I downloaded the latest version of Connect and the calculator isn't showing up under connected calculators. (I have a proper USB cable). How do I fix this?
The calculator should turn on or show that it's charging if it is connected properly. Other times, the software may just need to be closed and reopened for it to connect to the calculator
Hey, I know I'm super late but externals are coming close and I wanna put some apps on. I tried adding two different apps but they haven't showed up on the calculator when I open APPS. I AM using the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition. Ii tried again and other apps like you suggested on another comment, but it's still not working, SOS :)
Oh, TI 84 Plus is not the same as TI 84 Plus CE (the second is the newer one), so not all the apps translate over. You need apps that are compatible with the original TI 84 calculator family
There can be different issues. Make sure that you have the right calculator, as older calculators need a different TI connect program. Try with a different USB cable, preferably the one that came with the calculator. Try reinstalling the TI connect program. Try updating the operating system. Restart the computer to see if that fixed it.
@@nyannairb I have the same calculator as the one in the thumbnail, and I'm using the same wire it came with, so idk why it's not working. Thanks for the reply
@@DKG_4747 Unplugging the calculator, uninstalling the program, then restarting my computer, then reinstalling the program and then plugging in the calculator after the program shows an update notification usually worked for me. Are there certain types of programs for different calculators? Because I can't seem to install any complex programs, just basic ones. If I try to use one of these complex programs, it will say I attempted to use a variable or function where it is not valid. Is that a problem with the calculator or the program?
There are different file types for different calculators. The CE series runs TI-84 basic and assembly games. Currently, with the recent update TI made for security/helping educators, any assembly programs are blocked by default. You can bypass it by installing a program to run them instead, or stay on an OS version earlier than 5.6
Every time I install ti connect I’ve done it like 15 times my calculator won’t connect and every thing in action is a light gray and I can’t use them. You have any idea what to do?
It sometimes takes a while to find a good program to download. You can check which programs the ce calculator supports, which is different from calculators like the ti 84 plus silver edition
Can an app that runs on a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition 2.43 run on a TI-84 Plus CE from 2015? Long story short, I found this app that I saw on a video that ran on a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition 2.43, the video is from 2014 so it’s older than my 2015 Calculator. So would such program work on my calculator too?
To be more specific, the App is Bad Apple, it’s some Japanese song and this app is basically that Music Video on a TI Calculator, it’s very low quality but I really wanna show my friends that it runs so yea…
Both calculators run different file types (if not assembly games and such), so probably no, but if you wanted to run a video (downloading that video and playing it with the ti 84+ ce app you found) maybe it could work. I'm thinking try it out, and if the software tells you that it could not run or it doesn't show up in the calculator, then it's unsupported
That sometimes happens to me too. I typically just download another program as it may not be working as not all programs run. You may use the 2nd key and mode to exit that program if it hasn't
This is late, but I keep getting an error that states that there is an "error 16", and the the calculator (84 PLUS CE) has an issue, or it will disconnect and then connect after. Any fixes for this?(5.8.0 OS)
Try and ensure that the Connect CE software is up to date, then try and see if you can update the calculator after. There may also be an issue with the recognition, and may be fixed with a restart or reinstalling the Connect CE software

@@sVB328 Can you try downloading the os update or checking what files are being sent? The new calculators accept a small number of file types so not everything is transferable. Are you updating or downloading apps?
They actually have for updated versions! The workaround is to not have the most up-to-date OS, or download a program to run other programs to bypass that restriction
If this is a game, try sending it to RAM and see if that works. Otherwise if you are able, try downloading the file again to see if the file was somehow corrupted when downloading the first time. This could also be a problem with the later updates of TI 84 Plus CE, which prevent users from directly running programs for security reasons. There are different unofficial ways to bypass this
@@cry1pticzer773 I cannot really push unofficial ways to do this, but check out for programs that run apps for calculators >5.0. You can also look at profiles for apps to see if they run programs for you
Try restarting the application and repluging your calculator. This happens to me as well at times, but it usually works after a bit. Also, there are only a couple formats the ce calculators support
The calculator files read certain file types, so it may look as if it's zipped. There are programs to unzip files once they are on the calculator as well
Not necessarily. It depends on the programs you download, but your individual school would let you know what kind of programs are allowed. Typically the test instructor would say to reset the calculator if there was an issue
