevity as a priority or 2. Promotions scrubbing the stuff that puts them in a bad light clean from the public records (obviously way harder to do nowadays but that 90s and early 2000s stuff would be a lot easier to get rid of).
King of the Cage Canada filmed all their shows high quality and never released any of that footage. I've never seen any of my fights there
Any one of those Canadians on a current major mixed martial art roster like the UFC and pfl now?
Don't forget that even in the earlier days of MMA, before Pancrase, UFC, Pride, Shooto and Belator theres also various videos of different martial artists fighting since the 50s but its also lost media 😢
I used to be able to find more of the Battlecade Extreme Challenge events here on TH-cam
12:42 Dude looks like Big Bear from Fatal Fury 2. (An Australian pro-wrestling fighting game character)
Love these deep dives
John Anik with the hair.
everbody sayin that once something is on the web it stays on the web forever... well...
There used to be a clip of Chael mic'd up next to the octagon watching fights. He jokes about Nam but says not Viet Nam...for some reason it's disappeared.
Didn't know there was MMA or UFC lost media. Adding it to the list of things to keep an eye out for.
Now I wish I had kept all my Fight! Magazine’s… I even had an ad in there for my “Warrior Fight Music” custom walk-out song recording “company”🤣😂
Those were the times
Do a video on most hyped fights that never happened
I made it 11 :45 mins but the doorbell tones in the background is driving me crazy. I feel like i have the hearing of a dog 🐕 😅
As a history buff and giant mma fan, I really wish all the press conferences and weigh in events that were filmed and televised were available for consumption. I know all the newer ones post ufc 200 or so are, but there's all these clips from press conferences in the early to mid 2000s I randomly see but can't find the full broadcast on. Like the press conference where Ken Shamrock says I will beat you into the living death to Tito or the press conference of when Dana bought pride fc etc.
